Its a game based around characters. People will always have a favorite they want to play the most.

I mostly played as Pharah and Genji since to me none of the other characters were "fun" or I wasn't good when playing as them. I suck with the current support characters. I played the entire offensive roster frequently + supports/defense occasionally and switched according to the situation, but if there wasn't a clear counter to the enemy team available I'd just go to my comfort picks aka mains, so Soldier 76 and Reaper. Nothing really wrong with it as long as you don't go full on tunnel vision with your character selection.
