she's 100% just a shield/energy alternative to torbjorn's physical. Torb gives 75 armor per pack, effectively absorbing between 80 (if nailed by 80+ damage in a single shot [widowmaker]) and 150HP (all bullets hitting do 10 or less damage each), but it does not regenerate as it's destroyed. Symmetra grants 25 shield, which melts as fast as health but will always regenerate (provided the protected doesn't die since people die hella fast anyways). People would need to take 25+ damage and survive to get out of combat SIX TIMES to have mitigated as much.
despite the shield regenerating, torb's packs do WAY more damage mitigation during average gameplay, and he doesn't have to remember to re-apply all the time nor have line of sight, he just throws the buggers all over and people grab it as they can. If your armor bonus has taken damage, a new pack will instantly bump it back to 75, whereas symmetra can't manually reapply a full shield to players (THAT would be supportive!). I could see Symmetra being better at support if she still granted 50 shield, but as it stands she's is 100% defense and should be right next to Torb

No she's really not. A decent McCree won't high noon in the middle of the open where a Widowmaker can just snipe him. I've killed tons of high nooning McCrees just by being active on the map and checking my flanks, nothing is more satisfying than hooking a high nooning McCree as Roadhog.

Honestly buying boxes seems like a waste to me. I don't care how other people spend their cash, but to me earning boxes is like the game's only real form of progression beyond the arbitrary number on your portrait and improving your skills.

Don't you see? It's all part of Blizzard's big plan. They pull us in with a great game and the beta. They make the beta Loot Boxes have a higher rarity rate. Puts us into a false sense of security that we would continue to get good stuff when the game release. What do they do? They lower the rarity rates so we would only get sprays and soundbites. It makes us want to buy loot boxes so we can actually have a better chance of getting something that we can actually use. But nope they will still just give you crap. It's all one massive conspiracy man.

High Noon is terrible because you have to use positioning and awareness to get 5 kills unlike half of the Q's in this game.
I work too much to devote time to games lately, so the loot crates are good for me. I can afford 5 bucks every two weeks for sure, and when I bought a 5 pack, I got the green plague doctor skin for Reaper.
So it was kinda worth it, especially since the gold/yellow hued skins are 1000 monies.
