downloaded the ultra texture pack holy carp
I should really uninstall it, can't even run it :v:
Attackers rushing in, etc etc
but thats normal [editline]3rd December 2016[/editline] average_diamond match consists of 5 defenders being marked outside and 1shot u
I rather have a toxic community then a dead game imo. Im glad these new players are coming, it was fun to have the old strats back and see things that i havent seen in months, like fuzing the hostage. Attackers rushing in, etc etc
siege was never dead and i'd much rather have a smaller game but everyone is chill because whats the point in playing if the community sucks
The community sucks right now because there's a huge rush of new players. I about had a brain aneurysm trying to teach some yesterday. Idiots, idiots everywhere
Isn't the solution to not meeting newbies just to play ranked matchmaking
Isn't the solution to not meeting newbies just to play ranked matchmaking
ranked takes longer to find games (can be 10 minutes sometimes) and also that doesn't change that much because you still have dumbasses who just reached the level requirement and still have no idea
I've never played ranked in r6, wouldnt a new player who just hit requirement only be finding low skill games
I've never played ranked in r6, wouldnt a new player who just hit requirement only be finding low skill games
oh snap
I've never played ranked in r6, wouldnt a new player who just hit requirement only be finding low skill games
no one plays ranked here so its common for a mix of unranked/silver/gold, sometimes even a plat
no one plays ranked here so its common for a mix of unranked/silver/gold, sometimes even a plat
I play ranked... when I have a full 5 stack I was in Plat but had some bad solo games now I am back down to Gold something but Ranked games are less toxic than Casual although you get a lot of Attacker Peeks on ranked from the high level players who have insane map knowledge, other than that normally even if I solo queued or joined in with a less than 5 premade the other randos always used Mics on ranked more so than when I would hop into a casual and a lot of the times people are silent other than me. People just don't like the short tense 3 minute timer on ranked now and don't want to get swamped and score copper or bronze lol because then they would be stuck with plebs; The 3 minute timer can be a good thing and a bad thing I like how tense it makes it you kinda have to have a plan from the get go and execute it right with your team because with 3 minutes there is barely any thinking time. But yeah to make all of that easier just find a populated Discord that you don't mind communicating with there are A LOT of channels for Siege players and what not I have met a lot of friendly people through the game itself that I continue to play with on the regular because my IRL friends don't really PC game like I do.
i like the 3 min timer on paper but in reality it's really bad on players who don't know the map as they don't know how to execute a strategy and just play for peeks/wait for someone to get the first kill
I've never played ranked in r6, wouldnt a new player who just hit requirement only be finding low skill games
no u dont, it seems to match u with all kinds of ranks when ure unranked [editline]3rd December 2016[/editline] dont rly understand how ppl still score copper or bronze in the new ranking system, plat and diamond are a trainwreck with the ridiculously low requirements, almost everyone i know got gold iv as first rank
no u dont, it seems to match u with all kinds of ranks when ure unranked [editline]3rd December 2016[/editline] dont rly understand how ppl still score copper or bronze in the new ranking system, plat and diamond are a trainwreck with the ridiculously low requirements, almost everyone i know got gold iv as first rank
Yeah that is what I placed was Gold IV one match after got me to Plat I I had some buddies place in Plat so when @ashxu said nobody played ranked for me I thought all the people who took the game seriously was in ranked instead of casual, Hell casual now is filled with new players like you said high level diamonds or plats running things or just toxic players or people having fun with strat roulette. Ranked is where Siege is at; I never wanted to play ranked before because of the skill base but once I was getting into 5 man stacks it made it much more enjoyable and even though it is a WIP they are still trying to flesh it out with each patch so I figure it will just end up getting better.
I have this strange luck going on where I'll be paired with level 5s and below and be put against a team of level 150 +
I've never played ranked in r6, wouldnt a new player who just hit requirement only be finding low skill games
A lot of people, myself included, haven't touched ranked yet because they still don't feel they're up to it. Personally I don't have the time to study the maps and know areas by name and I've only got around 40-50 hours. Some people think just watching a few youtube videos makes them fully capable in ranked much like newbies who think they can skip the situations and just be good at the game. I'd argue the game didn't get marketed too well in regards to how tactical it actually is.
and even though it is a WIP they are still trying to flesh it out with each patch so I figure it will just end up getting better.
i dunno, season 4 made it worse, let me repeat myself here, its way too easy to get to plat and diamond now, when i got diamond i didnt even feel like i accomplished anything because it took me 7 wins from plat 1 to dia, whereas in season 3 it took me almost 2 months to go from gold 2 to plat 3. [editline]3rd December 2016[/editline]
I'd argue the game didn't get marketed too well in regards to how tactical it actually is.
agreed, from the outside this game looks very shallow but when u start to get into it u realize just how much there is to learn that takes time to learn such as, reinforcing what hatches to close/ leave open how to effectively roam and still be able to rotate quickly to the obj, dont get me started on all the killholes and location names.

Look at The Division. [editline]3rd December 2016[/editline] also, this is the only marketing rainbow six siege got for TV
I have 450 hours in Siege and I haven't touched ranked yet. :pudge: I don't speak comfortably in english so I feel like I'm gonna get wrecked.

i got this for pc after having it on xbone for a bit. i'm surprised how shitty it runs with the ultra texture pack; the graphics aren't even all that impressive. are there any other fps-killing settings that i should turn down? edit: didn't realize how much TXAA murders your framerate. turning that down to 'temporal filtering' helped quite a bit.
the ultra texture pack is pretty much an illusion because you will never notice the texture quality unless you are playing on 4K. if anything the pack just drops your FPS to unplayable levels and makes the microstutter unreal honestly I play with my textures on medium and they look passable. there's still a a lot of quality in medium texture settings; you just won't see extremely fine detail like the canvas-looking bumpmaps on someone's pants
The community isn't worse because new people are playing btw. People will get better, it's just all about peoples attitude. Siege still has the best pubs I've ever played, even after the free weekend and sales boosts.

People not talking recently is a true thing I have been in since Beta myself and have noticed the difference... but also I believe people are using third party VOIPs more and more these days (Discord, TS etc...) because the in-game VOIP is horrendous in quality compared to a dedicated VOIP program... most in game VOIPs aren't that great because they don't spend all their programming time on that vs other parts of the game the VOIP is an afterthought which is why they have those 3rd party programs. Since this game heavily relies on communication people would want the best quality for their voice and hearing their teammates so you have to take that into account as well.
I would argue due to the game being cheaper that more kids are playing now than before.
I've been matched into so many games with kids lately. Like, can't be older than 12 with a lisp and incredibly high voice kids, not young teen kids. And they all use their mics, but their voices are so fucking grating and they never stop talking so 90% of the time they're TKed or just straight up vote-kicked :v:
the problem isn't that there's new players, it's that there's old bogeys that ruin the game for everyone. they usually keep themselves under control but they go complete apeshit when low levels enter the fray. new players will do new player stuff like fuze the hostage room or run the longest possible route to get to point A because they don't know the map. old bogeys just exploit the fact they're playing against new players and do cheese tactics like spawn kill as jager or just generally be pieces of shit and give everyone a hard time. and there's the premade issue too. i had to give up playing a week ago because the amount of premade gold-plat teams on casual was unbearable. they come out of the woodwork when they learn that new people are showing up and they do everything in their power to shit on the game to give everyone else bad impressions i don't mind playing against pro teams or whatever in casual. that's just part of the siege experience. but when my entire team is level <20 and I'm fighting level 120+ gold players by the droves it gets old really fast, especially when they do everything in their power to make the game as unfun as possible. new people aren't going to stick around if they keep getting shat on by veterans. that's why matchmaking should be completely redefined to separate players based on their levels. it might take a minute to find a match but at least you'll get paired up fairly (unless you're being smurfed) and not curb stomped time and time again by unfair matchmaking
I had someone use a spam bot on my PSN during a ranked game to try and fuck me up... We got a flawless victory. :v:

My rig isn't even that good.
Really wish I took a picture of this but while on the offensive team with the drone trying to find the hostage, I found the hostage and somehow jumped onto the back of him. :v:
