I just don't see the point really Without collission the races just turn into "Who has the faster car" and racing against someone with the faster car that doesn't hit any obstacles is just really boring [editline]1st April 2016[/editline] Hell i hate being rammed but you don't see me whining about it, everyone has a different style of play, nobody should be punished for this, but that's just impossible to do
I quite like racing on GTA it feels good when you get enough people all trying to race nicely. But that rarely happens. When I used to host races, I'd always turn slipstream/catch up off and use different classes never going with supers, occasionally going with sports for faster layouts. Super races are mostly boring crash fests That said if you go into racing fully expecting it to be a shitfest and expecting that you'll do badly it can be fun
If you have to slam into other drivers to even have a chance of winning a race, you probably shouldn't be racing at all anyway.
You just need to learn how to make people trying to ram you crash into other shit. It's super satisfying when I make someone overshoot me when going for a ram and crash into a wall
If I want to have a gentleman's race, I'll just play Forza or something.
This is why they gave us the options in the first place, so we can race however we prefer to race in GTA, I'm just a more traditional racer and that's basically it. The most fun I had in a contract race in GTA when it was everyone in unmodified cars people stole off the street, then had an elimination race around the construction pit/track in the middle of the map. I really want to do that again now that I think about it.
Thing is, a lot of people don't know this, but GTAV's racing feels better than a lot of actual racing games when ramming is discouraged. It's very smooth and easy to control, combined with the exceptional variety of vehicles in each class (each with their own niche and obvious strengths), you wind up with much more interesting races than just another sim. Having the fastest car doesn't mean anything if you can't squeeze the most out of it possible. That's why "gentleman's racing" has such a surprisingly huge following, and has since the game came out. [editline]t[/editline] Seriously, take part in a 16-person muscle class race with agreed upon civility. You'll not only see maybe one or two repeated cars at most, but a genuine contest for first place. It feels so refreshingly different from what you'd expect.
GTAO can be played the way it is and still be fun, the problem is that many features just allow people to be dicks and face little to no penalty. Ramming is okay, fair to do in most races, however, ramming is just not cool when there's that one guy in a Zentorno or an Adder who just rams anyone who gets next to them and just play dirty all time. The problem isn't ramming, the problem is people who purposely ram a lot and just ruin the experience for the rest of the people. That's why I believe the game should be improved so people can find people who play the same way as them without having to go and look for crews and ask for invitations and such. If people race clean and like playing that way, the game should just seek other players who also play that way. If people like doing contact missions and heists and are quite good at it, they should be paired with players who also play that way. Right now the problem with Online is that it pairs people who don't really care for the game with people who do play frequently and like it.
I wish there was a way to build lobbies based around play time, or at least level. My worst experience in GTAO by far was when I was level 20 or so and getting relentlessly spawncamped by a level 200-something and their four 120+ friends, using every tool in their arsenal to stop me from going anywhere. This was back when you could nullify passive with a bounty too, so they'd do that to prevent me using it to escape. There was literally nothing I could do but leave. I couldn't even do that without alt-F4ing because one of them would kill me while I was in the menu immediately after respawning nine times out of ten. And it marked one of them as my nemesis, so I got put in a lobby with all five again the next day. WHAT THE FUCK. Level-based matchmaking (within 10 levels) would ensure everyone has access a similar set of tools, and significantly reduces the likelihood of this sort of ludicrous domination by one or a small group of players. It wouldn't really impact anyone above level 120, but for players 50 and under this would be a HUGE deal, and would make freemode far less brutal for them in the early stages. They might still run into someone their level who's WAY better at the game than them, but in that case they're actually a more skilled player, not just endowed with more stuff.

GTA-themed Mario Kart would be fucking rad though. Instead of becoming invincible after grabbing a star, you can take meth and attain the same effects (bonus speed, knocking people out, invincibility, etc.)

Anyone else having really nasty stutter problems lately, even after a reboot? Game stutters as much as several times a second, and nothing seems to fix it, not even reduced visuals.

Let it be known, April 1st, 2016 was an okay day. [t]http://i.imgur.com/VXN4LKJ.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/Zc2uIaO.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/8674ShG.jpg[/t]
Let it be known, April 1st, 2016 was an okay day. handshake RE boot
Friendly Trainer Reboot?
The handshake is what I got when I googled the word "Friendly" so I stuck with it. But yes. I have to work from scratch though because I lost everything [editline]e[/editline] On the bright side, I have been helping out with Enhanced Native Trainer still, so I don't have to start 100% from scratch. So, as much as I've played the original three 3D GTA trilogy games, I never actually beat them (being a six year old at the time of San Andreas' release) I've finished the IV "trilogy" and V, and now I'm going back and playing through the others for the first time ever. It's a weird experience seeing Vice City all over again after the years of playing it on PS2 through children's eyes. 3 I didn't play much due to not actually owning it and only playing at a friend's house, and my dad took away my copy of San Andreas that my uncle gave to me on the first day I had it, so I can't really say the same for those, but I swear, Vice City still feels just as fucking alive as the first time I ever played it. I've been wanting R* to make a new GTA in Vice City for a long while now, but after this? I don't really want that, I don't think. I'm worried I'll see the remade, possibly modern Vice City and that'll sour my current Vice City view, and I don't want that to happen. It'll be like how I felt when it finally set in that they retconned CJ and his whole story when I first rolled up to Grove Street in GTAV except way worse for me. Tommy Vercetti and his teal floral shirt will always be canon to me, regardless of what they do in the HD universe. I just realized that if I had announced the reboot earlier in the day I could've said I was renaming it "Super Aggressive" or something stupid.
So, as much as I've played the original three 3D GTA trilogy games, I never actually beat them (being a six year old at the time of San Andreas' release)
you... made this account when you were 9?

Well, time to never leave passive again. Worst part is I think I might've already run into this. Some guy kept snapping around getting headshots from a block or more away with the marksman pistol, and everyone was defending him saying it was just controller lock-on.
that's flak's offline menu
No I mean, apparently others have implemented these features before now, and I've been made aware that I was not in fact crazy and they do exist. My concern is they're becoming prevalent enough to harm the freemode experience even more, in a way that's extremely difficult to detect if used sparingly.

That's like 1 in 100? The average player count for games is around 3 for me.
I have finally found a way to kidnap people! :v:
