They should've used the E3 operators for the Recruits.
Anyone else feel like the new time is too short? Attacking just feels like too much of a rush now :/
I strongly disagree with having generic people with custom loadouts. You call them heroes but the operators are pretty believable, none of them have incredible gadgets that allow them to do shit like bullet time or instant reloads or anything that isn't realistic.
R6:S really nailed character design and I would be sad to see it go, even from a gameplay perspective it's easy to identify dangers by the operator name and also it guarantees that only one person has that skill. I mean no way would it pass if R6:S had generic ops and you could do shit like 5 people with thermite charges or 5 rifle shields. Only having one operator access a specific skill allows you to have big abilities like that.
habanero pepper has become my favourite operator in the game

Honestly in ranked I haven't noticed a huge difference. It just cuts down on the stand off time. Only once have I been pushed for time
agreed. one of the main selling points to rainbow six, especially in later iterations, was the ability to customize your operator and make them an extension to yourself. siege completely redacts that point and leaves customization to simple cosmetic items and scopes
i like how siege works with the operators but the base game itself is just... so badly done. the peekers advantage, off-key netcoding and hitboxes in general really make the game seem like an absolutely sloppy mess. a lot of kills are complete accidents and lucky shots and not really based on any particular player-based skillsets. it just boils down to who has more intel on where the enemy team is. it should be just be called ghosting: the game because that's really all every round boils down to. your loadout is pretty much meaningless if there's a camera watching your every movement
The fact that there are no actual doors anywhere is really weird once you notice it, too. Did they ever explain why they got rid of them? The earlier games were like door opening simulators.

Assuming its related to drones for the most part. Having doors everywhere would render drones less effective since you could just shut them all and totally hide the OBJ room.
Another reason could be to put more emphasis on map control. Knowing what to barricade and how to exploit better firing lines.
in the original way the game was made, there weren't specific characters and abilities.
The teams also had distinct colors.
Raven Shield wore solid blue and Rogue Spear wore a sort of desert camo.

obviously it wouldn't pass, because you'd have to redesign a lot of the game. But thats perfectly fine. It would actually be better if there was no thermite charges, or rifle shields, or flying stunning drones, or remote breaches. Playing with 5 recruits gives a more tactical, challenging experience in a lot of cases.

Defenders would win 100% of the time if there were no Thermite charges.

so a boring ass game then? Because the operators give a lot of variety to the game. If you want a more vanillia FPS then go play CS:GO.

so you think all the previous R6 games are boring games? well, alright then.

siege is nothing like the old games, it is more streamlined but offers a lot to the genre instead of cod clone #94232
you also fail to understand that the older games are also tactical shooters. If you just deleted all the operators and fleshed out the recruits a bit then you just get a more boring version of the game. You would need massive overhauls to make it fun but then you wouldn't even be playing the same game.
seriously go play cs:go if you want a more vanilla experience or go play the old r6 games.
Haven't played in a few months, Jumped back in and holy crap did they nerf twitch hard. Not having 3 drones sucks so much. I'd much rather start planning phase using the normal drone with the jump, the stun drone makes it a pain to find the objective.

I don't really see it as a nerf. Being able to take down cameras and gadgets in the prep phase is huge.

I find that the best way to twitch now isn't to go for the objective straight away, let the other drones do that. However you can destroy the cameras all over the map, hide for the prep phase end, then go for the objective jammers/batteries once the roamers are gone from the point.
Or you can straight up taser kill the AFK recruit, which is fun too.

It's anything but a nerf, the majority of my time spent as Twitch is destroying cameras, gadgets and fucking around with defenders while giving intel to teammates in and out of prep phase. If my first drone gets destroyed, I just throw out my second one and do it all over again.
I love when twitches go straight into the objective room and try to deal damage early on. Then I look at the cams and see them all still there.

they were pretty quick to change some things from the e3 premier trailer too. terrorist defenders are gone and the chopper drop is also gone.
I guess the old Twitch had a bit of a different role. The fact that she had 3 drones allowed you way better scouting. I've gotten so many kills scouting with my drone ahead into the next room ,then quickly switching it off when I see someone and blind firing at them through a wall.
Hopefully they introduce someone with that type of play style in the future.

Hell I got the clutch even with the people in my discord talking over footsteps!
still think the nerf hasnt hurt pulse one bit

It still confuses me why the whole PvP thing is CTU vs CTU.
That doesn't really make sense. Would be better if they just made the opposite team into terrorists from the white masks.
Then you wouldn't be able to see which operators you were up against at a glance
it's vr training

I think I read something about Tom Clancy not allowing his games to feature playable terrorists.
i think he means do it like americas army - the OPFOR always appear as terrorists to all the players, you can't actually play as them, it's just visual so you're always fighting terrorists. I dunno, could be done, provided there was a way to distinguish operators

It would obviously require more work but yeah, I remember play AA and being able to spot the difference between a squad leader and MG gunner p easily, it's a matter of how you make them distinctive while at the same time flying the same colours.

But I think this discussion is silly since Siege is a hero vs hero game and previous Rainbow Six instalments were more tactical shooters (well, aside from Vegas but hey)
