Was queuing with some friends that are new to R6S for some casual and somehow I have managed to pull off some sick recruit rush
Recruit rush is seriously some 'there is no spoon' shit :dog:

Isn't most m+k for console just emulated input? As in you still get that weird sloggish analog feeling when you drag your mouse across
ranked is still in beta after a year :v:
👏 Ubisoft! 👏
My friends and I ended up playing the most ridiculous game last night. We were on Skyscraper, friend was playing Valk and was the only one alive. Twitch decides to rush with around ~30s left on the clock and she gets downed. Instant win, right? Nope. Instead, my friend gets downed with her, and they're sitting literally parallel to one another on the objective, staying completely still. Dead silence, staring into one anothers eyes. It was hilarious. Everyone in my TeamSpeak went apeshit when the clock hit 0, but guess what -- the match still wasn't over. Instead, the game was hinged on who bled to death first.
Twitch slipped and stopped holding F, then died. We won. It was match point.

Just had a match where it felt so unfair I had to draw it out to vent. It was a Bank bomb defusal where the bombs' in office, we spawned at sewer and some spawn peeking ass clown caught me off guard and I took some potshot. My team were clever enough to not give-in to their peeking initiative advantage and took a detour to sewer since its the other way without exposing ourselves and we ran into a Bandit Call-of-Dutying us down because SMG > Assault rifles

Wyd in this situation? Ubisoft why can't we pick our own spawn in casual
I know this thread defends spawn peek but its just such an annoying meta thats fundamentally rooted in the game
SMG has much higher fire rate than an Assault Rifle, so in CQB it'll come out on top. Assault Rifles are better for longer ranges cause they have less damage drop off and are more accurate. So waltzing into sewers when there's a Bandit in there without first flashing him or droning it (after the first unfortunate guy died to him) is your fault entirely. If a teammate of mine died in the Sewers, I'd have thrown a drone in, tried to spot the Bandit sneakily, and then spam flashed him before going in and blowing his goofy head off.
As for the spawn peeking, that shit sucks. I hate when people do it cause it's super lame, I've died to it a fair few times, even when I'm actively wary of it.
So yeah, seeing that pic, all I'd say is "you did the right thing by going through sewers, but you shoulda been smarter about taking that Bandit out".

Buck gets a Ghost Recond Wildlands bundle.
yet he gets no uniform so that it doesnt look like complete shit
idk why ubisoft is allergic to adding more uniforms to characters who have none like jaeger and bandito
Y'all love to play the hypotheticals and talk shit about strat after the fact. Bank is garbage for spawn points, as you will get murked regardless of where you go. I would assume Bandit ran out into the sewer when they dropped to attacked them, rather than way for them to come up. That spawn is still trash though. Rappel is killed by lobby peek. Going front door is killed by front door/window peaks. Tunnel is a huge choke point, or if they rush out at you it's just game over.

The XIM4 is different. Only reason it works be slogging is because is acceleration, which Siege has tons of on console.

Thing is we have like 3 guys sweeping the room. Ash, me as Fuze and some other guy; we still get lol-sprayed by the MP7 and there really isn't many gadgets to help in that situation, not to mention how shit stun grenades are
why the hell doesnt this game have any sort of rejoin option? its ridiculous.

I sorta feel for you, stun grenades aren't great but they work really well for forcing an enemy to turn around, so you gotta be in on the nades heels to punish them before they can turn around and clock you. I usually throw an initial nade, then peek and throw a nade right at their feet. They'll be well and truly blinded.

My friend and I got banned from ranked for 15 mins cause we both got a disconnect at the same time (everyone started rubberbanding and then disconnect). We reconnected and it kept us in the lobby for 3 minutes before we said fuck it. Next time we tried to join ranked, it said we were banned. Just lol

Watching players like MacieJay and Serenity makes things look so easy. I wish I was their level of good. I'ma utilise peeking more and not be so afraid. Aggression pays off more often than not, and changing up your attack positions is key. I tend to turtle and keep trying to hammer through the initial attack point, which is a death sentence cause everyone is zoned in on that spot. Macie and Serenity always quick attack, reposition, then hit again.
The shit I dislike most about this game is how noob unfriendly it is.
Adding a map overlay ingame would go a long way in helping newer players not get fucked as hard tbh
I bought the game when it first came out and I have good enough knowledge of the original maps to know which rooms lead to which but I stopped playing after a two or three months.
Revisiting now and I get fucked so hard on the dlc maps by players with much higher playtime than me it's ridiculous, I can't imagine how its like buying the game and having to deal with that shit on every single map.

The way I started to learn maps was using the compass and cameras/drones. Game gives you plenty of time so just take it nice and slow.
for some reason I no longer get my framerate shat on at favela, but instead it drops on cafe? anyone else with this issue or is it just me lmao
Wasn't it taken out of beta and promptly placed back into it?
yup in S3 they immediately put it back into beta in S4

As someone with three friends learning the game, it's not that difficult. They all do walkthroughs of the maps in private games.
I think not having a minimap/radar is purposeful, means you have to rely on communication more. I do agree that it would make learning maps easier but on the other hand they're so vertical that they'd all be as bad as CS's nuke. That plus going on r6maps.com or loading a custom game with 10min rounds isn't that difficult and goes a long way.

I've found Terrorist Hunt to be a good way of learning maps. The objective rooms stay the same, but the terrorists will set themselves up in such obscure locations that you're forced to meticulously go through every room in the map.

I once found three terrorists in a boarded up closet.
What the hell were they doing in there?

they tend to spawn either in preset locations, or around your location. This is why there will always be 1-2 barbed wire and nitro filled rooms, and why the last 3 will almost always spawn next to a player and run toward them, its just how their weird botness works
Yeah, but how about adding a map in-game so players can learn more quickly while playing?
yeah..... no part of the skill is knowing the maps, knowing the maps entails walking through them a couple of times in a private game or just playing casual and learning by doing adding a map would lower the ceiling again
An ingame map would not benefit veteran players who already know the maps. I fail to see how it would lower the skill ceiling. It would lower the skill floor, reducing the learning curve. It would be much easier for new players to memorize the map if they had at least the general layout of the rooms and halls. Of course they could walk through each and every map to attempt to memorize the entirety of them, but there's no guarantee casual players will do that. It's more beneficial to the game that everyone learns the maps more quickly.
i fail to see when you'd look at that map when in all that time you could be doing something useful like holding an angle or droning
Map would clutter the already cramped screen
I mean maybe the m key would open it, but it would be easier if they just had some sort of training practice area where you could freely switch operators, get infinite ammo, etc.
I feel like if I had a map I could use to see where I'm aiming through a wall (like certain corners or hiding spots) it would take some of the charm and challenge from learning the maps and getting really good at knowing what's on the other side of the wall.
Now if there were an operator whose 'thing' was access to a minimap...
A map function for no other sake than to assist new players in a game with no other mechanics to do so would come across as "tacked on" in regular play. I'm not opposed to the idea, but I think a map function wouldn't be the first newbie assisting feature that needs to be implemented into siege if it was going to get any at all.
If you're going to start discussing that topic, you'd want to start with more basic things. Interactables highlights/tooltips, for example. Hell, siege desperately needs to update it's tutorial videos before they do anything else. That thing is bare bones.
