I've tried connecting and it didn't work.
That model is from those fake terrible alpha packs off of ModDB isn't it?
no, actually, that is the original model. i even made a comparison between the alpha and the fake modelpack.
left is an alpha screenshot, middle is the fake modelpack, right is an official valve screenshot.

Its for hamachi. Join us at hamchi, and then we will talk.
Im not sure man all I know is I downloaded it as day one from some beta site I cant find the link now so ill re-ulpload and put it here when I get some time.
It's fake. that's the oft-redistributed fake "beta scientist" model in those screenshots, and a quick replacement of the red arm textures of the "beta" modelpack with the retail one.

The second one isn't.

if he doesn't know the difference between a LAN and public IP, he almost certaintly doesn't know how to forward his ports.
Erm.. apparently there are multiple CD covers for Day one

in comparison to mine..
[thumb]http://1337upload.net/files/dayonecd2.jpg[/thumb]
take note that they appear to be the same version number, 1.0

I guess that's an ATI specific day one demo, mine was from a soundblaster card.
I almost forgot I had these, but I found HL2 disks from like 2004 in my desk drawer. I have 5 discs (each one says "DISC . 1 (I have 2-5 as well)"
but yeah...$700 for that other disc is crazy

Whew! Calm your tits, I've never used Hamachi before so I didn't know whether it could use lan IP's or not.
I used to have a listen server on Garry's Mod back in 2009, I already know how to do all of that stuff.

the other disc is the alpha, day one was just a couple levels from the retail game iirc.

I managed to rip it, but still not having a clue on how to get the UVs.

Theres a couple key differences though, such as manual reloading, larger clip size, surface is day instead of night, 25 nades, etc.
I guess it's more of a physical value thing. People are still bidding for the alpha cd when you can download the files right there.

If you refer to the part with the osprey and artillery bombing then that's not during night-time in final HL1.

Since dead was perma'd, I'll explain a bit on his behalf (he was about to make a post litterally minutes before getting perma'd saying sorry for the confusion when he said converted, he meant converted as in the max files to the compiled models, a poor choice of words on his part- then wanted to explain, which I'm about to). The model was included in some leftovers in the half life sdk that has been around forever and anyone can grab. He opened the max files inside, and exported them to smds. He ripped the textures using a ripper, from my knowledge those textures weren't in the sdk. He gave me a link to the model to post here: http://puu.sh/1MgO9
If you want to look around for yourself in the sdk, feel free http://www.moddb.com/games/half-life/downloads/half-life-sdk-23
I tried it and it works fine EXCEPT the textures are horribly low res (meaning for example the lettering on those doors are just big black smudges).
So...anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
Edit: Screenshot if anyone wants to see what it looks like : http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x364/HW_Games/HL1Beta_zpsa709bf0c.png
Increase your filtering and mipmap in your graphics device settings (CCC for AMD)
A friend of mine found someone with the same cd as me.. in fact he has two versions..

Ugh, this makes me regret not picking up this group of games a while back, someone was selling a boxed copy of Half-Life 1 (In that HUGE original box) beside a physical copy of the orange box.
Anyone made a model decompiler yet?

I've never seen this blur effect before.
so, anything new with the models, i really want them >_<
There were multiple versions of Day One. The first is build 676 from August 1998. Other Day Ones were released after the game release. A BetaArchive user has build 852 from February 1999, it was bundled with his audio card.

I still have the recording of the game, I'm just having issues fixing the audio sync, I'm tempted to just put in background music and be on my way.
