Another trucking simulator in which I'll probably waste another 80 hours or so. Sounds pretty promising.
Looks oddly relaxing and fun.
I bought a g27 three days ago. Tempted to buy it.
god DAMNIT it's not on steam.
I tried to play it, but ended up driving on the wrong side of the road and then having a negative cash balance
Releases on amazon int he UK in 2 days, might get this, can who is using a controller tell me how easy it is to use the controller.
Also I remember some trucking game where you drive around for a bit then suddenly there are mines everywhere on the road and a helicopter comes and tries to kill you
I'm planning to get this, I love SCS Software's games.
Because EST2 has UK maps so I was saying I hope they've improved from the first?
Well, it seemed like you didn't even want to try ETS2 based on your experience with ETS. You didn't even ask anyone if ETS2 is better in this regard. Sorry if I misunderstood you but it just came off like you warned people or something.
About the original question, I'm not sure, I didn't play much and I'm in Germany, so I can't tell you anyway.
you need to select gamepad+joystick in the options rather than wheel
Thanks! That fixed it. I don't know why it was set to wheel, though, since it detected my controller and I selected it from the menu.

A little nice thing: no matter how hard you press gas pedal in your fully loaded truck, sedans speed past you like it's nothing. Just a nifty little thing. Unusual to see in a videogame, since you're always the speed-king.
I used to gun it down hills and hit cruise control before I started to slow down. It usually worked but more often that not resulted in horrific accidents.
Does it have multiplayer?
Imagine a fleet of trucks or something that could be fun!
So I told my friend to download it after I tried the trial and met up with him. We decided to take turns driving from the bottom right (I think the Slovakia region) and non-stop head to the UK and London.
So basically we get a contract to haul rice for the Red Cross to the next town over and immediately we take a 100,000 load for the trip and than flee the country. In the end we were six days and 14 hours late to deliver it (which we ultimately never did)
We racked up 20,000 in speeding, red light, wrong lane, collision and headlight offenses. Stopped at Amsterdam to smoke weed and slept only twice within a week. We called a tow-truck eight times because of mishaps we had whilst taking on/off ramps at 90MPH and so on.
Our cargo was 100% damaged and we charged all of our gas, repair and tow-truck fees to our employer. As if it wasn't bad enough we stole his truck, his cargo and took out a huge loan we never intended to pay off we kept racking up a huge bill and left a trail of tickets and car accidents across Europe.
Nnnd you never held down a job again and died in obscurity.
Wasted so much time playing Euro Truck Simulator 1 and I loved every minute of it.
Going to try Euro Truck Simulator 2, shame my wheel can only turn like once while the truck can turn more, so that's a pain. Sucks that the G27 is 300$.
I put as many lights on my truck as I could and threw in two tags that say 1st Infantry Division just to get a laugh out of everyone over at 1ID Arma Unit, since we're all temporarily addicted to this shit

Flashing my high beams is like making unsuspecting drivers look at the sun
So, started playing for real this time. I played Euro Trucker 1 awhile ago and this is much better I think. I need to learn to slow down on sharp curves but so far I'm making a decent profit by taking jobs with the biggest payout/longest distance. Once I max out how far I can travel I'm going to keep upgrading my hazard loads.
I hate the UK. The left-side roads suck, I can tolerate them with a left-sided cab but the right-sided cabs throw me the fuck off.
It's relaxing to just drive through empty country roads to your own music on the radio.
Damned,i need to learn to go slower in a corner, almost flipped it!

ETS1 was awesome fun. Played it, one of those games that are great time-wasters for when you're bored / have nothing better to do / waiting for a download to finish.
Definitely going to give ETS2 a go!

That's Hard Truck 2 I believe, loved that game.
Played for a bit last night before going to sleep, and took a load of fertilizer to the UK. Ended up only making around £800 because I'm a bad driver and keep getting tickets. Though I swear at least one of them wasn't my fault because another truck driver stopped suddenly, so I swerved around it and got a ticket for driving on the wrong side of the road.

Reminds me of my friend who hydroplaned during a rainstorm on the highway and crashed. They charged him with a lane violation.
As if it was something he could avoid.
Bingo! While buying a Truck there are customization options I've talked about earlier. One of them is the ability to change the driver seat. In mainland it costs extra, in UK it's the default, so left hand drive costs extra instead.
Well I'll head into town today or tomorrow and pick it up. Thanks for the thread!
Don't forget to Greenlight it on Steam!

Holy shit. If I would to see this I would start a new game.

I enjoyed the 18 Wheels of Steel series and the German Truck Simulator, so I guess I'm going to like this?
No cities, though? Shame. I liked them in 18 WoS.
Also do you have to reverse up to cargo ramps and hitch/unhitch and that kind of stuff?

It's the best part! You can press a button to park the trailer automatically but you will lose a significant XP bonus. It's not that hard if you get a hang of it.
I know, maneuvering has always been my favourite part.
Watched a few videos now, and I think I'm going to get it. My only gripe is that they didn't use special engine sounds for throttle liftoff / coasting. Sounds really weird on the gear shifts.
someone should make a game like this but it would have a simbin-quality driving model and you would drive a sports car and deliver contraband
This job opportunity popped up.

Excellent price per. km, so why not?

Oh, well, that's close nearby.

Ended up doing 6 of these offers.
This game is the best thing ever.

Don't worry, each 'city' has several loading docks, service stations, rest areas, and tight turns and roads that resemble city blocks. They're even bigger than the cities from 18 WoS, really. You can back your trailer up, you don't have to be perfect with it, and you get a little XP bonus, but you can just pull up near it and end the leg right there without parking it

When I skip it I imagine my weirdo truck driver hopping out and saying something like "You fucks park your own goddamn trailer I'm done."

That's cool.
Also, the fact that there are people on fp who play this will make me feel like less of a weirdo.
I mean, you guys ARE real people with real lives and everything, aren't you? Right?
