Based on the video, I believe her gadget can only create a line of six bullet sized holes in a reinforced wall.

And we end up with one of two outcomes:
- either you can use the gadget multiple times, making the hole big enough to go through (this renders Thermite inferior)
- you make bullet sized holes which prove more useful to the defenders, effectively creating murder holes for the defenders, but without the drywall that can be shot through (and this makes Hibana inferior to Thermite)
I seriously doubt the effectiveness of the second option. I mean, sure, Blackbeard or glaz could use them, but imagine if Tachanka gets the speculated buff and suddenly the attackers are fucked, because they can't kill through the hole, but can be killed through the hole they made. We shall see how it turns out in a few days, but I'm sceptical.

No it doesn't. Depending on how many of these grenades she gets, how big the holes are and how finnicky the system is in general, trying to use her like thermite might be one of the worst ways to play her.

Honestly it's not that hard to imagine a thermite-like gadget [I]not[/I] being used to create a way through, but just line of sight. It doesn't seem like it's going to clash with thermite that hard.

When it comes to the balancing of new OPs I've learned to stop worrying. Each season I thought one of the new OPs would be game breaking or way too overpowered but in reality they all just play fine most of the time. That being said, I kind of hope they don't continue adding an indefinite amount of OPs in future seasons because that sounds like a bad idea

I can see one more seasons worth of ops before it starts getting really crowded.
I think hibana will be very useful even if you can't vault thru the hole you make. It'll still give you a huge opening.
Some parts of the map are also way too risky for thermite to place charges. Doing so from a distance while in cover could prove very useful. Even if you can't get into the room, you've scrambled their defense.
I for one am glad we're getting a thermite alternative, regardless if you can actually get into the room or not. having reinforced walls locked to everyone but thermite was tricky but now that we have 2 ops who can do it, the meta will shift real quick.

also I saw a video of him stopping a ceiling hatch from being breached, I assume this is a bug? Or can you put the disrupter on certain tables and stop breaches from above?

I don't think Hibana's gadget will blow the whole wall. I'm pretty sure it's just gonna put kill holes so u can shoot through it or something.

So, he has a drone, my speculation is the drone can enter this [I]hover mode[/I] and probably spots enemies who pass by it. Depending on the noise it might be hard to conceal.
Can't imagine echo will be too useful. Prob will get shot out instantly.

Terrorist Hunt is pretty damn funny when you don't take it seriously, aka do challenges like pistol-only, melee-only, try to break every single wall, run everywhere like a madman, etc.
Only real problem is that most of the operators gadgets are completely useless, they need to give 3-4 times more gadgets to mostly everyone to make it fair. That and shield ammo pool which is barely enough to kill half the terrorists on a map.

Echo will most probably not be able to do any of those things. Just imagine someone waiting outside a window with the drone and when the game timer starts, flies outside to a spawn point and either blows up everyone or flashes everyone so that a spawn killer can take them out. Spawn-killing already is in a bad position right now, this would make it worse.

I'm fairly sure information regarding Echos gadget came out around the same time Hibana's got leaked. He has some sort of function that distracts or disorientates enemies.

I think it's fine if you're actually in a comp game, but if you're just doing a casual with your mates it looks pretentious. 9/10 i'll back out of the matchmaking.
Instead we roll without tags so it looks like we're not together but still outplay them badly
