Once people can start modding things it's in your best interest to replace pawn VOs with the Japanese ones because most of them will not shut the fuck up and Japanese is slightly less distracting than being told goblins hate fire eight thousand times.
They were removed for some reason. It's weird because when the game was first announced the steam store said there would be both JP and ENG VO.
It's due to licensing, voice acting in Japan is very expensive and involves a lot of complicated legal stuff especially when it comes to an international release.
They removed the Japanese VO, and also the Berserk armors and weapons I think. Made me sad at first but I realised that I can live without them.
I really do hope someone would be able to mod in the Berserk stuff, because seriously nothing beats being Guts wielding a huge ass sword.
I'm so fucking happy I get to play this gem on PC especially since I can't play my PS3 version anymore due to my console not being what it used to be. :joy:
Just noticed that it's #1 on the top sellers list on steam. I'm glad it's doing so well.
Hell yeah.
Maybe I'll try to get back into speedrunning this game, back when Speed Run Mode came out I think I was only like two minutes off the WR.

I kind of wish there was an option to just tone the Pawn speech down, rather than off entirely, because sometimes it can be useful. Also, I am shocked to see that my name is one of the monikers available in this game.
You can tell them to speak less often at the knowledge chair.
Oh, I haven't gotten that far yet. No idea what the knowledge chair is. :v: Also, did they add mounts to this game? It gets annoying having to run between areas and then run out of stamina all the time.

You'll need to use Portcrytals and Ferrystones if you want to quickly travel between areas.
Knowledge chairs are located at any place that you can rest in. You'll need to use Portcrytals and Ferrystones if you want to quickly travel between areas.
I don't think every place has one. Pretty sure The Encampment doesn't.
Not every place, I don't think. The Encampment doesn't have one.
Ah, your right about that. My mistake. To expand on the knowledge chair, your pawns will sometimes ask you the question, "I try to speak or remain silent as the situation demands. Would you have me continue in this way, Master?" You'll need to answer with, "No" in order for them to talk less.
welp, just pre-loaded it
Might as well post some pro tips from what I've learnt after a few hours of play; Classes in this game are called vocations (as you know from the OP), and each vocation has a rank between 1 and 10. You also have your level, which is tied to your character. This confused me a bit when I was starting out, but there's a difference. When you gain xp, your vocation will go up in rank, opening up more abilities for use. When you level up, your stats will change according to what vocation you are currently using, e.g. leveling up as a warrior will increase your health the most whilst leveling as a strider will raise stats evenly. Look at the stat growth page for specific info As far as I know minmaxing isn't that important (apart from 'grinding endgame Ur-dragon' whatever that means), and the gear you use has more of an effect on your attack/defense/magatk/magdef. It's probably still worth playing a vocation or two outside of your planned vocation just to get augments, which are special passives that are earned at certain vocation ranks but can be applied to your character regardless of vocation. As for quests you'll get them from NPCs with a green mark above their head and from notice boards (marked with an exclamation point on the map, but a few other things are as well). It's worth trying to complete most of the side quests in the area you are in before doing story quests, because some quests can get locked out as the story progresses. The kill X number of creatures quests can be accepted all at once, and completed over time. The escort quests you only get one chance at doing correctly, so plan well. It can be hard to tell which quests are story quests, but if it has anything to do with the dragon then it's probably a story quest. A big one a lot of people miss is the Lost and Found side quest - after leaving Cassardis for The Encampment, make sure you return to Cassardis (the starting village) as there are quests there that you should complete which open up more quests later in the game. Other than that you can play how you like really, there's just a risk of missing certain things that I wish I knew about. Oh, and save often (the game will let you know when a quest has been cancelled, but not if you never retrieved it off a notice board in the first place, for example)
Some notice board quests are also time limited, meaning if you don't take them and wait long enough they'll disappear even without story progress. Those are mostly escort quests though.
When was this port announced? I remember looking up this game because I was in a mood to play games like it after playing a bunch of Dark Souls and at the time (maybe a little over 6 months ago) a PC port was only a distant dream. I'm really happy I'm finally going to be able to play it though.
sometime around e3 i think
Did they decide to scrap the ferrystone being limited idea and add in the infinite ferrystone? Just noticed on in my storage which I assume came from the Dark Arisen expansion. I remember getting around being quite a pain when I played this on PS3 years ago.

Finally caved and pre-ordered Dogma. I never was able to play this all the way through on consoles, so I'm super excited.
Yeah, it's something they introduced in Dark Arisen, but I think yo ucould only get it if you had prior data from vanilla DD.
Good idea imo. If I recall right I stopped playing DD on PS3 because of the amount of boring travel was involved.
[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/tQINKQ7.jpg[/img_thumb] greetings from the everfall, it's time to farm
Yeah, it's something they introduced in Dark Arisen, but I think yo ucould only get it if you had prior data from vanilla DD.
They added decent armour in your storage as well. Protip; don't use it. It's much more fun to use shitty gear and go through the classic progression rather than wearing the best gear for hours. It's also nice to look different every now and then
That song isn't actually in the game, thus the *UNUSED* in the title. The Electric guitar is barely there in the version used in the game. Now me, I hope someone mods this in. Especially if we get it in better quality.
Why wasn't Dragon's Dogma Online release westward? The series was designed for the overseas market afterall. Maybe they thing we're a bunch of piggy antisocial bastards but World of Warcraft was a big success overhere... [editline]13th January 2016[/editline]
PC version has a feature to disables Pawns from speaking unless spoken to.
I just throw my Main Pawn off a cliff and play the game solo. Though I was on my 3rd playthrough when I started doing that.

Side note: I never really got far in this game because the platform made it really hard for me to play (shared xbox, responsibilities, location etc). What's the whole business with the everfall? Is it just a loot dungeon after you beat the main antagonist or something?

That's why it too years for Megaman 9 and 10 to exist, that's why the Resident Evil 2 remake is teased but never made. Capcom aren't kept in business by money, they're kept in business by feeding off the contempt of people who once liked them.

So I wonder, if PC is only just now getting a port of the game, doest that mean that Ur-Dragon will also start from gen 0, or is it shared between platforms?
