Are you even trying.

Yeah you missed all the fun. I think I'm gonna do a cinematic run and cry knowing Doomfist is not an immediate reality.
I hope you guys start viewing Overwatch kind of through the lens of a MOBA, not in terms of lane control or anything but in terms of skill interactions. Discussions about balance here always seem to boil down to how annoying it is to get nailed by a McCree flashbang, or a Mei freeze or any other movement reduction mechanic, yet somehow during these times the existence of your abilities or effective ranges is just never considered or something "you shouldn't have to do." This especially applies to the offensive lineup, everyone there except Soldier I guess (he's midrange anyway, but can rocket jump in a pinch) can outplay immobilizers.
I'm not going to talk balance or anything here. I'm just going to say that I've yet to fight anyone that I could not outplay by using a panic key predictively (Tracer recall, Genji dash/reflect, Reaper phase, DVA matrix, Mei iceblock, whatever). And once again, this mostly applies to the offense lineup since they have the tools to create those outplays.
While Overwatch does have MOBA elements, it is still at its core a First Person shooter and should be primarily treated as such. That being said, there are plenty of MOBA elements that work better in a first person perspective, just as there are those that don't.
Movement abilities work very well in a FPS. I'd go as far as to say that they are even better compared to a traditional top-down perspective. Pharah's shift ability is something that is done better in a FPS, as if you went traditionally with a top-down perspective, you'd be limited to how far the character could travel vertically before they travel outside of the camera's FOV.
Meanwhile, abilities like stuns and slows are much worse when you're in a first-person perspective. As it was mentioned before, removing control from the player is not fun and is terrible game design. The fact that these abilities aren't just being applied to a character, but are actually being applied to you magnifies this problem greatly. These abilities not only affect your ability to fight, but they also affect your ability to look around. Let's imagine you are playing Dota 2 or League. Let's say your character gets stunned for a few seconds. Your character is frozen but you can still look around and click on other things, even if you have no real influence on what's going on. Now let's imagine that while your character is stunned, the game's cursor as well as the camera are locked in place. The effect is so much worse, right? It is confusing, jarring, and takes you out of the experience. In one moment you are in full control, and then in the other you can't do anything.
Hell, even in games like TF2, if you get stunned by a sandman or something, you just get thrown into a third-person view and can orbit your guy as they crawl around. You still have control in these circumstances.
I can't wait to get into casting again for this.
Last day for 21 Days of Overwatch on DeviantART.

Just 6 more hours to the new Animated Short video.
Last day of no Overwatch is gonna be the longest. Think I'll just mentally shut down and re-play Mario 64 all day or something.
First character i played in the open beta was reaper and i love the game ever since. Took me a while to understand the "ghost" mode on reaper though. I kept using it to get into middle of the enemies and dying. Oh and has the soldier 76 video come out yet?
While Overwatch does have MOBA elements, -stuff-.
I get the point about immobilizers not feeling great in first person, but my post isn't about hurt feelings or if they're healthy for the game or not. My point is that right now those effects are in the game, and you have your own suite of abilities to deal with or stop yourself from being affected by them entirely if you think ahead.
It's alright to debate the healthiness of these skills, but there is way too much "this is impossible to counter!!!!" sort of stuff going on right now here and elsewhere, and it's simply 100% untrue.
Hopefully Blizzard maintains a very hands off approach to balancing like they do for other games.
That guy is not as knowledgeable as the Overwatch development team about their own game.
It's actually really common for development teams to be bad at their own games and make horrible balancing decisions. See: CSGO revolver update, the entirety of Tribes Ascend

Well every major CSGO balance update has been followed up by another update fixing what they broke in the previous one. So far it seems Blizz have just been following what the high skill community has to say. I.E Bastion is OP at low level but underpowered at high level how do we fix this?
I'd buy both Pharah and Genji. But for now the Soldier 76 statue that comes with the CE will do.
I really hope the Pharah statue has a motion detector and when someone gets too close it automatically plays her "Stand Back!" line.
So is Genji an official Warframe crossover or what? I can't figure it out

No he's an official Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance crossover.

I would believe that, but he has the same moveset as the Warframe character. The Exalted Blade, The double jump, the ability to block bullets, the Slash Dash
I just can't help but feel it's intentional

Overwatch is a massive combination of already existing games.
There are elements from HALO , COD , WARFRAME , LEGO , TF2 and plenty of other games.

I'm sorry, but what do you mean by Lego? Sure I get Halo and Warframe, but I don't see Reaper chucking bricks of lego on the floor while laughing maniacally.
Reaper is actually a Lego man. Why do you think he wears a mask?
Junkrat lost a leg after stepping on a lego brick barefoot.

Torbjorn walking animation reminds me of Lego...

"build 'em up, break 'em down"
He even has the lego hands!

So if I step on a Torbjorn will I suffer intense pain for 5 seconds?
[editline]22nd May 2016[/editline]
Like, literally, if I step on him in-game will I gain a 5 second DOT?
