Hi folks, Some of you may have seen my recent release of [url=http://mods.tf]mods.tf[/url]. I'm looking into expanding the service to Dota 2 very soon and as such would appreciate any and all gold star/imported workshop zips that you guys could send me, for purposes of testing. Thank you.

So i've been snooping around the game files, and there's something i'm unclear on. The particle systems are stored in their .pcf files, the attachment points are part of the model from the QC file, but where is the information saying which particles attach to which attachment points when they are called on? I assumed it would be in a script somewhere but i couldn't find anything except the portrait particles in npc_heroes.txt and the particle replacements for cosmetics in items_game.txt. Where is the file that says "When Storm Spirit is overloaded, attach the stormspirit_overload_ambient particle to the attachment point on his hand?"

I know that cape is a cosmetic item ([url]http://dota2.gamepedia.com/Cape_of_Arcane_Artistry[/url]) and that invoker's cape physics along with a lot of others have been changed over time.

after new update (TY VELVE) some sounds and music got missing from my game, also some heroes stopped moving their mouths and also velve removed commands like updateaudiocache or rebuildaudiocache from dota. i've tried to delete modelsounds.cache from "dota" folder but this doesn't help. how to repair this shit?

You'll be hard pressed to find anyone willing to release their cosmetic items outside of the workshop. Those that I've met outright oppose the very idea. Still don't understand why. Plus modding dota2 becomes less powerful over time since valve keeps breaking -override vpk The only modding you can do in dota2 at the moment is custom gamemodes, maps, animations, models, and textures. Editing particles usually doesn't work and Sound modding has become more and more broken with each passing update.

As for lack of interest, I'm hoping that the ease of use will kick start interest.

An example being custom particles for Pudge work where as custom particles for Drow usually won't.

I wouldn't say he should give up, Maruhai. A place to store mods that isn't a mediafire link or gamebanana would be nice. However. As of now there's little to put on it and little that can be done to change that.
