One piece of glass can't effectively refract all wavelengths of light equally, so in lenses without corrective layers, you have different wavelengths refracting slightly differently. So many games will just do basic RGB shifting to simulate it, even though Red Green and Blue aren't the colors you'd really see in an image.
Higher end lenses have more engineering and components in place to help correct for this and focus on refracting some wavelengths more than others to keep the image very clear. Often, even on entry level lenses you have to really zoom in to notice it, and it's typically on highlights or rather highlights are where you'll notice the color shifting. Otherwise it will just look a little soft. So it's actually pretty unrealistic if it's going for a camera lens effect because you'd have to be using a cheap lens from like the 70's to see CA of those amounts.
Other "artifacts" like lens flares/glare, depth of field, and motionblur though are present simply due to the nature of light's interaction with lenses, so those aren't as big of an issue, though they are of course personal preference.

I finally finished the move after a wedding then two grueling days of carrying stuff down to a different building.
Also it turns out comcast fucked up the wiring at this unit and needs to send a technician, who they don't think will be available til Tuesday. Thanks comcast not like I don't have plans to be online for work either! I just lost a potential VR programming gig because I had no way to access and review some files to give a quote for a meeting tomorrow morning

I have at&t. Worst then Cumcast. The technicians for at&t are sooooo lazy. And they get nothing done. You are lucky.

That is what I heard from my friend. The dev panel that was pre-recorded was full of cinematic developers, and didn't really pertain to how the game functions.
