Looking at this, reminds me a bit of BattleshipCraft. I loved that game until the devs pulled the plug on the online
Man I wish that game came to Android. It was the shit.
In case anyone does want to see the video I did on this;
Yo, look at all this stuff I've made in this game. The old screenshots don't do it justice, a few months ago there was an update to the block visuals and it looks fantastic. I've put nearly 400 hours into this thing, I'm also in charge of one of the factions in the game now so I get to approve all the community ships that actually go into the game.
I want to buy this game but I only have 10$ RIP
I'm also in charge of one of the factions in the game now so I get to approve all the community ships that actually go into the game.
If you're the motherfucker that let the Eyrie in i hate you :( but yeah this shit is goddamn amazing now
If you're the motherfucker that let the Eyrie in i hate you :( but yeah this shit is goddamn amazing now
No no, that's Nick himself. It went in before the Faction Lore Keepers went in to effect. Besides, Khaz is the Onyx Watch lorekeeper. I'm in charge of the Steel Striders!
I took a look at this game, but I decided against it as it didn't have something I thought. I thought it was made so that if there's a hole in your ship, you'd start taking on water and eventually sink. Instead, in the videos I watched, when the ship took catastrophic damage, it simply disappeared. Kinda boring.

Instead, in the videos I watched, when the ship took catastrophic damage, it simply disappeared. Kinda boring.
That does happen, quite often. The way the game works is wooden ships are naturally buoyant, so they float pretty much no matter what. Then, in campaign mode, when a ship reaches 30% blocks left it disintegrates to save performance and time. Generally by then it's not combat worthy anyways. Early game enemy ships (the Deepwater Guard), are pretty much exclusively made of wood, and only a few of their designs are actually capable of sinking. However, once you get past them most factions use metal ships, and it's not uncommon to see a Bastion or Stalwart on the bottom of the ocean, or the Kingstead, which might as well be a submarine for all the capsize and sink problems it has. [editline]28th January 2015[/editline] For example: I rammed my dreadnought cruiser with my replica of the Edmund Fitzgerald and since it doesn't have transverse bulkheads the dreadnought ended up on the bottom of the ocean, like this: [t]http://i.imgur.com/AGmCMv1.jpg[/t]
A while back I made this plane which -barely- works;
Why do I have to build the wings to be wood!? WHY!?
Man this game seems like it could be really cool. How's multiplayer?
Man this game seems like it could be really cool. How's multiplayer?
It's playable but not fabulous. Cooperative shipbuilding is pretty cool though. Multiplayer is Nick's current focus.
I really should build the uber dreadnaught of my dreams ( and my enemies' nightmares ) but I am too much of a perfectionist...
There needs to be a playable avatar that's an octopus that can latch onto things.
What would be absolutely massive for say, a battleship turret? I have this monster of a gun that takes 50 ammo per shot, Reloads in a bit over 6 seconds, has recoil of 9499, Inaccuracy of .18, Explosive damage of 206, A.P.: 4, and Kinetic damage of 1282. Is this enough for a battleship cannon?
My main problem with this game is that I don't know when to stop making the engines & weapons larger.
I also made a Fokker Dr. 1, I'm having troubles figuring out where to put the weapons. I could put it on the fuselage, but then there is the woe of worrying it will hit the propeller, as the game lacks any form of interrupter gear. God... the camera is so horrible.
God... the camera is so horrible.
The third person camera?
yeah and build mode's camera.
Ah. I'm sorry to hear. Why do you dislike it?
yeah and build mode's camera.
You can try pressing F3 in build mode to change to mouse based building, though personally I prefer the keyboard style. They won't arm fast enough to detonate on your propeller so it should work. I'm afraid there isn't enough room to make custom cannons and non-custom cannons are all awful. Is this enough for a battleship cannon?
Generally we go for ~1-3 seconds reload for big guns, and the most I've ever seen a gun take is 57 ammo per shot, due to diminishing returns. Most of my Steel Striders battleships have 55 ammo/shot guns, that have ~1.5 seconds reload with a 200-300 exp charge and ~1000 kinetic. Some have AP as well.
So that's a bit small then. Got it. To be honest, I did some testing with it and it wound up with a lot of extra space with how I envisioned it. I'll probably add more stuff. Also, you called it cute. :V Anyways, I was thinking about adding a torpedo or something under the fuselage.
You can try pressing F3 in build mode to change to mouse based building, though personally I prefer the keyboard style.
Personally.. I prefer mouse based mainly to to it being somewhat confusing with keyboard and the camera. Only thing that's wrong with that is that you don't get perma build with mouse based.
Ah. I'm sorry to hear. Why do you dislike it?
Either too fast or too slow. There's really no in between.
There needs to be a playable avatar that's an octopus that can latch onto things.
The Helipod character is actually completely physics based and has a tentacle it walks on which can actually latch to stuff allowing a semi-grappling hook kinda physics behaviour. use (\) to latch onto things.
I can't even get any of my custom cannons to use over 57 ammo...
Curious.... Is it possible to fire missiles and other stuff by yourself instead of the ai doing?
Yeah. Walk near the controller and press control I believe. Why?
Curious.... Is it possible to fire missiles and other stuff by yourself instead of the ai doing?
Yes. If you put a Fire Control Computer (from the control tab) near your chair, you can use the scroll wheel to select weapons from your weapon list (bottom left). Aim with the mouse, press CTRL or MMB to fire.
What about reloading missiles? Do I just put ammo boxes or something near them?
