Ah, dearest pawns, what a joy you are...
"Do you hear that, Master? Tis a Deer, one can tell from the delicate flapping of wings and the slight sounds of fiery discharge. Beautiful creatures, they."
*half of forest on fire*
Okay so, I started a NG+ and I guess at this point its just more convenient to just go straight through the main quest over and over again? Currently Lv. 55 and BBI is still a mother fucker to me, what's the recommended level threshold for it?

70+, higher if you want to not get killed every 3 steps.

Also if you're doing NG+ you might as well bump it up to hard mode. Enemies do more damage, but they have the same amount of health and you get double xp.

Just fucking man up and do it.
Once you get too overlevelled and geared for BBI it gets a little bit boring (til you have to fight 2 dragons + adds at once), savor the asswhuppin' I say

Just fucking ragequit because of death, but not because he killed my party.
I fucking spent 4 rancid bait meats and the fucker would *not* spawn.
Fuck you death.
Fuck youuuu

Don't you have to start a new game for that though, as in, completely new?
Don't you have to start a new game for that though, as in, completely new?
Yeah this is what I thought. The difficulty setting in the option only switches between easy and normal, I tried.
No it's not "completely new" it's like NG+ but you're just doing the hardmode difficulty. You keep all your shit.

How do I do this, just hard mode and then 'start from cleared game'?
Also can I do this after already starting a normal NG+ or do I have to finish the main quest again?

Just go to the main menu and click on hard mode, it's simple.

I started in hard.:weeb:
This might be a long shot but has anyone got a decent enb preset to go with this game? or a link to any mods that make it look better? I want to play through it again.
Is the game worth picking up? I loved Skyrim and Fallout. Also played Witcher 3 but for some reason i didn't enjoy it as much. I also thought Dragon Age was fun
Dragon's Dogma is great but it pretty much nothing like any of those games. It's more like if a Japanese dev tried to make a crossover of Berserk, DnD, and Monster Hunter (though it isn't nearly as slow as MH).
There are some things to keep in mind going in:
You can change your class for a cost, but you have to reach Gran Soren about an hour or so into the story so pick a playstyle you generally like first.
Fast travel is very limited. You need to use riftstones to fast travel and they are limited (though you also get an unlimited riftstone after a while). You can only fast travel to portcrystals, there are 2 placed by default that you can't move, and there are 7 you can find during each NG cycle if you're incredibly thorough. You'll probably get 3 or 4 in a regular playthrough.
Night time is very dangerous, this isn't a game where you can piss about all day. You're supposed to plan out your day and try to get to safety before night. Though like most games you do eventually over level everything.
The starting abilities are boring and practical, the later abilities are fucking rad but risky.
You have 3 AI pawns who do your bidding (they try to at least), one is your main pawn you can customise while the others are hired from other players, pawns above your level cost rift crystals don't bother hiring them. You can hire a friend's pawn for free not matter how high a level they are.
Finally, if static enemy placement is an annoyance for you then you may hate this game, as the vast majority of enemies on the map are in set locations. There are 'random' ambushes and enemies who roam around a bit too though.

I highly recommend the game. Especially because I want them to make a sequel.
[sp]Come on Capcom, I've bought the game 3 times. Give me another one.[/sp]

DD is more about combat and fashion than exploration, which is the common thread in the games you like.
The story is good (though it takes a long time to really kick into gear, when it does holy sheeeeet)
Basically, do you want to climb on dragons, cut their hearts out and then jump off just as the beast hits the ground?
Do you want to fire 10 explosive arrows at once at some poor shmuch?
Do you want to summon giant tornados that fling even the largest enemies into the sky?
Do you want to throw snakes at people?
If you answered yes to any of the above, DD is probably for you

wickfutENB is what I use currently, but there are quite a few good ones on the Nexus.

If you have enough friends with good pawns, then yes. Otherwise, I do recommend hiring pawns a couple of levels higher (no more than 5+), as ones that are the same level or lower tend to drag things down a bit.
Higher leveled pawns make you get less xp from combat. Lower levels/few pawns increases the xp you get. It's the main reason I never take high level pawns as it slows down progression.

So I guess hiring the level infinity random pawn I found wasn't so great an idea, eh?
why are there so many creeps that make really questionable pawns
This is why you make your pawn normal and your arisen the questionable one.
Then nobody knows

Unless they're playing New Game+ online. Then they get treated to the sight of [sp]The Seneschal[/sp] wearing nothing but a silver chestplate and the silk lingere.
Which, as I stated earlier in this thread, exactly what I did so... Sorry, whoever has to bear witness to that.
why are there so many creeps that make really questionable pawns
Eh, you get used to it after a while. I've been playing since it released on consoles and I don't bat an eye at that shit anymore.
Of course I don't hire them either, because they're usually shit pawns as well. Go figure :v:
Take comfort in knowing midget pawns are objectively worse than anything else
I don't remember the details but although short pawns have benefits, you make them too short and they only gain drawbacks, especially for melee classes since it affects their range
Are there any worthwhile mods about?
Are there any worthwhile mods about?
Not really. There's a few slight tweak mods out there but nothing substantial. Play the game vanilla first and then use any tweak mods later.

Already played the game to death on consoles.

There are a few nice ENBs on that site as well, but this mod is essential.

What even are ENBs?
What even are ENBs?
Graphics "enhancers"
ENB is a collection of visual effects created by Boris Vorontsov. It overhauls everything from anti-aliasing and depth of field to lighting and water.
