Try a Scania or a Volvo, I've blown down the road doing 130+ km/hr in my Scania with a 6x4 chassis and a heavy load before without tipping.

Agreed. I love my volvo.
Pic Related, it's my volvo rolling down the road. First pic was before i got tired of the tall look. I re-did it to a flat top and toned it down a bit. I like the new look better.

So, I did the longest run I have ever done, 2015 km, everything is good until I got to the marked area and deliver the goods and I read it says "Distance Driven: 1758 km" aw man that's not nice.
It was almost a perfect run until the last 100 km where I hugged a wall and got 20% truck damage and 5% trailer damage.
Anyone else use a flight joystick to drive?
So I just fixed my FPS lag.
I never had it until tonight. So I'm not sure if there was an update or something.
I am running on ultra, 5052x1050 resolution. I usually get around 30-40 FPS at full screen width. When I turned on my headlights I dropped to 15 FPS. It was terrible.
I fiddled around with the settings, and in advanced, there is an option called "Light Visibility Ranges".
I disabled this, and voila, FPS lag is gone. I'm going to try it on low to see if that works, but if your having FPS lag, try this.
you guys think this would run fine on a shitty hewlett packard laptop from 2009?
i dont currently have my gaming pc at home and im bored out of my mind so i want to give this game a try
Maybe on low settings and such? Turn off as much as you can and probably. It doesn't seem overly demanding if you turned the effects down.
how does it look at low settings?
I just went on a bit of a refinance spree - it's pretty cool how the game's banking system can be made to work for you.
Starting off today with three AI drivers and four trucks including my own, I had about 160k in my account, and about 170k left on previous 400k loan. I borrowed another 100k, paid off the balance on the 400k loan, and ran a few decent value routes and got back up to about 200k, with which I paid off the 100k loan and bought another truck. Feeling even more of the need for greed, I then took out another 400k loan, enlarged one of my garages, and bought three more trucks.
I rested overnight, and saw that my new hires were bringing in plenty of funds, adequate to cover the loan payments on their own and still post a profit, so took out yet another 100k loan and picked up one more truck :v:. Went from three drivers and four trucks to eight drivers and nine trucks in one session.
One little unrelated tip I've discovered which might be useful for someone starting out: instead of spending 180k to upgrade your "tiny" one-slot starting garage (upgrade adds two driver slots), just go buy another "small" three-slot garage in the city of your choice, for the same 180k. For the same investment, you get one additional driver slot for "free".
how does it look at low settings?
I play at nearly lowest settings. The dashboard is pixelated so I must look at the GPS for info. Plus no foliage :/
ive always dreamed of truckin with spongebob squarepants
Check out ets2-mods.com
They have a decent amount of mods, and quite a few interior mods.

What are your favorite trucks?
The best one I got so far is the Globetrotter by Vailant, it has the best overall feel in speed and handling. There were a few others with good handling too, tho.
I think only SCANIA has a lot of motors still locked for me.
Bought this game because I loved the first one, but it runs a bit slow on my computer at times, mainly in the actual city areas. Changing the settings down doesn't really make a difference either. I'm assuming it's possibly my processor causing the issue? I haven't upgraded my processor in ages

Just noticed the processor speed isn't on there. It's 2.20 GHz

My personal favorite is the DAF XF, I like the look and with the upgraded engine it's pretty good performance wise. The handling is where it excels though.
That's really odd then, do you have the latest version?
Maybe contact the developers or something.
Yeah latest version, completely stock, all other trucks are fine, it's just this one. I think it's a valiant, it's the one with the 600hp engine at stock.
Probably just gonna give this truck to a driver or something. How hard are urgent deliveries to arrive on time?

The game runs okay for me unless it's dark and raining.

Good job, you turned it into Big Rigs
"Really, Officer, I have no idea how that Audi got lodged under my trailer. Honest."
There I am, it's a nice sunny day's run to Dusseldorf, I'm just outside of Hamburg cruising along the highway just minding my own business, enjoying the scenery, and listening to Jimi Hendrix belt out "Hey Joe" on the radio. Life is good. Out of absolutely nowhere, a crashed vehicle citation pops up on my HUD. That's pretty odd, because there's no traffic to be seen anywhere - I'm just poking along and staying in my lane like a good boy. I quickly double-check my mirrors, and nope, nothing around me. Check my diagnostics menu, no damage to truck or cargo. Weird.
It wasn't until several km later, braking for a 40kmh interchange, that suddenly my truck takes an alarming bounce and I hear this horrible crashing sound. At first, I thought it was one of those bad road joints, like they seem to have lots of in Southern England - the ones that destroy your truck's suspension without warning. Then I notice the white sub-compact flying out from under my trailer sideways in my right mirror. And I laugh and laugh.
No damage to truck or cargo either. :v:

Fake, but awesome.
now THAT would be truckin with spongebob
At what level do you get decent paid jobs? I'm level 11 and still getting 8-9k max.
I am also using the companies truck instead of my own, does this make a huge difference?
i was getting 20-30k at that level just put points into the right area
i alternated long distance and valuable, if you put too many points into long distance all the jobs are massive distances and it's a pain with horrible controls on 360 pad
So, back when this first came out and I ended up buying that white Scania....guess what i saw on that very day parked in the middle of town as I was going about my business.
i alternated long distance and valuable, if you put too many points into long distance all the jobs are massive distances and it's a pain with horrible controls on 360 pad
Controls on the 360 pad aren't horrible if you configure them to your liking, set the joystick sensitivity correctly, etc. Its definitely FAR better than the keyboard controls. Cruise control is your friend on those long distances. Nice to have a free hand off the game pad while your driving so you can eat, grab a drink, etc. Stops your trigger finger from getting tired too. I can honestly say I've used cruise control more in this game than in real life. But that's probably because my car doesn't have cruise control and I've only used it on a friends car going cross-country. :v:
It takes about a day (in game time) to complete a route and you make like 40k doing it. I think the longest I've done so far is 36 hours (including rest).
Fuck me i love the "REALISTIC" physics patch!
Plowing down the highway at a mean 150 kmh makes things very interesting!
I am even aiming for the apex!
[t]http://i.imgur.com/6BaDFm4.jpg[/t]
welp.
Now I've put another level thing onto long distance and got my own truck I'm getting jobs for $15,000 - $20,000 fairly often.

What's wrong with that pic?
Everything is fine.
