most annoying thing is the ADS doesn't catch em all, and it's always the one that gets through coincidentally being the one to bounce to your feet.
or if it doesn't hit you, it manages to destroy your ADS machines
Jager's ADS also catches fuze's cluster pucks, but I don't think it catches thatcher's emp grenades.
It catches everything
it targets hibana's charges too
people have recently started using hibana charges to clear jager devices so they can smoke objectives n stuff without having to waste time + smokes, since each hibana charge has 6 projectiles they can technically exhaust all of jager's devices at once if they're along the flight path of the charge

wait, what? Hibana charges actually shoot projectiles? I've been on the other end of a hibana charge and AFAIK they just blew up with a small blast radius.

I think he means shooting the charges into the room to make the ADS destroy them.
I've never seen ADS shoot at Hibana charges.

it does
I've never seen ADS shoot at Hibana charges.
It's something to behold when a Jager places the ADS's close and you get all three with just one hibana charge.

When putting down cover fire in any competitive game I'm a fan of shooting in the rhythm of the Battlefield theme :v:
so what the fuck did they do to casual because i'm getting put up against high platinum and diamond players and i constantly get kicked out of matches for not doing well
so what the fuck did they do to casual because i'm getting put up against high platinum and diamond players and i constantly get kicked out of matches for not doing well
the most fun experience i had today was me (level 60) getting thrown into a match with level 5-30s on my team while the other team had golds and plats
jk it wasnt fun

pretty sure matchmaking is still "let's take the first 10 people waiting and throw them into a match without any sense of team balancing"
One of the issues that we are seeing from the community is the change to Casual matchmaking pairing players up with similarly skilled players. The change that was implemented was an adoption of your Ranked MMR into the Casual playlist.
the second part of the post about changing how matches are queued also explains why i've been getting long queue times in casual too
it used to toss me in right away, now i'm lucky if i even get a game in progress without waiting 5 minutes
No wonder all of my games were even and enjoyable today.

should make it so the clip lasts a little longer so we can see if you actually got a round win point. I've seen it happen before but the point still goes to the right team. MacieJay was last one alive on Secure Area as Attacker. The Secure bar filled all the way up and then he killed the last enemy but got downed himself. It said Round Lost, but next round, they actually had the win point.

Rest in peace. That fucking sucks.

Any tips (or links to guides / operator guides) for a new pvp player? Previously just done heaps of terrorist hunt with a friend.

Learn the maps. Know what room connects to where, what walls lead to where, how to flank (including dropping between floors to quickly cross a map). This allows you to have more control over any situation, and will minimise that panicky feel of "where the fuck did that guy come from?" that new players can have. You've played t-hunt so you might have this down already, but it's important to know.
Learn to use sound. I'm only very low rank (low gold) but I get heaps of kills just by sitting behind a corner, then listening for when I think the enemy has moved out of cover or something, and then I pop out and blast them. Works really well thanks to peekers advantage, only fails if they drone me out, in which case it is best to change position (unless you feel extra cheeky). On the flipside, learn to minimise how much sound you make. If you are hiding, don't shuffle about and adjust aim and shit a lot. People can hear you. Sit still. Don't even fucking breathe.
Once you learn the sounds, you will be able to hear things like pulse pulling out his gadget, people getting on cams/drones, etc... fuck them up while they are on their phones if you are close enough.
Learn when to push someone and when not to. If someone has just sprayed his whole mag into a door, he could be reloading, or stuck with a pistol. If he is alone, might be worth rushing his ass. I don't see this as often with better players, but heaps of new players love to spray if they catch a glimpse of you.
Also remember don't just reload when there is an enemy possibly about to push you. Especially if you have like 15 bullets left. You only need 1-4 hits to kill someone, you don't always need to have a full mag. It can trigger me when I see people reload or switch to secondary when they still have 10+ bullets in their rifle. Especially if they suck with said secondary, it would be fine if they were a one-tap god, but usually they aren't.
Play ranked. Casual can be a bit messy (better now that people are matched with similar ranks I feel). Once you get your rank you will generally be placed with other people appropriate for your skill. Don't worry too much about losing, try to have fun. If you are like me, when I first started pvp I was very nervous, that really doesn't help (shaky hands when I'm nervous is terrible for my aim), but it goes away once you get used to it. I used to get the shakes so hard that I'd have to stop playing after 2 or three rounds. Alcohol might help too haha. If you end up higher rank than me, disregard all my advice I guess. You might actually be very good already.
Might have very long queue times (5mins is good in my opinion, can be much longer), especially in Australia. Even casual has long times for us though.
I used to watch videos from like Serenity, Macie Jay, etc, to try to learn stuff, and sometimes I pick things up, but these days I don't bother so much, just play the game and learn it in there. Unless you have heaps of free time, then feel free to become Siege 24/7.
Hopefully you get into pvp and enjoy it though. Siege is by far my favourite game so far, even if I'm not great at it. Bought it on release, and 'only' have 250 hours in pvp, but that number will continue to rise until the game dies.
Thanks! Super useful. I find casual matches pair really quickly in NZ, like 2-3 mins max.
How do you deal with shields? Is it better to not shoot, meaning you don't have to reload (where they can put it down and aim), or try and get them in the foot or something?
[editline]6th May 2017[/editline]
Also, I've noticed people like shooting the bottom of walls out and shooting or crawling out from there. What's the dynamics of that?
Thanks for new avatar material
The current casual matchmaking makes me feel really bad; I never play ranked so i'm unranked, but im now level 119 being paired with below level 40s. It doesn't take much effort to outplay the other team, it just feels bad

Siege is 90% game sense. Spend a lot of time getting to know the maps, do custom game walkthroughs, learn where cameras are, where objectives are, what walls you can blow up, just get to know the maps really well and it will get you far. Also, use sound.

I'm in the opposite situation. It takes me ages to find a casual match, and when I finally get in, it's nothing but diamonds and platinums that shit on me before I can even see them half the time. I'm in gold, but it feels like the gap between gold and platinum is huge and everyone I go up against is playing casual like it's ranked 2.0.
It's just not fun.
