A friend of mine keeps comparing this game to dark souls, for some reason. I've never heard of it, are they similar? :v:
Both were based off of the Berserk artstyle, which is a gritty medieval manga (hell, there was armor of the main character in the console versions of this game). Gameplay is only really similar in the "big swords and shields while dodging" kind of way, and overall there's a lot less comparisons than you'd think. Still, both are great in their own unique ways!

You mean Gutt's sword and armor aren't in the pc version?
They lost the rights to use them so they're in the game code but don't have physical models basically
How does one access the special content we got for pre-purchasing, like the art book or whatever?

Sucks
Damn, Blink Strike + Tusk Toss is a great combo early on. Too bad I will ditch it soon since I am going Warrior.
Game is stupid quiet for me, and others it seems.
Like, the volume on my headphone amp is usually around 40% (kind of loud already for my headphones), but I have to have it at 70% to get it to listenable levels for this.
As such, I get fucking startled every time I get a Steam message, because it's so damn loud.
I'll probably wait until that gets patched before diving back in. Otherwise, the port seems alright, and I'm liking the game so far.
And yes, audio settings are already at max in game.

this seems like a reasonable weapon size
so nice to actually be able to play this game at a good framerate and with being able to actually see what's going on on screen. it's like a completely different game.
Okay, is there any panic move like dodge roll in Souls?
Tried blocking but even a single arrow makes my character lose his shit while some dovahkin-like bandit just oneshot me with every fart.

Yeah the bandits are pretty bullshit at low level. The Strider gets a roll move I think, exclusive only to that vocation though
Other classes either shouldn't be in melee range at all, have a shield, or just tank the hits
edit: on hard mode pretty much everything one shots me, even the snakes on the fucking ground

Jesus christ, it's literally more bullshit than any souls game could hope to be (souls is pretty fair though), I can kill 90% of a bandit group and then one of the soldiers blink strikes me instantly and it's over
This is hilarious

Strider can dodge, Assassin gets a parry for daggers and a parry for swords. I've found jumping is a pretty decent move for avoiding damage.

Seems like it's a bug. My headphone volume is at 67% and game volume is at max and I can hear it just fine and steam messages won't sound like a gunshot to my ear.
Hard mode exp and gold gain is pretty insane. Made 100,000gp and am level 14, and haven't even reached Gran Soren yet

The dodge roll is a dagger skill, so Strider,Ranger, always have it and Assassin and Magick Archer have it when they have daggers equipped.
Insidentally, is there a way to move a 360 save to the PC? I miss my Eternal Ferrystone and beastly high level, plus the other junk from having an old save bonus.
update stuck at 99%, what do
You already have those bonuses from having an old save/Ferrystone. Check your storage.
The game runs so well on PC. I almost miss the constant lag on striking enemies but it's so smooth i can get over it.

I did. Unless they only show up after a certain story point but there's lifestones and a glowy jester cap and all that DLC stuff, just no titty merchant and French chocolate knight gear
are the quests and areas the same from the console version? I played it when it came out on console

Broad Cut works as a cheap dodge if used right. Has come in handy a couple of times now.

It's exactly the same as Dark Arisen on consoles except now it's on PC.
I bought the ferrystone from the npc but it doesn't show up in my inventory, is this correct? Also I can see a portal stone thing to teleport to on my map but do you have to visit them first to be able to portal to it?
How do you get a ferrystone?
I wanted to know if this game actually suppports playstation controllers, my xbox controller broke and most games usually support those instead of the dualshock.
Anyone having troubles downloading the soundtrack and artbook? The steam store says they should be in the base folder for the game, but it's not there. Ticking the boxes on the library page does nothing.

It might not show up before Gran Soren, I guess. That's when I took out my eternal ferrystone personally.
If it's not there by then, it must be some kind of bug. There's a Cheat Engine table with a simple item editor you can use to get them if that's the case.
most of the DLC stuff is in Gran Soren but some of it doesn't show up until after you do the Everfall quest for some reason
Shit, I'm basically speedrunning the game and picking up everything I see in case it's useful due to the difficulty but due to that my pawn has become Acquisitor primary (wanders off to pick up shit instead of actually fighting)
Weirdly her secondary isn't appearing, as on a few other pawns. Wonder if that's network issues or something
How do you get a ferrystone?
They're very rare, you can pick up one off the ground in Gran Soren's portcrystal (the ring of gems outside and near where the pawn guild is). You could always retrieve your eternal ferrystone from storage after it appears there once you've made it to Gran Soren
Oh my god I just got this game, and I was nearing the end of the quest with the hydra head cart, when I realized I could throw people around. I accidentally threw one of my pawns off a cliff. I went to go get him and I also fell off the cliff. Now I gotta do all that shit again. These checkpoints don't seem very generous.
