a pretty big beta update just came out that seems to add quite a lot of new areas. not sure if it works with the multiplayer mod yet

It'll be officially out in a few days. It's also organizing radio lists so you can add to your favorites and shit. Finally, no more scrolling trying to find Cambridge Star
I usually listen to EKR, they even shout out to euro truck sim players now and then
The multiplayer mod is just darn awesome. I'm positively surprised how smoothly the game works. The collision off/on idea is great and just driving around running errands with my buddy is just fun.
I'll see you guys on the road :3
I really do wish the road layout was a little more varied, especially for cities. Imagine trying to drive in a more accurately designed Birmingham or London? Just something more than leave city, get on motorway, 5 minutes of back roads then BAM back into city for delivery.
I really need to fish my G27 out and try out online too, damn.
Hey guys,
I'm able to play ET2 MP again because I finally got my R9 270x Hawk.
Is it completely normal that I get 9fps in Amsterdam on 1080p @ Ultra?

Yes
Is there a tutorial out there for playing this game? I got it from a bundle stars bundle and I want to learn it.
You drive.
Go to the place on the GPS.
Really not all that hard. :v:

The thing I'm having trouble with is parking when you unload stuff, how the fuck do you do it?

Carefully. :v:
I'm going to assume you're playing the mp mod here because you can just skip parking in sp. Depots are no collision zones so ignore everyone else.
First, park in your own time. There's no rush.
Second, use all available cameras. Real drivers will get out and look, or have a friend guide them - they do not do the whole park alone from the cab.
Third, until you're confident with a turn park, line up the truck for a straight reverse into the bay. if there's space, just u-turn on the parking spot and straighten out for the reverse. You'll save yourself a load of time and hassle. otherwise just do a rough park, drive out, and you should be mostly straightened. Use very small amounts of steering to correct the last bit.
A common suggestion for keeping straight while backing up is to turn left if the trailer appears in the right mirror and vice versa.
The best advice though is to just keep practicing and it'll soon come naturally.

I'm not using multiplayer right now, I want to learn parking before even playing multiplayer.
My only experience with multiplayer was that I spawned in one of my garages and went looking for a new job, when I got one I started going to the destination but when I exited the depot I saw a guy without a trailer and he started ramming me, I managed to escape and he followed me until he managed to turn my truck over and I just said "that's it" after 4 minutes and rage-quitted, wow.
I played MP with my friend without incident for 5 hours until we got in an accident somehow and both flipped and broke our trucks. I was laughing so hard I got a headache and couldn't play anymore.

it was fine until you merged into my lane and made me roll 5 times and get 100% damage
you should've slowed down
My friends are saying I should play this but they don't actually know about the MP mod. Where can I get the MP mod, and do you know of any sales for the game right now?
Nevermind found a sale: Humble Bundle: ETS2 for $10

Rammers are annoying yes, but I think they can be somewhat avoided. If you see someone rushing towards you just quickly stop your truck and go to menu. Then after a while continue playing.
Also save your game every now and then. If someone really rams you like 100% dmg then just load your save and continue. At least a good reminder is to save before going into a city.
Is there anyway to go in and change how much money my profile has so I can buy all the trucks.

'Bout the same price I guess, converting the currency.
This one has more DLC though, if I'm looking right.
Guess it's time I dish the cash for this one, been demo'ing ETS games for too long.
Edit:
I guess in the end it's the choice of the other games that you get with the game.
The bundlestars one comes with a pack of driving sims (more truck driving, bus driving, even more truck driving)
This game is really great if you just want to chill while listening to music. It's really relaxing and almost a spiritual experience.

You don't even need to remember to save, the game autosaves every 10 minutes - even while you're moving
While this game is a fun time waster, I feel like it really lacks depth, and the graphics aren't really good enough to keep me entertained. After the 5th hour I feel like I've experienced all this game has to offer. Get a cool truck, upgrade the engine, eh everything else is too expensive. Get a 400k loan, hire a couple of drivers, pay back debt, repeat. Now I'm over 20 hours and that feeling really hasn't changed.
I will say that it is fun to see how fast I can get a load transported without completely fucking up traffic and my truck, like here (minus the trailer)

That was right before I bumped into a guard rail and flipped on the highway racking up 50k in repairs :v:
I think I'll give multiplayer a go, that sounds like it would spice stuff up. Are there any other mods worth while?
If you haven't got any radio mods, there are plenty out there to implement your local radio stations.
What file do the playlist files have to be in for them to work in game?
Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\live_streams.sii
Just open it with a text editor and follow the pattern to add more, it's simple

I flipped my truck at 155 with a 70 ton train from a mod on the flatbed. From 0% damage on truck and trailer I ended up with 100% on both.
