Oh, casual got ranking too now? That explains why I suck all of a sudden v:v:v
[t]https://i.redd.it/ldkuajdxeowy.png[/t]
I queued up casual and immediately got put in a lobby with a 208 plat with a 2.2 K/D and a 215 plat with a 2.4 K/D. What in the shit.
[editline]10th May 2017[/editline]
Second game put a 269 and 270 plat on my team. What the fuck Siege.
From a scrub's perspective (i.e. me), it makes sense to do the casual match making. If new players come in and get stomped for 3/5 times, it's not the most fun.
There's learning the game and having fun, and there's getting absolutely demolished every game.
I think casual should group with playing time factored in. I know it opens the door for smurfs, but pitting someone with moderate experience against someone with extensive experience is always a smash waiting to happen.
I'm a level 177 or something like that at plat 2 with a 1.6 K/D, so I'm a fairly good player. But being matched up with guys that are clearance level 250 and above is insanity. I had a buddy who is a level 130 get matched up with a team of 300+ the other day, which is unbelievable. While rank is certainly an important aspect of judging teams, time spent playing almost certainly needs to be taken into account.
My experience gap over players who are below 125 is obvious. I can't imagine how someone feels going into a game against level 200+ if they are under level 50.

Literally every match I ever got in Australian casual before the change. I'm 160, gold 4. Never see any enemies or allies under 200, never seen anyone below plat. Almost always see people I recognise, our playerbase is quite small I think. Ranked was fucking baby mode compared to how sweaty casual was. Now, have not seen anyone above my rank, not once in 30 matches. I am loving this.
Man I love playing Kapkan, the VSN is so good.

I feel like high level low rank is lot better than low level high rank. I'm 80 something Gold I and I'm constantly playing with 150+ and the skill gap is incredibly apparent, as opposed to a 200 Silver I who just honestly isn't very good.
Ubisoft delayed the DLC to August, and are instead using this season to do bugfixes and tech upgrades.

I'm totally okay with that, as long as Operation Health wasn't secretly shoehorned in because they were grossly under progress for Hong Kong operators and needed something to fill in the time that they won't 100% commit to.
rip the Polish map, oh well. Worth it if it means bugfixes and whatnot
Oh man, people are taking spawn peeking to a new level. I've run into 3 players now that use some kind of exploit to peek through closed windows so they don't even need to break them to spawn peek through them.
Fucking. Incredible.
They canceled the only CTU I was excited for this year. Well fuck you too ubisoft.

Thank christ. This game has too many problems to keep piling on content.

Yeah lets get some new abilities in the mix and pile it on all the glitches the game has so it can be an even buggier mess.

No they didn't
What happened to the Polish Season and map?
The Hong Kong Season will now be released when the Polish Season was intended, this is to make room for Operation Health. The Polish map will be canceled, but the two Polish operators will still be released, 1 in Hong Kong and 1 in South Korea. The reason behind it being canceled is to truly prioritize our game’s health over adding new content.
im glad they are prioritizing game health but i dont like not receiving content i paid for, that being the grom map im aware they are releasing the grom ops, even though i think its a little bit stupid releasing a defender and then 3 months after the attacker or w/e order they go with
missing out the map is BS - they even say the art team is a separate thing in the FAQ and cosmetics (which obviously we pay extra for, compared to maps...) are somehow of course still viable to make....
Man, that's a 3 month drought though. They really can't substitute this with anything?
im glad they are prioritizing game health but i dont like not receiving content i paid for, that being the grom map im aware they are releasing the grom ops, even though i think its a little bit stupid releasing a defender and then 3 months after the attacker or w/e order they go with
You didn't pay for the map, you paid for 8 new operators, 8 headgears, 8 uniforms, a charm, 600 R6 credits, 10% renown discount, 7 days early access to the new ops, 5% renown boost and 2 extra daily challenges.
The map is free.

At this point it's clear that R6S wasn't designed to last, just like TF2. If they don't want to have to band-aid everything forever like they are doing right now, they need time to make the game viable in the long run. It's actually showing that they care, and plan to continue the updates at least another year. You don't spend 3 month fixing bugs and improving the experience if you plan to drop the game at the end of the year.
its clearly just a fancy way of saying, we are way behind schedule and had to cancel shit because we cant bandaid and keep ppl happy
its clearly just a fancy way of saying, we are way behind schedule and had to cancel shit because we cant bandaid and keep ppl happy
The more you add code on something that wasn't designed to be changed and tweaked, the more weird and improbable bugs you'll get. That stuff takes time to do, and obviously bandaiding it didn't work. Just look at the hibana bug for exemple. Why isn't it fixed yet? Because it's probably attached to some old code that wasn't designed to properly do what theses pellets do.
Also, I think that having a game that works and making sure it'll be easier to update in the future is making people happy.
It's unfortunate the map is scrapped, but all the maps are free, and they will still release the remaining operators, so I won't complain.
There had better be some good results from this though, or there will be a pretty big backlash from the community.
I think the game already has a large amount of content, so I don't see this 3ish month drought affecting very much and I'll definitely continue to enjoy it.
It's a tough decision to make for the development team to have made, but they clearly thinks it's for the best for the games future, so I'll remain optimistic for now.
i dunno, im still pretty skeptical of them fixing hitboxes, they said that they will basically since the game came out, recent changes didnt really feel much different or better in any way.
the bit about improving servers, isn't this game p2p garbage like For Honor is?
the bit about improving servers, isn't this game p2p garbage like For Honor is?
nope. When the severs are real bad you can even see "Game sever has left the game"
So I know the cats have been posted, but have the dogs?

Nah the only p2p part of Siege is the lobbies only (which makes sense), the servers are physical and are hosted on Microsoft Azure.
[editline]11th May 2017[/editline]
Mean to give you a even bigger mindfuck, when you go into terrorist hunt, its still an Azure server, you don't host it locally.
[editline]11th May 2017[/editline]
Oh and the training missions are all online as well. :v:

From what I heard they are redoing them from the ground up, removing anything that isn't part of the character's actual anatomy.

huh, so basically going the route cs did and ditching rectangular hitboxes for cylinder shaped ones
I hope they fit in the GROM map somehow, like they eventually got Bartlet in the game.
