I don't know, I'm a filthy casual. I smile and bounce around and laugh like a madman when I play games. If someone saw me playing DOOM for example, they would probably be slightly concerned with me going "HAHAHA YEAAAAAH!!!" when I chainsaw demons in half. Or on Overwatch when I play as Winston and rage and manage to punch Mei's teeth in. I usually go "FUCK YOU YOU BITCH!" It's a glorious moment. :v:

Not much of one as far as player mindset goes. They're still competing for money and all.
Maybe I just can't control emotions that well. Because when I am doing good I get all joyful looking, when I am doing bad I look pissed.
I would think that during something as big as that emotions would be tripled.

Emoting takes away from concentration. I've played Fighting Game tournaments before, and I watch a lot of them, and emotion can mess with you. It's always best to keep calm and calculated.
