I need a euro truck simulator and spintires crossover. Taking shipments through rough weather and terrain.
I tend to see quite a few people around the Berlin area and traveling to and from England. Take any random city in mainland Europe and there'll probably be 4-5 people there at any given time. I always like when I pass people on the country roads
I have mixed experiences when it comes to country roads - on one hand, I sometimes happen to drive and create convoys with german drivers (germans are really nice in this game, as opposed to brazillians and russians who have no respect to the laws of driving, and also physics), but on another hand there's heckload of ppl trying to take really sharp turns with their max speed, resulting in masacress on whoeveer was unlucky to be driving from the other side - usually me Check roads near the europoort, between larger german cities, and if you have the dlc, eastern poland you might even hit a proper traffic jam [editline]4th August 2014[/editline] havent played the game for quite some time tho, still need to recover from realizing that trucking till 5 am is not good for me vzoom honk
I found the going east countrys are less populated by players, since not everyone has that DLC. However amsterdam and rotterdam always have people there. The devs added a poll today about adding speed limits, just loving how most people go like "Speedlimit? Pff will ruin the game, gets boring, won't play"... most players tend to forget it's a simulator.
I dunno about an enforced speed limit but I already see that they kick for reckless driving. I tend to only go around 140km/h when I'm alone on the road.
I drive at a reasonable speed. Which means I'm going full blast, 120kph+ on straight roads. I slow down when the roads start to get curvy, when I'm near a city, and slow down my relative speed when approaching players on narrow roads.
I need to get playing MP again but I am scared of my cash even going lower due to all the rammers.
I need to get playing MP again but I am scared of my cash even going lower due to all the rammers.
Autosaves. If you see someone without an trailer trying to overtake, propably a rammer. In this case, just drive onto the standing lane and brake, once your truck stopped, press ESC and the game should've done an autosave. So even if you get rammed, you can easily continue. As for the speed limit, I usually drive 110kph if no one else is around and usually 90, so it wouldn't matter to me much, but I can see that some people like to drive faster for whatever reason. It's just funny because before everyone was flaming that the devs do nothing about rammers, and when they try to do something, they get flamed for it as well... I mean what else should the devs do?
I reload autosaves a lot and I just cross my fingers and hope no one is in my exact spot when I reload so they crash into my rear
I mean what else should the devs do?
unfortunately, there is nothing they can do. those who play to ruin other's experience will find their way into it.

It really just feels like a bandaid solution.
The speed limit will instead just promote blocking by removing the possibility to overhaul the overhead convoy. Due all of them driving the same speed. In which then a truck can "block" the other lane by simply switching.
So, what will the next update bring us?
So, what will the next update bring us?
Apparently some cargo DLC, maybe Going North, we'll see. Also the Trucksim map's been updated if anyone uses that. Edit- Playing this with an F1 wheel is the best shit.
The scandinavia addon is due to 8th of october, according to Amazon. The next update is just some tweaks to their DLC system, nothing gameplay relevant. However the DLC will include 7 new cargos: air conditions, an helicopter, a yacht, a heavy pipe, a tractor, a driller and some tracks. To be honest, the only ones that make sense are the air conditions and heavy pipe, everything else just looks weird, especially the yacht. [t]http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3e5vM4AHiaM/U-THoT9uETI/AAAAAAAAA8o/D79nAiMlFuo/s1600/005.jpg[/t] However, on the cover of the scandinavia addon it says it includes also new high power cargo, so I'm not sure if I'm going to buy that high power DLC. Also the devs of the multiplayer mod are waiting for update 1.12 to update the mod, so that comes as well.
that yacht will probably become one of the biggest horrors to move around with such a high Centre of mass (if it's heavy that is)
Has anyone else noticed a serious decline in the truck physics with the 1.11 update? Slightest corner and the whole truck (Without a trailer!) starts dancing around like the suspension is rock solid. I tried messing with the new stability control but it's almost unplayable with the G27 now, the wheel is just constantly "clacking" around as the wheels bounce. I have no mods installed. [editline]Edit[/editline] A new profile seems to fix the issue, but why would an unmodified profile have this issue in the first place :s
v1.12 out offering some vanity stuff, new job market filters and the new cargos dlc http://blog.scssoft.com/2014/08/just-released-ets2-ver-112-and-new-high.html http://store.steampowered.com/app/304214/ Older related blog posts http://blog.scssoft.com/2014/08/get-ready-for-euro-truck-simulator-112.html http://blog.scssoft.com/2014/08/high-power-cargo-pack-dlc.html
that yacht will probably become one of the biggest horrors to move around with such a high Centre of mass (if it's heavy that is)
Actually the centre of mass wouldn't be too high, a yacht like that will weigh about 15 tonnes, 7 or so of those tones would be in the keel, right at the bottom, and that should drag down the centre of mass enough for it to be controllable. a yacht is quite deceptive in where its mass is since most of the volume of it is empty space and light fiberglass.
Any engine mods, 1500-2000hp, that works as of today for all trucks?
So when do we get the Questionable Ethics DLC? So that we can start transporting our own Afghan immigrants to the UK on a ferry from Belgium? :v:
I bought a new truck for the first time since I've bought the game on release. I used to have a really cheap Renault and I loved the interior, mirrors and readouts but it didn't have any fucking power. I bought the beefiest truck I could find. Traded in my old truck for a Volvo. 700HP now I can barely handle the power but I'm so glad I can actually gain speed. Stop and Go traffic doesn't make me want to kill myself anymore. Unfortunately my favorite feature of my old truck was the MPH electric speedometer and the new Volvo doesn't have one so I have to use my GPS to figure out my speed.
so I had a quick peek at the ets2mp forums and the next patch is expected in the next couple of days, but it includes a controversial change - a forced 90 km/h speed limiter. Personally I don't mind, it is supposed to be a sim, but wow the shitstorm the community have whipped up over this is unreal. All without actually playing the mod with this change and seeing what effect it has.

Otherwise it shouldn't be that hard to learn really, just think that 60 MPH = 100 KPH and then go on from there. The speed limit is experimental, if it doesn't work the way the devs had planned, it's gonna be removed again. Also mph is easy, just multiply by 1,6. Example: You see a 50mph sign, *1,6 that'd be around 80kph. However whenever I see a 50mph, 60mph or 70mph sign, I usually divide it by half and add that to it, so for 50mph you'd have 75kph, 60mph = 90kph, 70mph = 105kph. With the new update, you won't need to do this when you have that route advisor(F3) enabled, since then it's gonna show you how fast you're allowed to go. Sadly, this doesn't work on the interior GPS. And the multiplayer mod was supposed to be released today, atleast the devs said so in a post on their fb site. Edit: Apparently it's due evening time, so propably 3 hours or so until it's out.

I have to side with the "not a solution" crowd because the vast majority of my problems happen in cities and not on the highway at 140 km/h.
The thing is, people usually ram others due to desync, which a speed limit could help to reduce. However a more "dynamic" one would be nice, like you can't go faster than 50kph in cities, 70kph on normal roads and 110kph on the highway. But it's useless to suggest on the forums, since somehow the people over there are total idiots and make 100 threads for the same thing...
Most incidents for me involved players coming the other way anyway which a speed limit won't help one bit with, but I'm willing to play with it and see what effect it has before making my mind up. [editline]19th August 2014[/editline] Also mp 1.0.8.3 download is now live
Afaik you can change all locale settings in the game settings, perhaps the MPH should be there too. Otherwise it shouldn't be that hard to learn really, just think that 60 MPH = 100 KPH and then go on from there.
I set it to MPH so my GPS is in MPH and -IF- the truck has an electronic speedometer than it appears in MPH. But my new truck doesn't have a digital speedometer so unfortunately I'm stuck with my GPS to tell my speed. Changing the MPH/KPH doesn't change the physical speedometer that comes with the truck and I can't get too distracted converting KPH/MPH or I end up drifting out of my lane. I'm really looking forward to America Trucker. I love Euro Trucker but I'm not European so the setting doesn't do anything for me. I want to be back home where I actually know what the street signs mean, know the road rules and recognize most of the routes. I'm not sure how big the America Trucker map will be (I hope it's East to West Coast) but compared to Europe I think America has some better diversity in road networks and environments.
And yet another poll about the speed limiter: http://forum.ets2mp.com/showthread.php?tid=8550 It's amazing how people rage over this.
I hope ETS2 MP gets microphone support so I can patch it through Virtual Audio Cable with a low pass filter and do this
