The latest SCS patch said something about "Support for an additional low-quality vehicle LOD", I just hope the mp guys will do something with that. Now I don't know what exactly the cause of the frame drops is, but I guess it has to do with loading the details from other peoples trucks. Having a few different LODs for each type of a truck could help, as in it would then only load the high detail one if you're in close range.
And keep in mind that the multiplayer mod is still a beta version.

Can't wait.
The LoD thing if implemented in multiplayer should pretty much solve the issue. When you have 30-50 trucks around you, that's about 10 times higher than what the game was ever intended for. If the LoD models can take 50 trucks and make them have the detail of 10, we're golden
Hell, at the furthest range a truck is rendered you could make it a square and a rectangle and that't it and not be able to tell
They released a new hotfix: http://forum.ets2mp.com/index.php?%2Ftopic%2F826-011-r2-alpha%2F

Let's see if it helps.
now the servers kept kicking me out for a high ping after this hotfix(update)
Time to re-install and convoy
Hadn't much time yesterday, so only drove around Berlin a bit, but from what I saw it lagged even more than before. But then I really can't tell, since my PC is pretty old.
However I had little "hickups" when driving on the road and passing people, so maybe that's fixed now.
And I also got kicked for high ping, but that's propably because my flat mate was downloading games on his PS4.
Is there an alternate download for the multiplayer client? The file on the site is corrupt.
For anyone who's interested, there's an holiday event going on at World of Trucks. Basically you have to deliver gifts for a total distance of 4500km(2800 miles) and they'll reward you with an exclusive paint job DLC(exclusive as in it can only be earned this way, not bought).
However it only works if you update your game to 1.15 and if your ingame profile is connected to your World of Trucks profile.

Is this some particular job, or just haul shit around for 4500km ?

Well they're a special cargo, called christmas gifts. They weigh 22 tons everytime and you usually find them at companys like TradeAux, Transinet, LKW and Stokes. There's more information in this guide.
Also the MP Team just released a new update to support version 1.15, they also added a winter mod which is supposed to make everything snowy, haven't tried that out yet though since the download was pretty slow.
It has been a little since we posted. My mind ceased to remember that this thread existed.

They've posted a few more scandinavian, and even Americant Trucks pics on the blog.
Just couldn't be assed to post them all :v:

I'd like it if they added Nevada, but at the same time I feel like it would just be a lot of open desert.
Anyone know how to reuse an old profile in a new install of ETS2? I've tried putting my old folder back in my documents but the game doesn't recognise it. My profile was connected online but I don't know if that makes a difference.

18 euros? Ouch, that's quite expensive, I'll wait for a sale but then I'll surely get it
My cousin showed me our hometown in Sweden. Not everything's there, certainly, but the shit that is there is spot on.
They put a lot of care and love into this DLC.
I bought the Scandinavia DLC as soon as it came. I'm honestly quite disappointed since the price tag is way too high for the content that it offer. 10€ would have been a lot more suitable. So far the whole DLC has been jumping from a ferry to another ferry.
Me and my buddy decided to start new profiles since the game was getting dull as we had everything already. I gotta say it's nice to be a newbie again with a shitty engine :v:

Also I would have loved that the DLC had been "Nordic" instead of "Scandinavia". I'm sad that Finland was left out ;_;
I agree, €17.99 is a little too steep for what it brings to the game. I will buy it at some point, of course, but it bugs me that by the time I will pick it up, the DLC area will be almost empty in MP, just as Poland, Slovakia and Hungary are right now.
aw man, I thought the price for the DLC would be like €8. €18 is a bit too much IMO
I remember that I bought the game for like 5€ and now I payed 18€ for a simple DLC. Not sure why they priced it so high.
I've been thinking of getting this in the sale. What DLC is worth getting? Looks like Scandinavia, Going East!, and High Power Cargo Pack are the only ones that really change gameplay.
Yep, they're the only DLC you need for all gameplay aspects. There have been various free changes too since release, SCS have mostly been fair in what they give everyone vs what they make you pay for.
If you're looking at the DLC from a multiplayer standpoint, none of them are required. The areas added in the Going East DLC tend to be mostly empty of players though. The Scandinavian areas are quite busy - part of that is these areas are quite new, but they also connect with some of the busiest areas of the map for multiplayer so I don't see the area becoming empty, at least the southern cities. If you don't have the High Power Cargoes DLC then any player hauling any of its cargoes will appear to be hauling an empty trailer.
I was dissapointed that Helsingborg (where I live) doesn't really remind me of helsingborg at all and the road to malmö is missing some serious landmarks too :(
American Truck Simulator is now available to buy on steam, thought i'd let you guys know
Nice. Probably gonna pick it up some time this week.
