how i play the game? i tried dosbox (i try to launch the batch but says it can't find graphics card)
Delete or rename opengl32.dll. It's a piece of shit that's looking for really old OpenGl drivers. When its gone "engineGL.exe" should work normally.
Delete or rename opengl32.dll. It's a piece of shit that's looking for really old OpenGl drivers. When its gone "engineGL.exe" should work normally.
thanks anyway
Can anyone rehost the files? They're down
I have a Mediafire link to the CUE file, BIN in a second http://www.mediafire.com/?vhzqe63nbobryuk
BIN and CUE: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?t1qx5d1zxbqhk77
BIN and CUE: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?t1qx5d1zxbqhk77
How dare you beat my download link
Optical media degrades over time. Lower range of lifespan is 12 years. Whoever buys it's a sucker. Edit: I should buy it just to microwave it on youtube.
If it degraded already, then how did the person get the files from the disk?
so this doesn't count as warez does it?
so this doesn't count as warez does it?
Well they allowed the HL2 beta to be downloaded and they didn't respond to this one so it should be fine
I thought this logo was only made in the past few years. I never knew it existed as far back as 1997.
If it degraded already, then how did the person get the files from the disk?
I think he means that you'd only have a working disk for a little while, and it would just end up not working pretty soon. Especially when you can download the files.
I think he means that you'd only have a working disk for a little while, and it would just end up not working pretty soon. Especially when you can download the files.
But it's the history man
Optical media degrades over time. Lower range of lifespan is 12 years. Whoever buys it's a sucker. Edit: I should buy it just to microwave it on youtube.
But not for industrial pressed Discs. They still work for up to 50 years.
It was at first supposed to crash the engine, which it didn't. (maybe that was redundant, im so tired fuck)
that is what valves intention was but it proved them wrong, goldsrc could hold up a lot of shit
BIN and CUE: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?t1qx5d1zxbqhk77
doesn't work :(
But not for industrial pressed Discs. They still work for up to 50 years.
I don't think it's a pressed disc, it would be probably too expensive to use pressed discs for limited preview copies, and Valve was not very rich back then, Sierra was making all release discs for them. And the label looks like it was burned with some early LightScribe-like thing.
Here's another link incase the other ones go down: http://www.moddb.com/games/half-life/downloads/half-life-sept-4-1997-alpha
Oh god it so quake like. Ho ho ho, now i have a machine gun.
It's a lot more obvious from the menus that goldsrc was derived from the quake engine in this not to mention the overall feel
Still has the silly quake 2 smoke after a grenade explosion
Wow, to think that we would have been stuck with esdf instead of wasd for movement in most games. [editline]god[/editline] Pioneering at its finest
neat little synopsis:
HALF-LIFE Synopsis The Portal Device is a dimension-spanning gate of unpredictable power, constructed in a decommissioned missile silo. So far no one has ventured through the Portal, but there has been a steady flow of odd creatures coming to our world. You are a weapons research scientist who has never touched a weapon—until now. An accident in the Threshold’s power core fractures the local fabric of spacetime, and hordes of creatures begin spewing into our world through the fissures. Monsters are everywhere, and your co-workers are dropping like flies. You head for the surface but the usual routes are unpassable—damaged by the disaster and infested with monsters. The silo security guards are in a state of primal terror and looking for someone to blame. The obvious scapegoats are the scientists. Namely, you. In your flight to the surface, you acquire a device which means the difference between victory and annihilation—but you don’t realize whose victory, until too late. As the Portal experiment’s first human subject, you are cast into the alien world to confront the ultimate horror…to cut off the invasion at its source. In Half-Life, you won’t just go head-to-head with an alien boss—you will fight it from the inside out.

new avatar postal?
You were saying?
Wow, to think that we would have been stuck with esdf instead of wasd for movement in most games.
It would have been better for me. Most french keyboard use an azerty setup instead of qwerty and it's kinda hampering in games that don't let you set up custom controls.
There is a guy from seattle downloading it via P2P. I think it might be someone from Valve. Is it okay if I post the IP? EDIT: It's not Valve.
You were saying?
It is so tiny! And ugly.
I thought this logo was only made in the past few years. I never knew it existed as far back as 1997.
That has been on Valve's official site before Steam if I recall right.
And then quiver was never developed, forever
