Got a new livery for my main rig. Let's see some more of your custom paintjobs and hop-ups.

Just when I was discussing AI in ETS2 with a firend... [t]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/576727710550350061/2C964230FB0D10D06C25F33802691D5BB06D61A9/[/t] Guess where are everyone going to? [sp]No one is going anywhere.[/sp] [editline]29th January 2013[/editline] Also, can anyone explain me "Driver Lazys Lacker couldn't find a job and had to return empty, fees for their laziness is" messages? What does that mean, couldn't find job? There's like 50 pages of quick jobs and freight market jobs!

But the gist I got was that they drive somewhere, find out the job is already taken, and then say fuck that and drive back. Its a bit derpy, but whatever. I guess there is a good reason that you make most of the money.
Is 6x4 worth it? You have to refuel very often with that.

So if there are no jobs in what city they just delivered a load to, they go empty back to wherever your shop is.
Is 6x4 worth it? You have to refuel very often with that.
It raises stability noticeably since you can take turns a fair bit quicker without sliding about. However, as you pointed out, it reduces fuel capacity and it increases the turning radius as well (you have to take turns a fair bit wider). Whether or not its worth it is up to you.
Anyone got any personal recommendations to the best site to look for mods on?
Anyone got any personal recommendations to the best site to look for mods on?
Depends....do you speak German?
Depends....do you speak German? Then that would be trucksimulator24.de
VERY badly yes....
http://ets2-mods.com/ seems to have a lot of mods. Just be sure to block popups for that site.
how do you people drive any other truck than the volvo? they all feel really slow to me (are they actually slower or is it just placebo? cause I'd much rather swap to another truck like the mercedes because they look nicer, only they seem slower. I'm around level 10)

I think once you're about level 16 you can get some okay engines in the other trucks, nothing as good though. Does anybody use a wheel with this game? How is it?

Volvo has terrible brakes, but I miss its massive fuel capacity in 4x2 chassis.

I probably wouldn't have bought it if I didn't have one to be honest.
To anyone who's interested and whose CPU can handle the extra stress, there's a head tracking freeware around that uses face recognition software and emulates TrackIR. In other words, free head tracking for ETS2 and most other sims if you've got a Webcam. It's called FaceTrackNoIR There seems to be a bug with the current version (1.6) where games don't recognize the emulated TrackIR due to a buggy .dll. In that case, I'm posting download link below that will give you a working .dll file from the previous version of FaceTrackNoIR. All you need to do now is fire up the software, pick "FakeTrackIR" from the list of modes on the right, click "start" in the middle and then maybe experiment with the checkboxes on the lower right because you might need to invert some of your inputs. Download version 1.6 of FaceTrackNoIR: http://facetracknoir.sourceforge.net/information_links/download.htm In case ETS2 doesn't respond, here's the dll that you need to replace (goes into the install directory of Facetracknoir) http://sourceforge.net/projects/facetracknoir/files/redist/NPClient.dll/download Apparently, this also works with PS3Eye, whatever that is, but you need to install some "CL Eye platform driver" which is located here: http://codelaboratories.com/downloads/ Have fun! I think this might actually be worth including it in the OP.. Maybe I'll even make a thread somewhere.
optical face tracking never works right for me, I think it picks reflections off my glasses or something
optical face tracking never works right for me, I think it picks reflections off my glasses or something
I'm gonna try it out, but if that's the case I'm screwed, my webcam + glasses looks ridiculous with the reflection.
-quote-
I've been trying to get this to work and it doesn't pick up my webcam, I've gave it admin privileges and it says my webcam but it doesn't track me or display the webcam at all?
-snip-
Funny, I jsut tried this out yesterday. Couldn't get it to work with ETS tho, but it was pretty wonky in A10 and ARMA.
Funny, I jsut tried this out yesterday. Couldn't get it to work with ETS tho, but it was pretty wonky in A10 and ARMA.
I was able to get it to work in ETS and it was just as bad
I'll try this next: http://xiatek.org/ The second video looks awesome.
I'll try this next: http://xiatek.org/ The second video looks awesome.
My problem with all of this tracking software (and one which is visible in that video where you can actually see the guy) is that your monitor simply doesn't move with you. You turn your head to shift the view but you have to constantly keep your eyes focused on the center point of the screen anyway... If you know what I mean? Ideally, you need to bolt the monitor to your head with some kind of frame so that when you turn your head, not only does the view on-screen move but the monitor moves with you. Would be awesome if screens weighed only a few grams.
Hard Truck 2 represent here. Guess I'll have to try it. I spent days on playing HT2 when I was a kid, and honestly I still want to become a truck driver, lol.
