Went to Hollywood Blvd. [t]http://i.imgur.com/XKfoPCX.jpg[/t] :ok:
I see you're wearing your fantastic Overwatch jacket. Best thing I have purchased in awhile, it's so comfy.
Mei is disgustingly powerful I don't even understand how this is a debate, she NEEDS a patch She's the only character I won't hook as roadhog because she will survive the first shot and stun spam you before you can finish the job
Any good player should be able to take care of a "X" no problem. Someone isn't OP just because a bad player can't do anything against them. You can replace X with any character.
Is this in response to
I might as well argue that Bastion is OP because people who are bad at the game are just going to feed themselves one by one into his killzone, you shouldn't be arguing the balance of characters based off of people who have bad game sense or reaction times.
? If so then I don't think that a Mei player being able to literally just press 1 button in reaction to a bunch of damage markers popping up behind them and half their health disappearing is an unreasonable expectation. If not then I'm making an ass out of myself :v
You've mentioned that Mei isn't strong without her team
No I didn't?
sounds like your argument is coming from a place of salt and frustration
Well he's got a point, it's a bad idea to hook a healthy Mei. But you've also got a point. As someone who played Mei and Roadhog - Mei is def a hard counter to Roadhog.
No I didn't?

Mei's team is not always going to be around to save her
Healing 200HP and being invulnerable while the ice-wall refreshes means Mei doesn't need a team to save her. I use it all the time in 1 v 1 (or even 1 v 3+) and come out just fine if I can wall them off immediately after.
sounds like your argument is coming from a place of salt and frustration
Sounds like yours is coming from bias
Sounds like yours is coming from bias
It's bias to know how a character plays and know ways to possibly counter them? Well alright.
The only thing I think I would actually say is legit unbalanced about Mei isn't even about Mei herself, but that with the way that most of the current maps in Overwatch are designed it is often very difficult not to fight her inside her ideal range unless you happen to be playing Pharah and can just fly above her fun zone (or the Mei is on the attacking team, I guess)
It's bias to know how a character plays and know ways to possibly counter them? Well alright.
The clear solution is to make Mei even fatter and move her into the Tank category. :vs:
The clear solution is to make Mei even fatter and move her into the Tank category. :vs:
Just make her jacket 30 pounds heavier.
btw there's an Overwatch stream happening https://www.twitch.tv/ogn_overwatch Blizz devs vs cosplayers I think. It's in Korean though.
The ad breaks are hilarious. Is fist bumping some new concept in Korea? That cell phone ad seemed to revolve around how 'cool' it was to fist bump with your friends.
Sounds like yours is coming from bias
Mei is a strong hero, but I wouldn't consider her overpowered. The game is still new to all of us and there will be strategies that come out post-launch on how to deal with her.
Sounds like yours is coming from bias
imo nothing I've posted has been wildly untrue, I've just been posting arguments that I think make sense, rather than just "mei is op because she beats my favourite character"
I always like to look towards a professional scene, they're going to study the game in and out. Usually these tricks trickle down to the casual user in the end.

I'm gonna put it to rest right now. No one is op, this game is nicely balanced, just get good at the game and learn to Hero switch. If you die to a hero alot, they're probably better than you at that hero most likely. Now enough, we all have one more day to wait until we worry about Blizzard's servers blowing up Bellevue.
How to balance mei: 250hp -> 200 hp. This would make her easier to burst down before she gets a chance to pop her ice block as well as making her less powerful in 1v1.
Mei is a strong hero, but I wouldn't consider her overpowered. The game is still new to all of us and there will be strategies that come out post-launch on how to deal with her.
This works both ways though. If you're saying "It's too early to say this character is OP", you have to also admit "It's too early to say this character won't be OP". Mei could just as well find new strategies that make her more effective or perhaps Winston or Pharah will uncover a new strategy that makes them more powerful. For all we know, the relatively balanced state that Overwatch is currently in will fall to pieces once people learn the ins and outs of the characters. So I don't think this line of thinking works as a means of shutting down discussion of which character are OP. Not without shutting down all other discussion of balance anyway.
No one is OP or UP until the game comes out and it's had time for things to settle and everyone learns how to counter.

It's too judgmental to immediately say that something is downright bat shit OP when per map strategies and PvP match-ups haven't been fully finalized. We don't even know if there is going to be a day zero balancing patch yet.
Mei is in a weird place. She's not so powerful to demand a nerf like most people say. She's strong, just like every other hero is when played well. However, stuns are absolutely fucking horrible in any FPS game, no question. It feels like a feature they felt they had to carry over because of the game's MOBA influences. For how polished and well designed overwatch is you'd think they would know to never take full control away from the player. It feels bad. It's not fun. Mei isn't overpowered, she's just not fun and doesn't really have a place in this game. Sure, freezing people and getting those headshots is nice but you have to consider how the other 6 people feel that are forced to watch as you lazily line up a headshot and rake in free kills.

I think Mei's stun is only frustrating because it's so easy to pull off while being virtually impossible to avoid when you're in range and it has absolutely no downtime, she can just keep spraying it around until you get stunned, and even chain-stun you if you survive.
I swear it's either Mei get's pointlessly nerf'd, Nerf'd to kingdom come and be never played (Ala Warsong Commander from Hearthstone), or you might as well petition for her outright removal from the game, it would be more merciful then any mega nerf she might get that would kill her usefulness.
Mei has a place in the game like any other hero currently. She punishes most classes that get in her range. The counter to her is just staying out of her freeze range and making her retreat/killing her. And it's not "lazily" you can run circles around the Mei if they're bad enough and you get caught off guard. Run around corners to stop her from being able to freeze you. All these maps are pretty small, and this game is focused on teamplay. Complaining about her stun is like complaining about mcree's flashbang, roadhog's hook, junkrat's trap. It's all unique for each person, and there are several ways to counter each hero. It's too early to really tell if anything is overpowered, but from the beta every hero has a purpose and weakness. Just comes down to skill after that.
i don't even think mei is op but your guys arguments being that "well every x player is just bad" and salt meme is p dumb.
He posted no arguments for Mei being op other than she counters a character he plays, how is it dumb to say that comes from frustration
