Neat. One last question though, how bad is the grind?
not that bad imo. the game is pretty generous with renown. you get challenges that awards you more, and the challenges are always something super easy like "play as defenders 3 times" or "play 3 games as S.A.S." as you buy operators, they get more expensive though. but its a really fair system imo. lategame you're gonna be wondering what the hell to spend your renown on because you get so much of it
also yea the DLC operators are really expensive. its better to save your earlygame renown on the cheaper ones and just buy the season passes
Neat. One last question though, how bad is the grind?
If you get the reduced version (started edition i think?) The grind is really really long.
12.5k/ original operators, 25k for DLC ones. You get around 300 renown per 15 min I'd say?
For the standard edition, the price is based on how many operator of that specific unit you have unlocked already
so 1st unlock is 500, 2nd is 1000, 3rd is 1500 and 4th is 2000. So they are dirt cheap, and just by playing your new ops for 2 or 3 matches you can unlock a new one. The DLC ones are still 25k tho.
So yeah, get a season pass and the complete ed. You'll have a ton of options, and keep to renown to kit your ops (muzzlebreaks, sights, grips, etc)
The ping though

I couldn't even move.
Finally ran into cheaters who were advertising what they were using. Guess thats what's to be expected with a free weekend

I feel ashamed... And so did Hibana.
K, the game is on sale right now. I was interested in buying this before seeing approximately 1.73 million dollars worth of DLC. How's the dlc implemented in this game? Essential or just random useless fodder?
maps are free and you can buy operators with in game currency, only thing that you have to spend real money on is skins and gun charms

I think it's roughly about 60 dollars for all the DLC, isn't it? Unless you mean all the cosmetics.

Maps are free and you can unlock all of the operators with in-game currency, as well as many of the cosmetics. Vanilla operators are relatively cheap, DLC operators are currently all 25k of the in-game currency each.
I've paid $20 so far and $5 of that was because I got impatient and just bought an operator I wanted. You are by no means forced into paying extra once you own the game as long as you don't feel like saving up to play as a new operator.
Thankful my work week started so I can't be tempted to play ranked with the free weekend

and even then, usually its only certain skins and gun charms, 99 percent of it can be bought in game
also, 12 hours of grinding to get a new DLC operator, if you play ranked. renown booster that you get for free for first time playing siege can cut it to around 6 hours for one DLC operator
Ubisoft makes big bucks from siege because of the grind
However, it should only take you 2 weeks give or take to unlock all the base operators. maybe one if you play more then three hours a day
Neat. One last question though, how bad is the grind?
You can do up to 3 normal challenges which just like Keychain said, but you can also do up to 4 extra challenges at the Ubisoft Club (basically a place to get rewards for Ubisoft games) which are harder than the 3 normal challenges but still give a good amount of renown. You can also do situations (the singleplayer part of Siege) and watch the tutorials to get more renown. It isn't that grindy unlike other games.

Because I know I'm a better player than what my rank is. I've carried myself and my teams from copper 4 to silver 3. I play at a gold 3/4level
If you finish all the situations except the last multiplayer one (which definitely isn't worth doing unless you love being blinded by piss smoke), you get enough renown to buy eight operators or so, and it shouldn't take you more than a couple of hours at most.
Also, this game heavily depends on map knowledge. You're going to feel like you got killed by wizard magic a lot.
game's an absolute wreck right now because of the free weekend. level 10's and below everywhere mixed with level 100's. its chaos

It's cute. We had a game earlier where a level 2 guy managed to make it to the bomb, and he was standing there absolutely perplexed, trying to figure out what to do. We had a bit of a giggle.
Late but siege would be just another boring linear military shooter if they focused on sp, itd be another grfs imo
I think I have my copy of Rogue Spear and an expansion disc laying around here somewhere, I'm tempted to play it but last time I tried I had horrendous lag and I couldn't figure out why.
[editline]a[/editline]
I mean PC lag obviously, like the thing was chugging along at maybe 5 FPS.

I feel like it fits the mood for a title screen more. The original R6's main theme sounds a lot like something that'd play in the background while you're right in the middle of combat.
its such a shame they replaced the red crow splash screen with the invitational one which in comparison looks bad, why the fuck would they work on such a nice banner to only show it for 3 weeks

I prefer the old one.

What i hear about the difference of the Rainbow six siege soundtrack compared to like Ravenshield theme.
Rainbow six Ravenshield 3 theme = Heroic
Rainbow six siege theme = Serious
Today I learned that you can knife the armor pack and it will vanish.
Thanks teammate for showing me that "magic trick" while we still had armor to get :unimpressed:
Rainbow Six Siege's soundtrack is exactly the same kind of thing you would hear in a modern action movie about SWAT officers.
I think free weekends would benefit from a super-casual mode that ups the playercount a bit to remove the reliance on personal skill and knowledge of how the game works. Like, my thinking here is that it'd create a less hostile learning environment because a situation like being the last one on your team and not knowing how to destroy the defuser would be less likely to occur when you have more people who might survive and already know how to defuse.
Besides, even if my hypothesis here is incorrect it might be a fun extra mode for when you want to play some Siege but you don't want to make sure you're at the height of your senses so that you don't have to deal with people talking shit because you didn't win a 1v1.

Chibi figurines are coming this Summer.
Will have: Smoke, Montange, Tachanka, Ash, and IQ.
Each will come with its own digital bonus (similar to Dota 2 and TF2)
I'd prefer real Ubisoft-quality statues like the ones you get in their collector's editions. I'd buy me a Montagne, Thatcher, Jaeger, or Frost that actually looked like the character models.
the chibi figures are way too expensive. i might buy like, a jaeger or bandit one but nothing more.
chibi things are trash
