Haven't finished the game yet, does starting NG+ allow you to recreate your character/pawn from scratch? I have some things I want to try on my second playthrough, but I'd like to invert absolutely everything about my character when I do so.
It does indeed allow you to change how you and your pawn looks.
Is there an item that helps with stamina?
Traveling long distances can be a pain

You can buy a consumable item to change your appearance once during the game. In the post-game, you can buy an item that allows you to change your appearance infinitely many times.

Mushrooms will replenish a good amount of stamina. There's also liquid vim so your stamina won't decrease for sbout a minute.
Playing with sorcerer pawns that has Maelstrom sure is fun.

can't see shit but at least you got more frames than 10 this time around.
I love how completely broken you can get in Dark Arisen.
In the console version my Sorcerer just goes without pawns with the Assassin Augment where your stats become huge by fighting solo.
With the staff and holy buff he can take down [sp]Daimon and Offline Ur-dragon[/sp] just a matter of minutes with ease just with the charged staff shots.

Mushrooms, meat and backfat oil are all good for replenishing stamina. Sour meat restores the most, with sour ambrosial meat being the best one. If you have lots of money and time you can get kept sour ambrosial meat (so it won't turn rotten) and take it to the Black Cat to have him duplicate it for you. I think it costs about 13k gold and takes a couple in-game days.
Large mushrooms are champs.
I downloaded a mod that gets rid of the scar on your arisen it also decreases my sprinting consumption by half. I got fed up with running out of stamina every 5 seconds. It drains extremely quickly and then takes forever to refill. I need to find out if i can modify it further, I'd rather it reduced it by a reasonable amount. Right now i can sprint from the entrance of Grand Soren to the end of the ravine you escort the hydra head through in 1 bar of stamina.
been having a lot of fun with this game so far, worth the 30$ i put up a month ago. had always wanted it but had never really watched any gameplay so i'm glad i'm having fun. i think when i really got into it was during the quest where you have to retake a fort from goblins, mainly because it took me three ingame days to get there. one day was spent going the wrong direction, another was spent going through the quarry and the last was spent [sp]peppering the two cyclops on the ground with the ballista[/sp]. felt really accomplished after going through that endeavor.
also, does the art of a metamorphosis allow you to change everything about your character and pawn, including height/weight and name?

Yeah. It gives you the same options when you first made your character and pawn. It's a one time use though.
imo don't bother with Art of Metamorphosis,
just beat the dragon and get Secret of Metamorphosis instead, same thing except infinite, and it only costs double.
After 25 hours in this game I just found out there is a Ferrystone with unlimited use. Finally I have use for those crystals I can port to.
Tho I am already at the part in which [sp]you will leave Gran Soren "for a long while"[/sp], so I think I could have gotten to this way faster then running around the whole map.
That's nothing compared to the characters I am getting

I've been to 3 state fairs, 2 rodeos, and a picnic, but this is the scariest thing I've ever seen.
Because no one has, here's the [sp]worst romance character option.[/sp] Will leave a link instead to avoid spoilers for new players. Go straight to 3:45: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUbLL3J0__o
I just met the Court Jester.
He reminded me of Tingle (Legend of Zelda), another midget size, middled-age man in tights.
The more I look into taking care of my pawn the more I realize dragon dogma is just a very complex tamagochi
First time player here, anybody mind giving me a bit of a tip before I start playing?
As I understand it, I get to create my main character and a main pawn to assist my character. I can whore out this pawn to other players for use. Are there any solid recommendations for pawn classes that people would find useful? I'd hate to make something nobody wants to us/is terrible.

So my mage currently uses:
Primary:
Fire Affinity
Grand Ingle
High Comestion
Secondary:
High Anodyne
High Halidom
High Grapnel
and the inclinations are:
Primary: Utilitarian
Secondary: Mitigator
Tertiary: Medicant
Anything I could improve on here?
Make it a sorc.

It doesn't matter too much from what I've gathered. Honestly, as long as they're useful in combat, someone out there is going to need a pawn like whatever yours is depending on their team setup.
Another hint, side quests can be missable and sometimes if you do a certain quest before you finish another you get locked out of that quest and possibly future quests.

But they can't heal though can they?

Oh whoops was that a reply to DeeCeeTeeBee?

One thing to keep in mind is that your pawn can learn how you play the game. So what I'm currently doing is making my pawn and I sword and shield vocations and I'm trying to teach it how to perfect block everything. It can be beneficial to make your pawn a similar vocation to what you want to play as.

From my time playing on PS3 I remember always having trouble getting a good gender balance in my party because there seemed to be an overwhelming majority of female pawns. When I made a male pawn I swear it got hired more often too. Opinions may differ though.
Keep it a mage, don't make it a sorc. Mage pawns are REALLY good, especially when they have High Grapnel and High Anodyne. Sorc pawns are usually dumb unelss they have full bestiary knowledge, which most don't.

I'd recommend regular Anodyne though. High Anodyne is nice and the constant heal is good but it takes significantly longer to cast, more chance for interruptions, especially with larger enemies and denser crowds.
I just don't like mages because it's easy enough to carry a shitload of curatives. I have a huge stock of red and white wine from picking up apples and grapes while questing.

Or get a bunch of spring water and give it to your pawns. It'll constantly heal the entire party.

That weighs me down, fuck that.
Curatives are more of an "oh shit i'm dying" emergency thing than a regular use item to me.

You only need like 5 wines for one trip out of Gran Soren.

Idk, everyone has different playstyles.
