Dota 2 Mod Index (Custom Skins, HUDs, Models, Particles and Animations)

I just made my first three successful sound mods. I was wondering if I could get help with actually finding out what's the best way to distribute these files? I've never done anything like this in a while.
The first two replace the Radiant and Dire victory themes with the German and Russian victory themes from Call of Duty : World at War. Then I combined the sound of DP's Exorcism with the death music in World of Warcraft, which actually sounds pretty fucking cool. I know there's a way that I can link a preview, but I don't know how to do that. Any help?
Well, for a preview, just make a video and upload it to youtube.
For the actual mods, just make separate folders for each individual mod. Make sure you include the directories like sound/whatever and maybe include a readme for them.
Guys, is it possible to change the colors of particles? I mean, if I want to change Lina's ult from white/blue to black/red, would that be possible and what would I have to do?

I believe it is possible, and you can do it with some kind of particle editor.
If I recall well, SFM has a particle editor, but I´m not sure if it would work with Dota 2 completely.

My first thought was that the Gargantua looked like Roshan when I first played black mesa

I've never tried editing dota 2 particles, but couldn't you open them in the tf2 particle editor? I know TF2 has a particle editor that you can use by just putting something like -tools into the launch options for it and launching the game.

Every heard of legends of dota? Pictured is a skill and hero selector -- you get to "design" your own hero by selecting 4 skills :P
Decided to release this private mod I made for friends and myself.

I'm using the Alien Swarm SDK Particle Editor for Dota 2's particles. It's still buggy though like you can't change the textures of the same model like from Storm Spirit to his static remnant form and the cosmetics disappear when you use a hero as an effect (ex. Anti-Mage's Blink).

That multicast icon made this mod 100% worth downloading.
Did the recent update fix the soundcache problem?
no

someone has to tell valve about it. i had expected somebody to tell them by now.

I fixed it my self. Just download all the original sounds and then replace the ones you want. Open dota 2 and type in console snd_rebuildaudiochace

Good idea, my mods work perfectly now and all I had to do was take the sound files out the vpk..
This does make me wonder though. The lip movement in portraits doesn't work for a lot of the heroes if you have -override_vok in launch options, butmaybe there's some kind of file you can take out of the vpks too that'll fix their portrait mouth movement?

Nah. There's no way to fix that at this moment in time.
Only happens on heroes with heads separate from the basemesh mind you. Luna, Invoker, and OD in particular are the worst cases of this.

Idk how it is in your situation but by putting all the original sounds in there and replacing them did work for me. I have no problems with the not moving mouths, everything works fine for me.
Do you guys know how to record or edit portrait videos?

I got the voices and captions working 100% ages ago.

So I give it a try and after a match with the good ol' king headbutting enemies instead of hitting them with his sword, running at low health with his sword as a flagstand, talking with his mind and doing the naruto run when he pick up a haste...
I glad this somewhat works, I miss the only true king. Kudos to anyone who made this, at least is something for the good old times of bone puns.

Oh and now Pugna is his big bro, for some odd reason he is small as Pugna inside a rabbit hole.
So I've been working on getting the old stuff that was missing from the skeleton king mod to work. So far I've got him at pretty much full return except maybe two bugs:
1. Eyes still don't glow in game, but glow in the loadout screen. No idea what could be causing it.
2. Sometimes he does not say any voice lines. My guess is because the game is trying to say a wraith king line that skeleton king doesn't have listed in his scripts.
3. the particles from his ult cause a bunch of red Xs. His attack animation particles also cause red Xs, but only in online games
Here's some screenshots of the stuff I got working:

I know how to change the ability names and his name back to skeleton king, but it'd get annoying having to edit that particular file every time something little is added, so I may not bother.
As you can see, he's basically completely skeleton king again aside from the non glowing eyes and name stuff. I'll post an updated version of the mod here if I can figure out how to fix the stuff, but I won't upload it to gamebanana without the creator's permission.

I think the best solution to the particle issue would be to find someone who can edit wraith king's new particles to look stylized like Skeleton king's particles, and maybe make the ghostly aura that follows him invisible.

I got a problem: Im trying to replace WK/SK reincarnation horn with the one from Wraith knight boss round but both sounds overlap each other.
Any way to mute the original horn?
Replace the original one with a sound file that has no noise?
Also, if you get it working, could you post it here cause I'd like the wraith night horn sound too.
[editline]5th February 2014[/editline]
also, wraith king's particles kind of fit skeleton king well since he has the vampiric aura that makes his attacks have the green lifesteal anyway, but the red theme would still be nice to see back.

I'm still confused. Do you have to open the vpk file? Which one? Do I just place the necrolyte file into sound, type in snd_rebuildaudiocache into the console? I tried that and some sounds are missing.

You open pak01_dix.vpk and take all the sounds out of the sound folder and put it into your steam directory sound folder so that once you rebuildcache, it will include those sound files that would go missing because they're in your steam folder, just like how it would include the sound mods you have because it's in your steam folder.
You don't need to open the vpk for voice lines and take the voice sounds out though because when you rebuild the audio cache it keeps the voice sounds, but not all the other ones.
I'll mention this though: Since I moved all the sound files, I've noticed some slight loading lag between character select and spawning. I don't know if it has to do with that, or if some update screwed it up because it used to happen to me when I didn't have a whole lot of sound mods, but had a couple of reskins like red silencer and classic lion. Also less portraits seem to not move their mouths to their speech than usual when I have override_vpk on, so I'm not sure if that's related to the sound overhaul or if override_vpk is just getting worse after every update.
