this current playthrough of mine is just really bringing to light how i seriously rushed this game on my first playthrough. i had gotten gran soren about 2 hours in first time through. i'm 6 and a half hours in on my current playthrough and i've just begun the quest to deliver the head to the duke.
holy shit is there that much to do? ive just been hitting quests as i see them
i mean i'm not sure how much had to do with me just being kinda bad / having shit pawns for a time, though i have done about 4 - 5 side quests. the bandits before entering the witchwood were completely wrecking me for a while and i had to completely change my equipment and party to deal with them.
If i see you guys putting charge up attacks on a Warrior pawn I'm going to slap the shit out of you. Stop doing that, pawn AI is retarded and they almost always miss that charge up.

Maybe corona slash if you teach that pawn to dive into groups of enemies.
DDs story isn't hugely deep but it's the first story that's gotten me good in the past few years, that twist though.
The story is kinda silly and predictable to me, but Grigori's writing and voice acting just seemed so goddamn fucking good. I found myself becoming completely enthralled by what he was saying.
His voice is weirdly fitting, it's not as deep as you'd expect for a Dragon but it's so good.
Is there any upload of Into Free on youtube that isn't blocked in the US?
so i never switched to an advanced vocation back when i played on console. am i supposed to get a bunch of armor pieces upon switching?
i made a huge guy just for two handed stuff, was so silly seeing him use swords that are like daggers to him.
so i never switched to an advanced vocation back when i played on console. am i supposed to get a bunch of armor pieces upon switching?
No you'll still have to buy new gear or use stuff you've picked up previously.
so i never switched to an advanced vocation back when i played on console. am i supposed to get a bunch of armor pieces upon switching?
i found the same thing when i first got there, a monocle and some other shit ive never seen before thats really good. not sure what it is but im using it. full suit of armor for males thats pretty good i guess
Got caught out in the field at nightfall. it wasnt pretty :ohno: Ironically I even heard him growling but I thought to myself "It's probably a giant or something, I can take it" Nope, dragon hiding behind a fucking rock
Reminds me of an old screenshot of mine from when I first played the game on PS3. I was roaming through the forest and got ambushed by a group of bandits. During the fight a Chimera showed up and wanted to play. As I'm fighting that a small pack of wolves joins the fray. I guess the game decided that wasn't enough because then a Skeleton Lord showed up and wanted to get in on the action. Needless to say it didn't end well for me. Can't wait to get to this part, it's going to be great at 1080p60fps. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/25802995/ShareX/2016/01/Dragon's%20Dogma%20Screenshot_23.jpg

It's hard to gauge the stats of full armor sets against individual pieces, you pretty much have to do the math yourself. I wish there was a comparison mode or something like that, especially when shopping. If I want to buy a whole new set of armor/clothes, figuring out stats and end looks is a pain in the ass since it requires constant equipping/unequipping shit. Started NG+ and will be playing Fashion Dogma from this point on. Fuck stats, I'm gonna look fly as fuck.

Been playing for about 7 hours, and the game just feels... bad? I'm trying hard to like it after getting recommendations from everyone and their dog, but it just feels lacking.
I'm curious if anyone knows how this game's engine works? It seems that the lantern uses shadow-volumes for characters and I am curious if it can be switched to use all geometry (including clothing)
Going to need more to go off of son, what class did you pick, what did you do?
Yeah nevermind, I just realised I can throw humanoid enemies off of cliffs. 10/10 would throw again. I started as Fighter, planning on going Assassin or Warrior.
Yeah nevermind, I just realised I can throw humanoid enemies off of cliffs. 10/10 would throw again. Uh oh, my game keeps crashing as I try to enter the Duke's castle. [editline]18th January 2016[/editline] Seems to have been fixed after I validated the game files. Only thing I've changed was the intro song to Into Free. Oh well.
god damn the pawns are still complete idiots yeah sure lets run straight towards the serpent and get swallowed instantly
The in-universe healing is mostly common shit like herbal tea or whatever. Geralt can use Swallow but it will do a lot of harm to non-witcher people.
From memory of the books there's actually rather a lot of fuss made over magical healing. Geralt slashes a mage named Vilgefortz in the face which pops his eye out, and the next book describes it being magically regrown and at that point in the story being a tiny, half formed pea-sized eyeball sitting in the socket. Plus there's a lot of mention made of magical techniques to extend the lifespan of mages and witches.
Is there a way to make pawns pick up stuff more regularly? I am kind of tired shifting around things I found towards all pawns. And what's up with those escort missions, are those considered unnecessary side missions or do they hold any benefit beyond their laughable reward?
Is there a way to make pawns pick up stuff more regularly?
And what's up with those escort missions, are those considered unnecessary side missions or do they hold any benefit beyond their laughable reward?
Increased affinity which makes them a target towards your near-ending love interest. Aka don't bother with them.
Increased affinity which makes them a target towards your near-ending love interest. Aka don't bother with them.
as much as i enjoy this game, the absolutely horrible way they handled this "love interest" mechanic in game is so bad it's hilarious
Increased affinity which makes them a target towards your near-ending love interest. Aka don't bother with them.
Then I don't mind one seemingly random guy dying while I got engaged by bandits, a zyclopse and a chimera at the same time. I thought I majorly fucked something up.
