It is interesting to see that the grunts once wore a Green outfit. I always suspected it...Green grunts seemed...Natural for some reason.
Are there any other differences between the model used in the alpha and the olive.mdl, other than the very noticeable color change?

Nah, model itself is identical to v6 hgrunt (maybe some missing bones/animations), but v4 textures have higher resolution, so details are much more clearly visible.

That must of been the case here when first creating the human grunts. Its actually nice to see the evolution of these guys from artwork, to 3d model, to upgraded models with only different color schemes with each other, to the ones we all remember.

Yes it Is but there is even an older one than that one where its had mostly everything white Camo
there only 1 picture of it i think its the early 1996 Grunt witch would be Awesome to find out there.
But one problem i can see people fighting over it, Shutting down links and shit, stealing it. like how it was for "bullchicken.avi" so idk just putting my thoughts out there. :)

That Sarge looks great IMO, is it the strangely shaped helmet version? Of course there's the early HWG equipped with LAW bazookas and his M60 (placeholder?) counterpart. Awhile ago I had actually re-modeled and animated the M60 for the HWG.

I would like see an HD model of this version of the HWGrunt. Someone did it for the retail one for Sven Co-op and Sweet Half-Life, so it shouldn´t be hard.
I've never understood the use of HD content in such linear 3D environments.

I'd be happy if someone remade the glock in a way that it didn't look like a brick but at the same time didn't look oversized and shitty like the Gearbox HD pack.
Then again, why do we need to remake anything right now anyway? We should be more concerned about getting all the models to retail HL1.

Has anybody attempted to combine the alpha with Quake-Life (FTEQW mod which allows [vanilla] hl maps in quake)? Considering that there has been "success" ([url]http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1231468&p=39152575&viewfull=1#post39152575[/url]) at putting the maps in actual Quake, I am curious as to what the result would be.

i tried to do the scientist. I've done the model rename trick, it just stands there. i put the model over the skeleton and attempted to rig it, result = ohgodwhathaveidone. i tried renaming the animations, wont compile. what do i do?
