Really good that it's still being developed like that. For a while people were starting to have doubts, glad that the guy proved them wrong.
Oh, is the game out or is it still in development?
[sp]Going into the caves and getting smacked by some weird creature[/sp] is like really annoying. I lost so much stuff. Can you recover your items from where you were killed?

It looks like they're more committed to finishing it now with just the epilogue to go on top of some balancing changes. I haven't touched Darkwood in so long but I may reboot it again once it hits beta.
has in-game time stopped passing for anyone else? on alpha 10 with the hotfix
Started this up awhile back and my God is it good. Combat can be a bit clunky and I'm too scared to ever fight during the night but it's a great game. The world is really immersive and fun to explore.
cant wait for the beta! i forget this game exists sometimes
Beta 1.0 is out! Epilogue is finished and now comes polishing all the content.
Leaving early access August 17
Niice. I hope they have huge success with it. It is such a good game.
Aaand Beta 3 is out! This makes me so happy, this game was good from the start, but it's so much better now. Plus us backers will receive our stuff! Also people asking for tips, check the Wiki. It has improved tremendously since this thread started, and you can rely on it for everything, possible exception for brand-spanking new content. Ask away and people there usually respond quickly.
Darkwood has now left Early Access, http://store.steampowered.com/app/274520/Darkwood/
Ooo this looks nice.
Oh nice, I've been keeping an eye on it for a long time. Nice to see that it finally panned out.
Get your pants ready. This game is more terrifying than games like Amnesia, Alien Isolation or *insert recent horror game here*
Maaaaaaaaaaaan I used to be all about horror games, but just watching that release trailer had me sweating. That atmosphere is top-notch
i gotta send this to my mate, he loves these kinds of horror games.
Played it for a few hours, gameplay is really fun and the atmosphere is super thick. Simply sitting around your house when it's dark out had me freaked out. I heard some shit moving around outside and I said out loud "I finished barricading all the windows, right?" and mentally went through all the windows before realizing I had forgotten one and let out a gasp and charged over to stare at it all night and make sure nobody popped in.
When you see something giving off lights in the night, like a spot in your house, you should check it out quickly before it goes away.
Been on my wishlist for a good while.. Finally bit the bullet and AHHH yes you could cut the tension with a knife when you're in the thick of it. Definitely only going to play this one at night. Anyone know if the difficulty settings change anything other than the # of lives you get? I feel like "normal" is too easy, but I haven't even begun to touch the tip of the iceberg. [sp]About to spend a night at the new, 2nd hideout[/sp]

[sp]About to spend a night at the new, 2nd hideout[/sp]
Oh, you poor summer child :) Seriously, many experienced players won't spend a single night on Hideout 1. The Meadow's enemies are nothing compared to the ones in more advanced locations, and don't forget, after the 3 biomes in Chapter 1, you will go to the Swamp, where you can really start to kiss your ass goodbye. I recommend you play some more, like at least until Chapter 2, then decide if its too easy. And harder difficulty modes do change more things besides lives. And enemies have dynamic scaling, meaning they grow stronger as days pass.
Hahaha oh lorde that is exactly what I wanted to read, thanks. :buddy:
made it to day 2 then suddenly the power in my hideout went out at night, even though i poured two gasoline tanks in the generator then i realised i poured them into the saw machine instead of the generator what is wrong with me

Does this game feel like a complete game already? I'm super interested in a scary game that doesn't feel cheap but I also don't want it to feel unfinished.
Only played through the intro and a little bit of the main game, but how "deep" is the crafting and survival elements of the game? I've had my fill of crafting and surviving things.
