for console, just add it to launch options then you can remove it once it's enabled. some launch options require that they stay in there, such as "-override_vpk" You should also have that in your launch options too.
Okay, I've finally updated the Lion mod correctly.
It worked wonders. The hat is now attached to the shoulders. Couldn't it be attached to the head? If it was, there wouldn't be any clipping issues with any sets.

He's the one that attached the hat on the shoulders.
Couldn't it be attached to the head? [editline]6th December 2013[/editline] Nevermind, his old hat is still in the game files, he just has no default head item in the items_game.txt.. weird. So the shoulder hack is the only way to get his hat to show.

If it was, there wouldn't be any clipping issues with any sets.
I think the reason it clips with hat cosmetics is because of bodygroups. When I used the old lion's models, the hat wasn't there at all, which made me believe that they just removed the hat bodygroup since his new head model is hatless. When I would put the eyeball hat on in the old version, it would remove the hat. Since this is attached to the shoulders, it doesn't get removed on adding a hat. Does it get removed if you attach a shoulder item? Also is there like a script that could be edited to re=enable lion's hat bodygroup if what I'm theorizing is correct?
Probably if you just add a default head item section in the items_game.txt it would re-add the old functionality. It's just that new items are added to the game so often, you would need to update it pretty often.
Editing items_game definitely apply while playing online. I've modded the acana lina item to be the default item for me before and it worked fine.

The only helmet equipment Lion has needs the default hat to be removed. So attaching his hat in the head instead of the shoulder, should fix every clipping problems.

The hat will still clip with any head cosmetics most likely, but it already does, so having it attached to his head instead of his shoulders would at least fix the hat disappearing when you equip a shoulder cosmetic.

I will stick with the bald lion for a while.
Did some of u guys already found a old early beta rikimaru model?
Did some of u guys already found a old early beta rikimaru model?
There doesn't seem to any older versions of dota floating around that are before last year's frostivus.
If anyone wants to put the Sing Sing Helmet on Mirana here are the files needed to do so. Someone will have to run these through the workshop in order to get the compiled data, but you have what you need to do so in the zip; HERE Sorry I didn't include the compiled data, I dont have the time myself right now, but all you need to do is run it though the workshop to get them, easy peasy for you guys. For those who dont know what that is, it's does this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LjiA_9acEU Sadly the base texture skin has been lost to the wonders of the internet.
This is great! We're recovering ancient pieces of history. How about Earthshaker, Puck and Shadow Fiend's old model?
This is great! We're recovering ancient pieces of history. How about Earthshaker, Puck and Shadow Fiend's old model?
I have all of those with the exception of Shadow Fiend. It would be pretty buggy since Earthshaker's older model isn't split; and possibly has no faceposing.
I managed to use that scene file to fix Storm's portrait. Now all we need is to decrease the model size from 1.15 to 0.85 and the mod will be fully working! I can live without the Overload animation.
Is it posible to make the early beta minimap? The minimap right now is better but i want to restore dota to the time i started playing it.

Because the model was updated due to the Three Spirits Update. EDIT: Yes, it does break Ember and Earth. They do no talk anymore. The model size can be decreased in npc_heroes.txt I think. EDIT 2: Anybody knows where are the choreography files? (.vcd) Maybe it is fixable.

BlackAwps is right about the old scenes.image. Not using it results in fixes the other two Spirits voices but in the process breaks Storm's expressions. I also edited the portraits script, replacing the new storm's portrait settings with the old one as well as fixes all the portraits on Earth Spirit and Ember Spirit. I've uploaded the scripts here, maybe you could use them in the GameBanana mod? http://www.megafileupload.com/en/file/476680/npc-heroes-txt.html http://www.megafileupload.com/en/file/476684/portraits-txt.html EDIT: I tried a normal matchmaking game and Storm's model was back to giant size... hmmm.
I have been interested in Dota 2 HUDs (and modeling if I ever could learn it) for a while. Decided to post my first reasonable try here for criticism. It is based off the Default HUD though. Any tips on HUDs in general would be appreciated! (I'd rather be able to make a HUD from scratch than being a customized version of the default HUD) http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=202157601

Maybe we can rebuild it. Maybe Valve didn't put it in the vpk though.

Any of you know if you can put transparency in items in-game? I was trying to test it by making a "weapon" that was just a long narrow rectangle and messing with the texture files I made for it both before and after running them through the compiler in the game, but I can't figure it out. Putting all of the files back into the workshop thing ingame after every little change I make is taking a while.
Earth Spirit's portrait got changed in the Test Client if you guys wanna make a mod to keep the old one, save the files now.
Would it be possible to mod Skelly's old model and voice back in? Wraith King was the worst possible thing to do to the KING OF BONES
