Anyway, that was an amazing song! May I have your honest permission to use this glorious piece of music as my mods theme song?
What's even the source of those sounds anyway, has anyone found out
Half-Life Alpha 0.52 :v:
Half-Life Alpha 0.52 :v:
I was wondering if they came from any song or video prior to being used in HL alpha
Ahah, I didn't know the song would get that popular. Sure, use it if you wish.
Thanks, man.
So the V4 decompiler/model viewer, could we get some sort of news regarding it since its been 2 months since anything has been said about it? Edited: Not sure why, but am I the only one who sees a resemblance between the alpha headcrab, and the one that was used in early screenshots of Half life 2? I don't know if its just the look of the early HL2 headcrab that makes me think that, but hey, just thought I might point that out for the hell of it.

I'd insert a picture of Bender here, but, "rules".
I'd insert a picture of Bender here, but, "rules".
What Bender meme applies here?
What Bender meme applies here?
The one of him with the camera with the caption "NEAT".
I think that's the red color
Thats what I was referring to.

That's my head crab skin! I feel loved. Has anybody ported over the weapons to retail yet?
Has anybody ported over the weapons to retail yet?
Well for the pistol yes, it actually did get ported: http://www.moddb.com/games/half-life/addons/half-life-beta-1998-early-pistol As for the MP5 though, were still waiting on that.
I am sorry for not posting updates, but here is something to keep you guys going. When the Half-Life Alpha was leaked I had an idea for a "prequel" to Half-Life 2 Beta Deathmatch. I present to you: Half-Life Alpha Deathmatch! Basically half-life 1 multiplayer that is modified with stuff to make it look like the alpha. (except the HUD and other elements) Pictures: Download: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/81688479/hladm.zip [sp]Is this worthy for a thread?[/sp] By the way, I plan to work on hl2bdm soon enough.

Check out this interesting obscure HL1 companion CD I just found on the deep web.
That´s Half-Life: Futher Data http://combineoverwiki.net/wiki/Half-Life:_Further_Data
I still never ran into this CD until now, susprisingly enough.
Sorry for the bump, but is there anywork around for couldnt find graphics driver?
Sorry for the bump, but is there anywork around for couldnt find graphics driver?
When you launch engine.exe you need to run it in 16-Colors by going into your res settings then 16-colors(if you are using XP and maybe vista?), For Windows 7 you need to go to the same page but advanced, Monitors, then 16-Colors. For Engine_GL.exe, just delete opengl32.dll from the root of the alpha
Fuck, i really want a version of the BETA now. Too bad that will never happen. so is there a model converter in progress? Id really like to kill an hassault grunt. EDIT: so i guess this place is dead.
Fuck, i really want a version of the BETA now. Too bad that will never happen. so is there a model converter in progress? Id really like to kill an hassault grunt.
The decompiler was released awhile ago
The decompiler was released awhile ago
Yeah, and there was also suppose to be an upgraded version to convert v4 models and a model viewer as well, but that never got released. Hope it does someday, because god dammit those models do look interesting, especially (to me, anyway) the two hgrunt models (olive.mdl and desert.mdl) which are the exact same as the v6 hgrunt, except with higher resolution and slightly different textures.
The decompiler was released awhile ago
Actually it wasnt. EDIT: it made a new page so when i posted it went to page 4 [editline]5th August 2013[/editline]
Yeah, and there was also suppose to be an upgraded version to convert v4 models and a model viewer as well, but that never got released. Who was working on it anyways? Oh also that other hgrunt model with white camo looking clothes, no gun and missing animations would be cool to see in action.(the one in the earlier videos)
Actually it wasnt.
the v6 decompiler was released, it's in the OP. the v4 decompiler and model viewer will probably never be released.
I agree, id like to see them released. Who was working on it anyways?
baso88 was the one who was working on it, actually. Hell, when looking back at the previous thread, a user named laylay was working on one too, but for some reason was butthurt about baso's mdl v6 viewer, pretty because of how he didn't release the binaries and source code for the viewer (even though he had said he was going to in the next version), while also claiming that their (laylay's) mdl viewer was more complete. In the end though, bass did release the binaries and source code, and laylay never did release their version of the model viewer. Edited: Wait, I just realized something while looking at the old thread. A guy named Amplified31 (who has just been banned by the way) said that one of his friends beta tested Half-Life back in 1997 and actually owns a version that predates the alpha we have, but because he was moving soon he decided to look for it at when he started to move, then share it with Amplified, then finally share it with the rest of facepunch. Of coarse that never happened which now makes me wonder, why? The only two explanations I could think of are either: a) He couldn't find his version of the alpha. (70% likely) b) It slipped his mind while moving. (5% likely) OR c) Found it, but lost it while moving. (25% likely)
Theres also a small possibility it was a lie.
