so after you kill big dragon and the sky turns green is the main quest finished or am i in some weird new game+ mode? because right now i'm falling down a hole and doing what feels like a boss rush mode and i'm very confused

You're in post-game. [sp]There is a pawn in the Everfall that asks you to retrieve a certain number of the same item. Maybe helping her will provide you a path forward.
Otherwise, Gransys itself has changed. It wasn't just harpies that were unleashed on Gransys when the Everfall opened. Other monsters lurk the land now.[/sp]

I didn't think I was spoiling any story related thing and tried to word it in such a way but I should have put SP in the first place. My bad.
I still haven't finished the story, [sp] please
i was exploring the [sp]post-game everfall while offline and accidentally found the chamber of lament. the huge roiling clouds in the sky and purple flames probably should have tipped me off but i walked all the way to the end and there was just three striders sitting there so i was at ease. suddenly, "Then you have come...Very well, Arisen."[/sp] i managed 3 minutes.
Somebody finally used my pawn and they sent them back with... a rock.

That's the [sp]Ur-Dragon, he's got 30 hearts and a bad attitude. The offline version is way easier but you won't get as many rewards, but you're guarenteed 20 wakestones and one of three end-game weapons. Online is a bit different, all the damage you do to him goes towards a global health pool that all active players take part in whittling down. After he goes down, he enters Grace Period, and you have a shot at killing him and getting huge rewards.[/sp]

I try to always give people at least something a little useful like food, it feels like a dick move to send them a rock or rotten apples or something. If a pawn was particularly helpful or I had a good haul of loot I give them something nicer.
Somebody finally used my pawn and they sent them back with... a rock.
That means they probably died and reloaded a save from before you got sent the item. Items sent before a save reload are turned into rocks to prevent item duping.

I usually give a golden egg to pawns I really like. Its not super valuable but its also not super common and the idea of someone giving you a golden egg is kind of a good one to get randomly.
How come people are calling post-dragon as post-game when there's clearly a story still being unfold? The main game is not finished
I like giving Crimson Dragon Scales to pawns I take a liking for. You can duplicate them at the Black Cat and I got so much money it's not an issue.
How come people are calling post-dragon as post-game when there's clearly a story still being unfold? The main game is not finished
i suppose it's because you COULD end the game after defeating the big bad dragon and it would still be all wrapped up
[sp]yeah the world would be forever fucked over, the city is mostly destroyed and the "post" dragon is still chilling downstairs, but you completed your main overall quest. becoming god is now just a hobby.[/sp]
How come people are calling post-dragon as post-game when there's clearly a story still being unfold? The main game is not finished
Because lore wise [sp]The arisen is chosen not to defeat the dragon, but to become a successor to GOD. The defeat of the dragon isn't the end[/sp]
I always assumed it was because of the limited nature of the everfall. Its only a small amount of levels that have a small amount of content to them. Yeah, the whole world map changes but quests arent really happening. It's a total tone shift.
I was farming level 3 armor and weapons when I finally got a Virge of Madness and went straight to dragonforging it. As soon as I got to Daimon all I had to do was climb on his weak points and just bash it for bars of health. It feels like cheating really.
Yeah which is why they can [sp]possess[/sp] them as well, but it doesn't make it less of a shitty inconvenience :v:
It's to make the combat interesting, nearly every attack that dragonkind use is triggered based off certain conditions, some are pretty simple (is there an enemy on my left), others are more complicated such as being caused by dealing damage in certain ways.
Protip, dragons never roar if you don't destroy their horns, also if you break a horn your pawns will yell 'THE HORN IS BROKEN', which gives you plenty of time to plan for the roar (your dragon will generally roar the first chance it gets after it's horn is broken)
So you can either plan to deal with it, or alternatively stunlock the dragon if able, I think if the dragon is stumbled/stunned for 5 or so seconds it won't roar.
It's pretty crazy how deep the boss encounters are.
Make sure to wear the Asura Armor for extra discipline points to spend once you're done farming.
Asura is 50% boost
Ring of perserverence is 50% boost
If you put on asura, then put on the ring you get 225% bonus (they multiply)
So I have a pretty severe problem with pawn AI. I've been trying to fix this for a week, reading up on pawn inclinations, talking to friends, searching other forums etc, it hadn't hit me that we'd obviously have a DD thread here too.
Basically, regardless of pawn inclinations they do these things:
Healing pawn(only support spells): They either do not heal at all, usually spam magick agent but cancel it. They do not dispell, they do not buff weapons in combat.
Sorc/Mage caster: They run into melee or close up to the enemies and then charge a long-cast spell, usually cancel it when it's almost done because they want to evade the enemy or they just get knocked over by the enemy. They will try to spellsync a lot, but they will fuck it up unless they get lucky. I am not joking about the melee part either, out of all pawns I have, a caster pawn always stays in melee range of my enemies, no one else does.
Archer-type: They will always zig zag back and forth with daggers, usually not attack for the entire fight, every minute or so they may shoot one of their favourite skills, depending on which pawn(one favored the blinding shot, another tenfold arrows). But they will not fire more often than that. Sometimes they attack in melee, but most of the time they just walk around inbetween me and the enemy.
Tanks/Warriors: They will taunt and run into the enemy, then run back behind me. They will repeat this behavior until I've thrown 'em off a cliff. No exceptions. If they find an explosive barrel they will usually throw it on me when I cast a spell, trying to aim for the enemy but since they're behind me and they can throw it maybe two meters, they hit me.

This is regardless of inclinations. I've tried everything I can find and that people tell me to do. My friends thinks my game is broken because this is just beyond messed up. I cannot figure it out and I don't even want to play this game anymore despite it being so cool, because every pawn I hire does everything in their power to fuck me over. On every bossfight I can actually see them run back to me every five seconds, if I yell "go" they will run back in, strike it once then run back to me again.
Every once in a blue moon they start working again. I'll see the support start buffing, dispelling, dps firing etc. This is usually on trashy mobs like goblins and weaker stuff in BBL. But once I end up on an real encounter(anything not a saurian or goblin) they stop working again. This got far worse in BBL as well, but I don't think it's a mob knowledge thing because by now they have extreme amounts of experience with every monster I fight. And even if they don't, why would they stop buffing and just run back to me?
Have you ever used the tenacity augment?
[editline]6th February 2016[/editline]
Because that permanently breaks your game.
I don't have that yet, thanks for the warning though.
It doesn't break like that, anyway. What sometimes happens is that the augment revives you, but the game still treats you as dead. Pawns won't heal or support you, sometimes they won't do anything at all, enemies don't attack you etc.

And it stays broken if you happen to save the game when it activates. If the pawns are acting like you're dead and the game saved and you reload that save they will still act like that. Aka the game is now broken.
On the topic of healer pawns, i've actually had several that would actively dispell ailments, saved my ass a lot if i forgot Secret Softeners. It's definitely true that they rarely buff in combat though, but if you're a Mystic Knight this is little issue.

Mages can't dispel petrification though. Only Magick Archers and Sorcerers can.

I'm fairly certain it had to have been something a hired Mage had done, unless they picked up something i missed.

Never heard of anything like this before but have you tried moving to NG+ or getting a friend to send you their save file and see if the problem is still there?
Side note but overall the pawn AI performs rather poorly in BBI compared to the main game, although not as severely as you're describing. As an example, whereas pawns usually can wander a lot farther away from you while fighting bosses (easily noticeable fighting the dragon) that doesn't happen against some of the BBI bosses like Daimon or some wandering minibosses, so if you're a ranged class they tend to just stick close and not do anything unless you periodically use the Go command
My pet peeve is that they never seem to learn moves. Like, Urdy's big AoE spam you with light bullets attack, they always stand directly in it and i constantly have to save them.
Are those chests near water in BBI just supposed to fucking eat your pawns up? Everytime I open them a pawn HAS to get their grubby hands on that item and ends up jumping into the brine. Lost a good ranger that way and couldn't remember their name.

You can search for recently hired pawns.

There is a last hired pawns option in rift stone.
So I got this game and started hard mode, and it kind of put me off because I pretty much get instakilled a majority of the time, should I restart the save at normal mode in the beginning? Or should I keep powering on?
Only got like 5 hours in.

If you're not having fun, just do normal mode. You might still get your ass kicked for a while until you really learn how the game plays and what class works for you best.

Doing hard mode on a fresh save is generally for people who have already played through the game before. It's possible, but the game will be much more fun if you play on normal for your first playthrough.
