It is possible to play somewhat like you would in Dark Souls if you go Assassin and get all the skills that increase your abilities when alone. Though you're pigeon holing yourself pretty hard.
I thought it was just one ability?
Autonomy, yeah.
Although there is one that increases your damage pretty significantly at night, too, and I always liked to pair those.

Yeah, there are other skills for the Assassin that empower you that I subconsciously link to Autonomy. I also mean that Assassin gets Easy Kill and a dodge roll, which makes it a little more like Dark Souls.
Cool thing to note, the original concept was there was going to be multiple parallel worlds on top of each other, and you used a tower to go up/down them. I can only assume we don't have a moon because we aren't on the 'top' world.
Either that or they just forgot to add a moon but I like my explanation better.
If you finish the game [sp]you'll find that that's pretty much what it is anyway[/sp]
I feel like the game got a budget cut somewhere (or went way over the budget) because there's a lot of stuff in both the story and the world that just isn't fleshed out as much as it could be.
So fucking stoked for PC. Finally I can play mystic knight.
Autonomy and bloodlust got nerfed in Dark Arisen (from 70% to 30%) so you're better off using assassin for stat growth and switching to ranger if you plan on bomb arrow spamming.
Can you play magick archer as a purely dagger class? I want to play a melee+magic vocation but I usually prefer high agility classes to slower warrior types. If not, I should be able to go from strider straight to mystic knight right? Still not quite sure about how the whole vocation system works
Apparently a sequel might be in talks and the PC version might just give it that little push to get the gears turning.

You absolutely can but a lot of the cooler abilities are Magick Bow focused. And yeah, you can go straight from Strider to Mystic Knight. You can switch to any one of them at any time after purchase, the only reason why people get picky is to min-max their characters because each one has a different stat growth, but it really doesn't matter, change to your hearts content.

I would say you have no idea how happy that'd make me but in looking through this thread, i think you all know exactly how happy that'd make me.

And that just sealed my purchase. I don't even care if it won't run, I'll get a new computer eventually.
I just hope that most of the people that have pirated it already will also be purchasing it.

I MIGHT HAVE tried it, but I felt like they made a real fucking effort on the port and considering the price, I bought it like... after 20 mins.
Good ports need to be encouraged.
Oh I preordered it in December, I just figured it'd be nice to get some experience in early and get used to the controls and stuff. Also there's some frame rate stuff I want to test.
not that i pirated it
So we're gonna have a Facepunch Pawn group right
Yeah, when the game comes out I can either make a spreadsheet or a steam group or something

It makes me sad to see that a lot of people are just refunding it and pirating the leaked version. The game is amazing and I really want to see a sequel (especially on PC), but I'm afraid that Capcom will look at people doing this and use that as a reason to not give us more.

Or they may start using Denuvo.
Honestly they're missing out on the best part of the game, the online pawn system rules and so does the Ur-Dragon.

they'll most likely buy the game solely for the pawns.
it's not like it's super expensive or anything. shit, it has more content than the new battlefront, and for half the price. most of the internet very much enjoys dragon's dogma, and often encourages buying it, from what i've seen anyways.
Just pre-ordered it recently, can't wait to get started this week.
I can also supply a banner sometime tomorrow if the OP wishes.

From lurking 4chan the general consensus is there's a shitload of pirates, but most of them are buying it anyway they just want to play it early.

Is there anything actually wrong with Denuvo DRM? I heard when lords of the fallen came out it was cooking SSDs because of the constant reading and writing or something but I have no idea how true that actually was, or even if that's possible

IIRC there was no evidence for it after people looked into the allegation.

All I see about it nowadays is the accusation that it hurts performance considerably.
As far as I'm aware there's no solid proof of this though.
There's little proof either way because there's scarcely any information about how Denuvo actually works.
One of the big theories that have been around is that it constantly encrypts and decrypts itself, and if that were the case it would degrade storage media over time, but Denuvo denies this the case, and it's never been confirmed how exactly it does work.
The worst side about Denuvo for pirates is that there is literally no downside apparently. So most developers are considering integrating it into their games.
I recently read an article about this somewhere, 3DM can't seem to crack the latest Denuvo stuff and since Denuvo itself is constantly getting new revisions and updates... Piracy might be a rough thing to resort to in the coming years.
btw isnt there also a dragons dogma mmorpg coming sometime?

Been out for almost half a year at this point already with a Japan only release.
Pretty sure it's staying that way too.

They didn't upscale the text at all so captions look like butt. Hope they fix it but they probably won't. Maybe a mod will. Could also just turn subtitles off, I suppose.

If Capcom won't patch it, hopefully Durante can work his magic on it.
I don't know how people take 4k screenshots, my game's maxed out and it looks great but screenshots make it look terrible, i don't know why
