Oh, I just assumed that had something to do with the UI. Is a larger or smaller value better?
larger play around with them, you should be able to see the difference yourself
Ah my radio's acting up. It plays about a minute of the station then packs up.
I never liked how the ingame radio streaming was a blocking process (locks the game up during connections etc) so I just use winamp in the background instead.
Just started playing this game, really good game. I suck at driving though and I don't know what all the signs mean :v: I used to play King of the Road truck sim very long time ago, but this is way more realistic. The only problem I have is input lag + low fps while in cockpit, but my PC is really old anyway. If anyone knows any tweaks though, please let me know (I already play on minimal, but I'm not sure what scaling does). Oh and I really like the internet station thingy, found a wonderful relaxing DnB station.

Crappy Polish radio makes me miss the place now.
Does the Steam version work with an XBOX controller?
Yeah it picks it up instantly. I've been using my xbox controller. I mapped most of the keyboard functions to it also. ** Also - still looking, maybe will find something in this thread. I'm looking to buy a steering wheel, pedals, and shifter? Any suggestions? I've driven truck IRL and would like to find something as real as possible, for a realistic price (I dont wanna spend $1000 on it or anything, possible?) also also - anyone tried any mods from this site: http://ets2-mods.com/ Going to try some map ones. I'll let you know how they work.
Can we pleaseeee have this in the game?
Goddamn that last view from in the cabin is scary as shit...
I've driven truck IRL and would like to find something as real as possible, for a realistic price (I dont wanna spend $1000 on it or anything, possible?)
I've been very pleased with the G27 I bought last year. The force feedback is excellent. I've never driven a HGV (Eyesight's too crap) but I have a car and have driven large vans (LWB Transit). I'd say it's "good enough" for a gaming peripheral. the pedals feel ok and the wheel feels nice. The key thing is, there's enough buttons to map all the auxiliary controls and use the Scania shifter mapping.
Never forget to sleep. :( My guy dozed off and i was heading straight for the edge. :v:
How long does it takes for the driver to actually doze off? I've been trying to drive for as long as possible and all i got was several "sleep offense" tickets.
How long does it takes for the driver to actually doze off? I've been trying to drive for as long as possible and all i got was several "sleep offense" tickets.
I had been tired for about 1½ hours before that.
Is it recommended to get a loan right off the bat for a new truck? Or to drive for other companies for awhile?
Never forget to sleep. :( My guy dozed off and i was heading straight for the edge. :v:
The problem is that sometimes you estimate the time for the next sleeping zone(I say it should be ok to just drive to the sideway and sleep there) wrong and you end up dozzing and crashing and burning everything down and having a debt of 120k

THanks
Is it recommended to get a loan right off the bat for a new truck? Or to drive for other companies for awhile?
I would drive for another company for a while. If you buy a truck right off the bat like I did the first time, it sucks paying for repairs and tickets and such as you learn the drives. If you drive for a company (Quick Jobs) your employer pays all your expenses. So I would do that until you've explored a decent amount and can at least buy the truck outright without the payment. Cheers
So I heard this was a fun relaxing cool game so I got it, played it and enjoyed it and went to bed, thought it was great but what the game did to me didn't even start yet. I go to sleep right after that and in my dream I had to for some reason start driving a truck, never driven a truck before I tell my self behind the wheel "just do what you learned from Euro Truck Simulator and you will be good" putting that knowledge to good use I somehow make it out of the parking lot and drive down the road amazingly (no crashes man) with barely driving before. Part of me honestly wishes I was joking :v: best dream ever
^^ Yup. It happens. Meanwhile; I think something is wrong with my truck. I'm not 100% sure; I'll let you guys be the judges.
It's not a cab over? [editline]21st January 2013[/editline] Might also be the two wheels defying physics, but I'd rather go for the cab over.
Rear wheels on the cab are sort of inside each other?
You guys are sharp! Also, this game handles widescreen really well. I think most simulators do though. http://i.imgur.com/lmbj6Bf.jpg ^^ Click - I don't want to use it as an image because fucked width.
Agreed, the widescreen support is pretty good. Now if just the UI elements could be moved, it would be perfection. I play on a 40" HDTV about 2 feet from my face :v:
So I finally bought a Valiant. It's great to roam freely, also without a wagon. Can I set a GPS position on freeroam?
So I finally bought a Valiant. It's great to roam freely, also without a wagon. Then just don't go to the companys yard because you haven't accepted a job yet.

F2 and F3 te remove various HUD elements.
Wait. Why does it have the engine like that and it's not under the cockpit?
He's using a mod that replaces one of the original trucks with a Kenworth. Or Peterbilt or whatever, I can't really tell them apart. They all look awesome to me.
are the distances scaled to real life or is everything smaller? I don't own it and it would be pretty damn impressive it it was scaled realistically.
are the distances scaled to real life or is everything smaller? I don't own it and it would be pretty damn impressive it it was scaled realistically.
Much smaller. It'd be pretty boring to have to go all the way across EU with realistic scaling.
