The fall saury event has come back for 2016 with different rewards and new cg for the boats.
With 3 fish caught, you get a type 3 sonar and a furniture fairy
With 8 fish caught, you get the choice between a WG42, Search Light or a Daihatsu Class Landing Craft.
With 24 fish caught, you get the choice between the Type 96 150 cm Searchlight or this years fishing banner or last years fishing banner.
All of last years information on worlds to fish on appear to still hold true. Honestly some of the older kancolle players probably know more information than I can provide about it, so if you want an excuse to come back on before the event then here it is.

God, I don't get how people build up these massive 100k+ bauxite reserves that let them power through events so well
I started with 30k and I'm already down to 5k, dropping about a grand per sortie on E5, on EASY, even after having unlocked the second starting point
at least I finally got Sakawa after I missed my opportunity to get her at my very first event all those years ago

Finished the event for a while now, no sunk ships though again I forgot that bauxite is a resource, you should probably stock up on.

Sara is adorable though, worth it. Probably going to skip farming for a second Prinz, even though it's so easy to farm on E6. But my bauxite though.

Bauxite consumption ramped up once Land Base Aerial Support was added also add to the fact that most of this event was about Carrier Task Forces and it just an easy bauxite sink hole.

I'm grateful that the Saratoga is actually useful in terms of stats, it's been kind of lame how many of the 'cool' event rewards like the carriers recently aren't really any good aside from looking cute
Like of recent event rewards I think Prinz and Iowa are the only ones I field with any degree of regularity (discounting the inevitable thankless task of farming up the latest batch of new destroyer hairstyles)

Well, there's not much left in the IJN fleet anymore other than trophy destroyers. Hence why they're always showing up these events.
I mean, I doubt Shinano is going to show up anytime soon. So I hope we'll get to see some more US based ships, I hope we'll see some heavy cruisers in the next event or soon.
But then again maybe Tanaka will shovel lots of American DDs next.

i considered her a weak link of the fleet for a while, but i respect her a bit more now after she saved my ass

The Takao class, Maya Choukai Atago is supposed to be the strongest heavy cruisers in the game then kai ni's came around to fairly redistribute the strength based on ship performance.
This event although I couldn't kill E4 LD and get E5 done for Saratoga wasn't really shit tier for me.

I honestly need to get around to making more fighters too, having this event and needing 18-odd high end fighters between my carriers and airbases was a huge pain
Night battle kit is easy though, just go through the newer DD and Sendai KN's and you'll be more than set
I had to emergency churn out some shiden k2s for e5's air defenses. Murdered my baux but it worked out in the end.
As someone with 14 Type 0 M21 Skilled fighters sitting around waiting for them to be needed in LBAS, I'm pretty disappointed with the new planes and they better get an upgrade quest in the future.

They can be improved to eventually become m52 skilled and can skip the m32 if you do it via (monthly?) quests though they lose their range. Something to say though is that those m21's have a good AA stat and has the longest range of any fighter in the game. Those jets although not confirmed for the combat range yet will likely have medium-short ranges from what I understand of jet technology of ww2.
Even if they get the same range as the M21's, you have to realize that the general advanced (lvl 100+ tkk's) will not be amassing more than 1 or 2 jets of the same item unless slowly through events. I will however eat my words if they bring back this in its original jet powered form.

That was posted like right before the update, I was talking about Saratoga's planes being disappointing. Though it sounds like they'll be upgradeable after another maintenance cycle or two (the fighters, at least).
I like the M21s specifically for their high range and placebo stats, if I need the extra fighter power I'll add shinden kai 2 or reppu's to my loadout instead, they normally don't see any action though unless it's in LBAS.
New jets look promising but it sounds like they're going to eat through like 80-100 screws to finish along with consuming reppu and ryuusei planes.
