This. BBI is pretty unforgivable dps check.
Just make sure to use dragonforged weapon with at least the same power as Grigori's weapons.
Your best option right now is to do quest for obtaining 3 cursed dragon horns to make Barroch sell some good weapons.
Still I managed to finish BBI story with silver rarified Saving Grace but Living Armor and Daimon almost gave me a mental issue.
As a melee character, Living Armors are an instant "ignore and run away" enemy to me unless it's in the Fallen City. There? I lure all that I can to a ledge and Arc of Obliteration those motherfuckers into the abyss.
Oooh, look at you, fucking tough guys being all ghostly when your armor breaks -- can't dodge gravity, bitch.
I also decided to start Hard Mode as a Fighter --> Warrior for maximized suffering. It's been uh ... an experience.

I like how you can actually make a buff female character. Looks like she's been lifting her entire life or some shit.
Haha, that's mine
Your pawn on the other hand decided to jump down a bottomless pit of her own accord, but I was bringing her along for a tour of BBI 2.0 at level 40 so I can't really blame her
Sounds about right. Tweaking her for survivability and tankiness, buuuuut BBI may be a bit extreme. Thanks though :D
Christ, I wish you could just have 3 main pawns. It's becoming a real pain in the ass to find two pawns every few levels that has the right set of skills, decent inclination, decent equipment, and doesn't look like a fucking barbie doll or loli or some shit.
Right now I'm still using pawns at like level 30ish despite being almost 40 myself because I just can't be arsed to sift through all that trash

She did pretty well actually, I don't even like using fighter pawns most of the time

It's what makes it interesting and forces you to try new things, the fact that you can't just plan your entire team the exact way you like it
You can always set your game to offline and use the preset pawns if you're having a hard time finding something decent

I would recommend never doing this unless you want mediocre pawns who all look stupid.

First time I went online and saw everyone else's pawns i just sulked back out and spent the next hour making my pawn prettier and just half as good as theirs
felt like i was taking my lovable old smelly rescue dog to crufts

I disagree entirely, I find it the exact opposite of interesting. It's just annoying.
Also annoying that my main pawns inclination constantly changes. Yes, I know I keep going for the strongest opponent, no that does not mean you should too, I set you up to take care of the weaker ones so I could focus on the strongest you twat.
Oh yeah, just put 2 wyrms in the same chamber. Oh you wanna stand still for 3 seconds? Well too bad have this Fire/fire/Electro blast. Then when you start bashing the heart in of one of them, then the other just freezes you so the other can pound you dead.
Frostwyrms made me always carry a golden weapon.
Welp, just encountered Daimon's second form and lost all motivation to play after realizing how damage spongy he is. Can't wait for Dragon's Dogma 2.
If they do make Dergon's Dergma 2, they need to change the d-pad commands to "go over there, right fucking there, and don't move more than 5 feet from it until I goddamn say so".
Pawns can be absolute geniuses or complete dumbasses. From what I have seen, fighting enemies in small spaces are usually bad for pawns.

i'd like more pawn commands in general as well as more ways to train them in specific behaviors. pawn heals you, you praise them, and they'll learn to heal you faster and prioritize healing you, for instance.
[editline]29th January 2016[/editline]
or discourage certain behaviors

There also really needs to be a retreat command.
It's cool and all that there are occasionally really hard enemies that you can't really beat at low levels around the world, not so cool when your pawns decide to attack it and no matter how many times you tell them to come over here or point them in the opposite direction and tell them to go, they won't fucking disengage.
Or make pawn focus your target instead of hitting everything in their proximity.
Also having commands not affecting inclination. This mostly comes from skipping stuff telling pawns to follow you no matter what.
Personally I set my pawn inclinations to whatever I find optimal and then don't touch the D pad whatsoever.
Suppose I should play around with it a bit more.
Sometimes when we're about to die I just run away and spam the "follow me" button and hope they actually listen
I played fighter/warrior until level 20 to get some augments, with my main pawn being a strider. My pawn seems a bit more retarded than when I played strider from in my last playthrough.
Will it learn the more I play stride,r or are those bad habits learnt from 5 to 20 there forever?

Or just make a system like 'Gambit' system in Final Fantasy 12
Since it's about my 3rd time playing through Dragon's Dogma and I get to the Madeline escort back in Cassardis, I decided I wasn't having it.

I personally don't bother with escort quests.
The time-to-reward rate isn't worth it, and they just feel like a chore, in my opinion of course.
I found this kawaii motherfucker while searching for Fighter pawns.

I love the pawns in the BG. Just casually looking at their Arisen being fed up.
I've been having a problem with my main pawn, who is a fighter, not engaging targets that I go after at longer ranges. Really all of the pawns have the issue. I switched her to Scather/pioneer/utilitarian to hopefully address it. I'm curious to see how well it will work. In the past I haven't much liked pioneer.
I think challenger is the one to go after farther away targets.

I am also having this issue but mine is Scather which is supposed to charge into battle recklessly. My pawn tends to wait until the enemies come up to us before actually engaging.

Challenger goes after ranged attackers. Scather sticks to the strongest enemy and Pioneer is shit; get rid of it.

Escort NPCs teleport with you when you use ferrystones, so if you have portcrystals set up in places you go to often it makes them incredibly easy. The Shadow Fort is a good place to have one for this reason.

Also because that Drake that spawns near there gives a shit ton of exp and a chance to dragonforge 1 piece of gear.
What level do you need to be to take that drake? I'm a level 38 assassin and I'm barely denting his HP. I guess I could stack conqueror buffs if I had to. It bugs me to have to run from it.

Pioneer as a primary is shit, but as a secondary it is useful for tanks. HOW useful is of some question. I'm still playing with it. Scather/challenger is overused and boring. I can handle the ranged units, but I need that fighter out in front finding the meanest thing and keeping its attention.

I beat him at level 23 by cheesing it and getting him stuck on some trees and then peppering him with sixfold bolt while my pawns whacked his butt.
