Is there any way to actually check what level an enemy is before fighting them? It's more than a little frustrating to pick a fight with a pack of bandits that look the same as the last 50 bandits I killed in the last two minutes, only for them to take no damage from my strongest attack and then I get one hit killed from a single arrow. Then I gotta go back and kill all those bandits AGAIN because I'm still not in a habit of saving after literally every fight.
Just stay away from the west side of Gransys until you're level 30 or something. You'll avoid the more resistant enemies like high level bandits and hobgoblins.
hey fellers this game is fuckin awesome and I played it obsessively when I had it on the ps3, did they fix the one-save deal or can we still only have one save on it?

One save only because of the pawn system.
I really dislike the numbers that show up if you're using a dualshock controller. I've found some mods that apparently works and changes the prompts to playstation controllers. But for some odd reason it doesn't seem to work. Did anyone try this as well?
witcher 3 became a drag for me quite fast, never finished it
finished DD multplie times, spent hundreds of hours on the last-gen version. take that as you will.
Witcher 3 made me sleepy.
There's nothing that we can take back home from the story.
They even played that 'save this poor little girl' sentiment like in The Last Of Us. Kind of disgusting.
I personally dislike the Witcher series because I find it somewhat breaking of my disbelief that there is no healing magic, or that it's nigh-impossible to do. I mean, I know magic is decided at the whim of the writer's worldbuilding perferences but I mean come on.
I like both Witcher 3 and Dragon's Dogma, my pawn is a dwarf called Zoltan. What now?
Seriously though, they need to fix pawns as soon as possible, feels bad to not get any feedback on something you put effort in.

there is healing magic and it works fine, but sorcerers are rare and usually not around when geralt needs them. neither are the magical creatures who would heal him.

So it *is* broken then. Goddammit. At least its not an isolated thing then.

That, and Geralt can heal himself anyway. Either through the use of potions or getting hit with upgraded Quen.
That, and Geralt can heal himself anyway. Either through the use of potions or getting hit with upgraded Quen.
well, that's more of a game mechanic thing, as in-universe potion healing is really slow and quen doesn't do that

The in-universe healing is mostly common shit like herbal tea or whatever. Geralt can use Swallow but it will do a lot of harm to non-witcher people.
Dragon's Dogma is the shit, by the way.
Grabbed a mission from a board in Gran Soren to take a dude to that fortress to the northwest. Now that it's done is there any way to fast travel away from here or do I have to walk all the way back? Getting there was a bitch on hard mode and I don't have any stones or whatever they're called to teleport with that crystal (that I haven't even used).

I'm playing with my Dualshock 4 and I have regular controller prompts. I'm also using DS4Windows.

There's a quest that is in that fortress and you can get a portcrystal inside, but you can't go in the fortress to get it 'til then.

So I have to get that quest from somewhere else then? In the end I have to walk from there anyway?

Yup. The walk isn't that bad if you opened up the mine.
There's something very wrong with damage calculations in hardmode
It's supposed to be doubled but when you're starting out one hit from a rat is enough to take off 2/3 of your health
Yeah, you pretty much have to use a class that can parry/perfect block until you have enough armor. Without a significant amount of armor pretty much everything will one/two shot you, but once you've passed a certain amount a lot of attacks will do literally 1-2 damage. It's really weird.
Magic cannon without a single drop in fps is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
Game looks pretty good with an enb, I was getting a bit tired of the dated graphics but with some updated shaders it's very pleasant. Much easier to tell what time of day it is and everything looks a lot less drab (obviously the sun doesn't flare in your face at all times)

wickfutENB with the annoying noise removed. Performance impact is negligible
Might want to go with envision enb if you want more color.

Although, I've always disliked most enb's, because it always look blurry.
Fuck this pawn I had hired since I started is named Smoqueed. Fucking stoners.
Why would anyone use an ENB on this game? I thought the idea of getting it on PC was to make it less blurry.
ENB doesn't mean it'll be blurry. It seems so because a lot of ENB screenshots have very heavy DoF, but you don't even have to have DoF.

That's a bit too colourful for me unfortunately, DD is fantasy but it's still pretty grounded so I like to keep the palette a bit realistic
You can hit shift + enter to alter the effects including Dof, make sure to click save configuration

Yeah, it's toggleable with the ingame overlay. I like to turn it on or off every now and then as the mood suits
Towards the end of the day it's quite nice on the eyes
DDDA for gameplay, witcher for story (although you'll want to play the previous games)
DD has a good story though
It's just not in your face with it, the setting is quite interesting, a lot more unique than a lot of RPGs imo.
Why would anyone use an ENB on this game? I thought the idea of getting it on PC was to make it less blurry.
I only use a few SweetFX filters, namely to eliminate some of the blur. I increased some contrast so the nights could be darker, but other than the SMAA and slight sharpening, there isn't much extra the game needs to look decent.

TVTropes lied to me. Or maybe the healing magic just sucked in-universe. Eitherway, not a fan of grimdark.

DDs story isn't hugely deep but it's the first story that's gotten me good in the past few years, that twist though.
Got caught out in the field at nightfall. it wasnt pretty :ohno:

Ironically I even heard him growling but I thought to myself "It's probably a giant or something, I can take it"
Nope, dragon hiding behind a fucking rock
he actually shows up there anyway
