What is the best control set-up for aircrafts? Mine is being funky

W/S - Control pitch
A/D - Control roll
Q/E - Control yaw
Shift/Ctrl - Throttle up/down
No clue why they bound it to the numpad in the first place, considering a lot of PC makers are dropping numpads to save cost and space.
Playing one handed is atrocious. I could try to manipulate five different functions in a cramped space with five fingers, or I could manipulate five different functions in a less cramped space with ten.

Thats the set-up I use, but E also activates the weapon cam on the valkerie or the buzzard so I cant yaw right propperly

Well, in cases like mine, I really don't have a choice. For me it's either rebind the flight controls to the movement keys (or use a controller), or don't fly at all.
Flying without the ability to manipulate the camera is godawful, regardless. The automatic angle doesn't show you enough of what's below to your rear when flying a heli, so you're prone to clip the tail on everything while landing. It's even worse in combat, since the fire button is on the mouse and you need to constantly move your hand around the keyboard for various functions while also keeping the enemy in view. And don't even get me started on how impossible it is to fly in first person without control of the camera.
And if you're thinking "then just put one hand on the numpad and the other on the mouse"... Isn't that just the same as if I were using WASDQE anyway?

W/S - Control pitch
A/D - Control roll
Num 4/Num 5 - Control yaw
Shift/Ctrl - Throttle up/down
Space - Fire
Num 0 - Change weapons
You're still screwed when it comes to controlling the camera mid-flight, but you can move your hand from the numpad to the mouse if you're not in combat/making any sharp turns. Also doing anything in first person is generally a mistake, apart from when you're fighting on the ground, but even then, being able to see the immediate area around you and not having your camera being shook around constantly is better.

No. As someone who only switches to third person for screenshots yet still almost never crashes their planes or helis, no.
Flying in first person is actually great with just a little practice. The FoV is a bit low, but all of the instruments work, it's easier to aim your weapons, and you can actually tell how close stuff is in front of you. My only big complaint is that you can't lean to look down in a heli or look straight up in a jet. Move the mouse like you would move your eyes and you'll be perfectly fine, same deal as cars in first person.
first-person mode handles really awkwardly on foot i think, you can't sprint left or right, only forward, and the weapon models are huuuge on the screen. the FOV is too low even when maxed in-game too.
first person is amazing for fighting inside buildings though
plus, it's just more fun.
Also, first person is excellent for shooting from a car. You can toggle relative aiming in settings and it stays nice and steady even when the car doesn't.

It's as painless as if you were just moving that fast on foot. How the heck do you people get by without this?

By using thirdperson mode which is vastly better in every imaginable way since the game was made around it and FP was just a thing they threw there as a bonus. FOV is low, movement is awfully unresponsive, toggling ADS is super awkward with most weapons, scopes only makes it worse, FP camera in a car is seated way too low and usually puts you into disadvantage against anyone who uses third person mode and if you crash and flip, have fun figuring out what the fuck is going on.
Simply put, game wasn't made around FP camera and suffers a lot.
Also it gives me a headache and makes me nauseous due to low FOV.

It makes me laugh how R* used to ban people using FOV mods, claiming it was cheating when you could face players using third person view.

I love that default plate. :v:
Someone blew up my Elegy the other day, I claimed it tonight and totally failed to notice it was EddieLTU that did it.
fuk u eddie
Also I've finally got enough friends on PS4 to play heists. Admittedly one just started and is level 12 or something so we do carry him a bit, but he's got a good grasp on what to do.

It's mostly a mere suggestion, not a rule. Aim at pets and feet.

Shit like this is why I hate unmarked collectibles in games. You might grab a few throughout your playthrough, but when you look up a guide online, you have to try and remember the ones you already picked up.

What car is this? It sounds so good.
God damn, there's a lot of technique to fighting on Xbone apparently. Hard locking, side stepping, Houdini, you god damn name it. Hard locking and side stepping seems easy enough, also ninja walking seems to work rather well for run & gunning.
