Anyone Know how replacing default skin with dota slasher by Golden item of Gold Trove Cask
I find just for No golden skin
earn them the regular way

theres been lots of mods for items in the game, like golden baby rosh replacement mod (same with all the expensive couriers) and the like

it's a stupid mod and on top of that there is an ingame glitch that does the same thing
Personally, I feel like replacing regular things with something ingame that's rare is stupid because it ruins the novelty of the actual item, and only you see it.
In actuality though, these things are still mods, but just really stupid ones for the reason I stated. I'd explain how to do what you asked if I knew how.
Also, how much did those golden trove things cost at the actual TI secret shop? Were they still 200 bucks?

You get golden troves from golden demiheroes which you sometimes get when opening demiheroes which can be purchased for I believe 15$ each (Not sure about this at all though)
Also, maybe he really likes the looks of a golden item (I hope it's gravelmaw) and wants to see that effect instead of the normal fissure when playing with, against or as Earthshaker?
Are custom sounds completely out of the picture now? Every time I rebuild my sound cache [del]with any sound mod in the files[/del] at all it completely breaks almost every sound in the game bar announcers and voice lines, and I need to verify my game cache to fix it.
Or is that just override_vpk being broken
When dealing with sound mods, you need to take every file from the sound folder inside of the" pak01_dir.vpk" file that's in your dota folder and put them into the sound folder outside of the vpk. (dota 2 beta/dota/sound). If you don't do that before rebuilding cache, pretty much every audio file that isn't related to voice lines won't work.
I think you also have to get the voice files from the "sound_vo_english_dir.vpk" file in order to get the for some of the characters to move when they speak with override_vpk enabled, but I'm not too certain about that. You also have to add the sounds every time new ones are added. For example, if Techies gets any new sounds that aren't in the game in already when he's released, you'll have to take them out of the vpk and put them into your "dota/sound/<whatever directories>" folder.
I really wish we could somehow pressure Valve to fix override_vpk because it's really annoying how buggy sound modding on it has been since that patch a long time ago, but it seems like they don't have enough interest to take care of it.

Thanks for letting me know. I didn't realize sound mods were that broken until I tried fixing one of mine earlier. I've heard about override_vpk causing a bunch of little problems so it would be nice if valve would fix it already.
Those golden Skellie's from the golden Pale Mausoleum are pretty rad. The tombstone coloring itself is a bit off putting though
How do I change the main menu background? I tried using -dashboard frostivus_2013, but it didn't worked.
Also, I changed the Roshan model to the Mega Greevil, but he's really small. How do I fix these?
Question: is it possible to adjust the scale of an in-game model without having to recompile it entirely?

Wanna fix old storm model? You can modify npc_heroes.txt, but this will only works in local games, so, you need recompile model if you want to use it in online games.

valve disabled -dashboard command. to make mega greevil bigger you need recompile his model and adjust his scale.

if you're gonna mod dragon knight, I request a mod that changes the black outlines on his model to be gold outlines like on his hero icon

Doesn't have to be particles, but at the moment it looks kinda meh. Adding in "eyes" would make it look like the portrait.
