Found a Jon Snow portrait so now I just gotta decide if I'm gonna go with a fist-fighting monk Snow or a back-stabbing, gun-toting rogue Snow. [sp]There are no story-related monk or rogue companions, right? So gameplay-wise, if I want a party as diverse as possible, it doesn't matter which one I choose.[/sp] [editline]26th March 2015[/editline] here's jon and a bunch of other fantastic portraits http://imgur.com/a/eOhqV
Can't wait to play! Spending my birthday playing this and Bloodborne.
it's out on gog
Damn, really? I grabbed it on steam...oh well. Also, that folder of portraits is immense, holy shit.
Unlock, damn it, UNLOCK Perfect time to take a couple of hour BB break too, UNLOCK
Damn, really? I grabbed it on steam...oh well. Also, that folder of portraits is immense, holy shit.
This guy says it's out on steam too, he just had to restart steam.
Have you all restarted steam? It should be out now.
Have you all restarted steam? It should be out now.
Hnnng, restarting at the speed of light. Nothing so far!
Anyone else getting the Physical Edition? It's going to be rad, even though there's no CD inside :v:
Have you all restarted steam? It should be out now.
Not for me Fuck's sake
I really wish I hadn't bought it on steam. That service just gets poorer and poorer.
Steam updates at 10 am PST. If it isn't working now it will then.
Steam updates at 10 am PST. If it isn't working now it will then.
10am pst is 1pm est you still have 40 minutes
Works now. Unpacking. [editline]26th March 2015[/editline] Oh god, playing a good old-fashioned story-heavy RPG feels so fucking good I am not going to get enough sleep tonight, tomorrow is going to be painful
I really want this game but I'm in the middle of my dissertation and several courseworks, and have my final university exams in a few weeks :(
I've never gotten into the RTwP battle system (maybe cause DnD has lots of confusing and complex shit going on) but I'm actually really enjoying the battles in this one. This and BB are going to ruin my next 5 weeks uni-wise
I'm so terrible at the game, but I'm loving every minute of it. What's everyone rolling with?
Cipher... love the class Love the whole game
I just played that first camp section, it was exciting! I'm just playing a fighter right now, since I haven't bothered to read any of the manual. I'm planning to play until I die, then read up on how the attributes and such work, then I'll start a real character. Plus I want to look into getting a custom portrait.
Pillars of Eternity: Character Creation
thanks, useful Added to OP!
Mmm. I'm liking the choices available even in just gear. A suit of leather isn't innately inferior to platemail like in AD&D, and a two handed sword isn't always better than a pike, for instance. Lots of variety, tons of ways to play the game even as the same race and class.
I made a chanter, took me like 5 minutes just to kill the outlaw holding that dwarf hostage on my own. I found this Fine Pistol [sp]hidden in the back of the sea cave at Anslög's Compass[/sp] for the guy who was wondering what the firearms look like.
Considering having a go at this game. Is it worth the price?
Considering having a go at this game. Is it worth the price?
if you like RPGs, it most certainly is!
How's the setting? I hope it has that sense of adventure at lot of modern fantasy lacks.
How's the setting? I hope it has that sense of adventure at lot off modern fantasy lacks.
The world and story is interesting, if that is what you mean. At least for me, at the beggining of game.
I wish the local map screen was a bit brighter, it's really hard to see what's what in some areas
Started up a game as a Paladin, like I did back in BG. So far I feel kind of weak, though. Thankfully I got a fighter for my party and that helped even things out. It's kind of funny seeing everything and how it's named/presented since it's all basically renamed D&D stuff. :v:
How easy is this game on novices? Fallout 2 and Arcanum are two of my favorite games of all time, but when I started up BG2 enhanched edition I felt lost and confused right at the character creator. And I know I should probably give BG2 a new chance..

I think what keeps messing me up is that even for the older games I always get AI mods so my party members will do some basic stuff on their own. In PoE all they'll do is autoattack, and sometimes not even that, so you really have to manage everyone.
