Ugh.
Well i think 1-2 hours of sleep/other stuff can be sacrificed for this.
Mercy player signed up.
:v:
I think Symmetra's in-game character needs to play up her emotionless/autism more. Like her scientist alt costume fits it way more than her thigh highs and dress, as much as I enjoy that look. Her character and her design have way too large a dissonance.
Also to fill time that doesnt turn into waifu shitting, try designing a character for your country if you dont have one alreadt.

I am terrebly torn between a legit character design or a joke character design right now.

We should also get a proper tournament set up about a month into the release, once everyone's had time to get familiar with the game.

Barry Shitpeas, his primary weapon is a broken glass he stabs people with, he has a self heal of booze from down the pub that also gives him a minor damage buff, and he can taunt an enemy to run at him by insulting their mother. His ultimate is calling in the lads (summoning 3 or so units to fight)

I've already played a round of 'Mei only' and it was a disaster.

Obviously D.Va will be the real winner in that tournament

Mei's really weak in any comp that heavily relies on her. Any solid midrange hero like Tracer and Reaper can blow her up extremely quickly, and heroes like Pharah don't really even to worry about her.
I wonder what the "valuable secret" Junkrat found was and when Blizzard will tell us.

Funny, I got effortlessly roflstomped by Mei when playing as Reaper
I wish Widowmaker was actually the cold, emotionless killer that she was originally presented as, as opposed to just liking to kill people which that always seems to translate you.
Not only would it have helped to make her less generic, but it would also have worked well thematically. We already have machines that behave like humans, it would have been interesting to have a human that behaves basically like a machine.
Or at very least do more with the whole femme fatale thing that she's got going with her outfit, at the moment her overall design feels muddled. She's an emotionless killer, but she also really just loves killing people, but she also likes dressing in impractically revealing clothing. Unless the ever looming possibility of a wardrobe malfunction keeps her on edge, her design really doesn't seem to fit her character. She's like three different clichés all at once and they don't mesh well together.
Not only does Reaper have the DPS to kill Mei before he gets frozen, he can also go into wraith form to escape/reset if shit goes wrong
All of these Mei counters seem to keep forgetting the fact she can become invulnerable for 4-5 seconds and heal back to full health.

Most Meis would just pop their ice cube before they could die so really such an encounter would end in a draw at best. The only real ways to reliably kill a Mei are instant kills and stuns.
Seriously though Mercy's voice is awful, she has no emotion behind it

Widowmaker strikes me as the only blatantly bad/boring character in the roster. Apart from blue skin, she's visually not all that interesting (insert jokes about round bottoms) and personality-wise, well, she hardly has anything. Surprisingly, however, that little she has is just downright contradictory. Constantly I'm told that she is unable to feel human emotions and then we get this short that's all about how she feels emotion only after a kill. Okay, whatever. But then, when Tracer is asking her why she done did what she do, she's shown to clearly enjoy what's currently happening; going literally against the one thing we know about her.
The way I see it, she had really two ways of being interesting in any way without changing the base ideas surrounding her: Firstly that she really doesn't feel emotion, just like mentioned above. Secondly, it could've been cool to see the "enjoyment out of killing" to a downright extreme. Have a character that literally just doesn't act like a human, right up until the moment of the kill, when they're suddenly overcome by a somewhat sadistic euphoria or some shit. In the end, though, Widowmaker as is is just a weird mishmash of traits and clichés that not only don't work together, but also make for one boring and uninteresting character. Which is a shame because I think the character Widowmaker could've been had a lot of potential. She used to be, sorta, aboard Overwatch so people like Tracer and Soldier: 76 should know who she used to be, but was turned into something kinda abhorrent and completely turned against them. There could be a lot of cool shit about this but nah here's an ass carrying a sniper and she likes to kill, big whoop.
It's stuff like this that really make me kind of wary about the narrative side of Overwatch. I just now read up on all the lore I could find and there are some snippets of honest greatness there. Then we see the shorts that are really all eye-candy and have nothing else going for them, really. It makes me fear that if we're ever told what Talon are really for or what sparked the Omnic crisis('s) they'll kinda suck. Right now, Overwatch is kind of in the same boat as Team Fortress 2 or Dota 2, just on a whole new level: since the game and the narrative are two separate entities, you can do quite a lot with both of them and result in some cool shit. Overwatch, however, has a lot more going for it than either Valve games ever did, and you can easily see how much both of those have done.
