also tachanka has an amazing smg so if you become good at using it he's essentially a heavy armored recruit. a lot of people rag on him but he's pretty awesome. especially in house and skyscraper where there's plenty of walls to rip people through
or you could play Kapkan instead and have a C4 and a gadget that doesnt suck.
but kapkan's not a meme i can't play him
essential ops imo are thermite, ash and thatcher for attackers and mute, rook and bandit. all other regular ops are great if played right but those are your essential ones that you want unlocked from the get-go as they are they most profound for helping your team
Doc?
Doc?
All this asshole does is stim himself to 200 HP and then get one-clicked anyway.
All this asshole does is stim himself to 200 HP and then get one-clicked anyway.
Depends on the player. I've found him to be highly useful in some situations. Maybe not essential, but far from useless. [editline]28th November 2016[/editline] Also p90 with acog yes thank you.
Above post was kinda sarcastic but honestly my main issue with Doc players is they don't hang around teammates, they just wander off to roam for some reason and A) Get murdered B) Get murdered trying to run back to teammates. Only on like Plane have I seen not worthless Docs.
all I do as doc is stand around point hoping my teammates dont roam too far so I can be the daddy they never had and comfort them when they get ouchies
What's up with Doc stims anyway, when you stim someone who's down they can instantaneously start moving in a direction but once you stim yourself while down you gotta play the whole animation before even moving.
it's to be consistent with him stimming himself while standing I suppose? could also be balancing. delay or no delay it's a godsend.
I think my favourite play from a Doc player was when I as Caviera downed someone and he downed me so we just cuddled up together, Doc runs into the room and shoots his stim before looking and revives the enemy who proceeds to blast Doc in the face and then gives me that sweet release from second-hand embarrassment.
Man I really want to pick up Siege but I feel like this is one of those kinda game where metagame strategy and information just pile up (e.g. Warframe, Payday 2) and its impossible to learn it without a friend
Why does everyone here think that diamond players or pre-mades are just coming in on the sale weekend trying to boost their ego by pub stomping other players? Why can't they just be playing casual cause they don't want to play ranked? Are you guys really that salty that really good players/teams don't want to play ranked all the time?
Regardless, it's very frustrating to be matched with an entire team of ranked players that match your level plus 100. Ubi really needs to stop this shit from happening. I've gotten matched with a team full of sub level 50s against level 100+ diamond clans too many times/

By level 25 you should be well rehearsed in strategy. You dont need a friend to play this game at all. Hell, when I first picked up the game I started gitting gud at around rank 30-40.
that does it I bought the game [editline]28th November 2016[/editline] dang

Like typically it will just end up like you go into a casual end up on a winning streak so the same team your stacked with just send them some friend request and there you go just build up from there and you have a decent player base, Also there are loads of Discord or TS channels people use the FP one was posted somewhere I believe in this thread possibly multiple time. And also people (some) don't mind telling you what to do or helping with your Operator during a match they will ping walls they need help reinforcing etc... Playing casual alone can still help you learn the game because you just focus on one Operator at a time or find one you play best with and learn there ability/skill and when/where to use it and be vocal and listen to people because it still is a growing game so believe me you won't be the only one like you in matches you play I still come across low levels everyday and I am in my 100s.
Obligatory discord post

Do at least some of the situations and watch all 3 videos. You get renown for the videos even if you skip em but watching them is still important. Buy at least 3 or 4 ops before going into a casual match. Try a terrorist hunt if you need to as well. Good luck!

Or if they have a challenge going on that requires you to play a specific CTU and for instance somebody picks the Operator of that CTU you can play the recruit of that CTU and it still counts. Also don't forget if you have a 5 man premade there is always Strat Roulette to have some fun http://stratroulette.dakpangames.com/TomClancyRainbowSixSiege/RandomChallenge
So, I played Siege some during the Free Weekend, saw some gameplay prior, went through all Situations, bought some Operators (according to guides) with GP to spare, read over/watched some "avoid making these noob mistakes" guides/tutorial vids by the community and finally jumped into a few matches. There, a few other noobs and me got matched with lvl40+ players that already knew the maps and strats, which lead to lots of moments like the "Defenders" immediately busting through the windows and rushing us down before we even got into the house. Matches basically turned into a "whoever has the most <lvl10 players loses", which wasn't much fun for anyone. I played a handful of matches like these before calling it quits. Was that just bad luck or is the "git gud" curve just that steep? Siege seemed like a really fun and well-designed game until I got to the actual multiplayer.
bad luck, but also you should play with people who know shit so they can teach you.

my suggestion is to drink before playing so you're loosened up, i always do my best when under the influence of something
I remember hating this game so much when I first started. But after learning the maps and all the common strategies people use, I started to reeeeally like it. Also peeker's advantage. Once you know about that, most bullshit in the game makes sense.

Siege seemed like a really fun and well-designed game until I got to the actual multiplayer.
Golden rule above all: Listen well to your surroundings. Sound is almost everything in this game. Always pay attention to exits when you're moving to make entry. If you're roping up a wall make sure you can orientate quickly to shoot windows to your sides or the ground below you. It's rare that people will rush but you must always assume that they will. Shoot cameras immediately to lessen the chance of defenders rushing. When you're finally at the building itself just crouch and listen near the walls/next to entrances. If someone is roaming or somehow knows you're there then you will again reduce the chance of getting killed if you can hear their rough location although with that in mind, PEEK ADVANTAGE If you're peeking a corner while motionless and the enemy rounds it, 9/10 you will get the kill. Unless the enemy is smart enough to pre-fire and knows your exact location in which case it could be an even split. Usually if you are rounding a corner you want to peek before fully going in. Worth noting that strafing doorways/windows and taking potshots is genuinely a good way to put the hurt on someone. Most of the time, they will barely even see you in the doorway and while it may appear you're rapidly strafing from your view they won't really get that great a chance to hit you. Another slightly cheese tactic is going inverse while rappelling and camping above broken windows/doors. Your profile is basically non-existent when doing this and even after the bloom patch, defenders inside can have a hard time spotting you from that position if you're quick. Don't be afraid to take shots at just their legs/feet as enough bullet will kill them.
the prob is with siege tho, the git gud curve is very steep, when you start with the game, youre gonna get owned, get owned pretty hard at times. only thing you can really do is watch killcams and try not to take it too personal and ragequit and never touch the game again, because once you become decent this game is so rewarding and fun to play.
That's the thing with siege. You're going to get destroyed when you first play. But it shouldn't discourage you.
I'll try to change the topic a bit: the promised new gamemodes. And I won't mention the promise itself, but about the possibilites. A few pages ago people dicussed if Siege would be better without skills. So, why not make it into a new gamemode? I mean, it probably wouldn't be hard to add a gamemode with recruits only, everything is already there, Ubi wouldn't have to add anything, just to swap around a few things. I believe it could be somewhat interesting, just to see how much player strategies would change and it could also gather enthusiasts of a more barebones gameplay. And if it was shit, creating the whole thing wouldn't waste too much time. What do you guys think?

Personally I wouldn't want new game modes just "because they promised". I find the current modes pretty neat (aside from hostage when the hostage is 3ft from a window going outside) and I would prefer other "events" like weather effects, power outages, 2x destruction effects, everyone locked to a random OP, OPs can only be picked once per team per match, etc.
