When i play i tend to invite people over for champagne in a plane Only to crash it into the sea
Get a bunch of people into a taxi, ask where they want to go. Then go Ocean.
Are there taxis in online? I don't think I ever saw one driving around?
Are there taxis in online? I don't think I ever saw one driving around?
you can always call one
Someone asked on another board how people would change the vehicle modification system if given the chance, and I gave a pretty... in-depth answer. If you want me to cut it and just summarize then throw boxes at me, but for the moment, here it is in its entirety:
- Engine, Transmission, Turbo and Brake upgrades work the same, aside from Engine correctly showing increase to top speed - Spoilers are split into size tiers, being Small, Large, and XL > Small spoilers, like low level wings and ducktails, work as they do now, giving a little traction boost with no downside > Large spoilers, like high level and stock car wings, increase traction even further and reduce wheel spin, but start to slightly reduce top speed > XL spoilers, like race and drag wings, provide a huge increase in traction, improved braking, and reduced wheelspin, but reduce top speed even more - Any body part added to the car (added, not replaced) will reduce all stats by a very small amount, as they add weight > The exception to the above are carbon parts, which do not reduce stats at all when added > For instance, a carbon spoiler will provide better performance than a body material / metal spoiler, because it does not add significant weight > Replacing existing parts with carbon or removing parts completely will instead slightly increase all stats, as they reduce the car's weight - Wheel type still does not affect vehicle stats by default, however, adding custom tires will incur a benefit based on the wheel type selected - The benefit incurred is generally what the corresponding class or niche would find to be most useful > High-end wheels increase braking, acceleration and traction very slightly, but the ride will be very firm and harsh > Muscle wheels increase acceleration substantially, but hurt braking and traction > Lowrider wheels decrease most stats by a considerable margin, but provide a much smoother, cushioned ride at all speeds > Sport wheels increase traction and acceleration by a noticeable amount, but the ride will be less smooth > SUV wheels noticeably improve traction and braking, but the ride will be less smooth > Tuner wheels reduce traction and braking, but grant a special traction condition which makes drifting easier and more effective, and increase acceleration slightly > Off-road wheels grant a big increase in traction and braking, in exchange for a big chunk of acceleration and top speed; the increases are doubled offroad, while the downsides are halved - All stat changes are clearly, properly indicated as you add or change parts; there are no "silent buffs" like suspension
[editline]t[/editline] And to those who disagree... Could you at least explain why? I feel like the universal complaint will be "it looks too complex"
Wheel changes should only affect traction. You're only replacing the wheel and the tire. If you want to take the complex approach, suspension should be the only thing that affects ride quality. [editline]27th April 2016[/editline] Splitters and skirts should also affect traction.
Wheel changes should only affect traction. You're only replacing the wheel and the tire. [editline]27th April 2016[/editline] Splitters and skirts should also affect traction.
Really though, these things just shouldn't have an impact because GTA is not a racing sim. It's not part of the F1 series. With the problems the game already has of people picking one specific vehicle, giving everything stat changes would triple-down on the problem. It goes from, "Everyone get this super-car." to "Everyone gets this super-car with this spoiler, this suspension, these wheels, this splitter and skirt, remove everything else." At what point does adding all of this even improve the game? It doesn't add diversity, it brings min-maxing to the forefront. Maybe almost all vehicles feel the same right now, but that adds massive diversity to what players can do with their vehicles because they're not having to worry between having a car that can actually function versus one that has the customization they want.
If you're the sort who doesn't care about minutia because you don't race, then you wouldn't bother with being choosy anyway, would you? It wouldn't really affect you. You wouldn't feel much of a difference in freeroam. For those who DO care, it would be a rather refreshing departure from the current, caveman-level "get max everything, if it doesn't have a spoiler then it's shit" racing meta. Cars could be configured to fill niches and excel where they previously wouldn't have been viable at all, like a lightweight Voltic with a maximum traction setup being able to keep pace with the likes of the top five supers in tight city courses and in drag races. Vehicles that are already great wouldn't gain as much from this system, instead becoming more flexible rather than just outright better. If anything, it would INCREASE diversity at higher skill levels, because you can kit cars out a very specific way if you know what it's going to be used for, get good at that setup, and compete with the top dogs that are just metagaming. No matter how simple or complex something is, people will always, ALWAYS metagame. It's just that right now, with how spartan the existing system is, there's hardly any other option.
You also suggested re-implementing the horrendous driving of GTAIV where it felt like breathing hard near a vehicle would cause it to tumble away. And at the end of the day, what you want for a meta and think might be good isn't necessarily true. Its bad from a design standpoint because it doesn't actually improve on what the core of the game is. It deviates tremendously from it. The game isn't about complex systems and interworking parts to create a realistic driving experience. It's supposed to be a wild free-for-all of action set pieces and violence. At its core what you are suggesting is just bad design for what GTA is. Adding more doesn't actually mean making the game better.
I think you would be floored by just how big GTA Online's racing community is The way you speak of it, it's as if it nearly doesn't exist, when it's been one of the biggest (if not THE biggest) organized communities GTA as a series has ever seen. [editline]t[/editline] GTA has the potential to be both a great open-world shooting game AND a good racing game, they don't have to be mutually exclusive. Racing game fans love the huge variety of vehicles and lavish visual customization of both their car and player, but most wish it had a bit more depth than none at all. Even still, some have stuck with the game since 360/PS3, and have bought it twice or even three times. They're definitely a market worth catering to, and the fact Rockstar keeps trying to innovate with race maps and modes suggest they're already trying to.
I have LSPDFR videos now.
are those arrest animations custom? i've never seen a cop in gta v arrest anybody before because they always just shoot them.
iirc, the LSPDFR devs found them in the files. The only time you see the animation is in a prerendered video on TV.

It would be kind of fun if they brought back Turf Wars.
iirc, the LSPDFR devs found them in the files. The only time you see the animation is in a prerendered video on TV.
You can actually get arrested in singleplayer. Only if you've got 1 star and don't fight back, though, IIRC. Unless it's a different animation? I don't remember what it looks like, I could probably count the times I was arrested in GTA V on one hand...

You don't get handcuffed or anything like that.

And on that part I agree with you, more of that isn't going to add to the health of the game. But it wouldn't be a problem if they brought more cars in line with each other and each having trade-offs. Maybe the entity has good acceleration and top speed but it's grip is awful so it can spin out in the turns. Stuff like that. THEN Everything's ideas could be implemented.

Is there a way to paint chrome rims? I want my rims to look like this: [t]http://i.imgur.com/8gqLtUG.png[/t] Chrome with a hint of blue in them, I don't like it is "this or that" when choosing wheel colors. I want both :(

I bought GTA on PC (Had it on 360 ages ago but got bored) literally so I could mess with the movie editor. I'm blown away by how powerful it actually is, looking forward to making something cool with it!

Cars didn't feel like they were made of weightless plastic. Crashing actually felt like it had impact and turning actually required slowing down. Most vehicles, especially supercars believe it or not, wouldn't make it around a corner while flooring it like you can do in GTA5. I like GTA 5's driving system but I feel like cars stick to the road a little much. I definitely appreciated the weight that cars felt like they had in IV [editline]28th April 2016[/editline] And everytime I say this someone always replies "something something cars tilt too much around corners in IV" but I really only noticed it on the older model vehicles which made a little more sense to me
GTA IV Futo was an amazing car, would drive that thing beautifully.
And everytime I say this someone always replies "something something cars tilt too much around corners in IV" but I really only noticed it on the older model vehicles which made a little more sense to me
Super GT is one of the examples that applies to this. An Aston DB9-ripoff might be heavier than some supercars, but it shouldn't have 20 degrees of body roll each way.
I want Rockstar to add some varsity and college-like stuff. Yellow/Navy Blue/White sweaters with university logos and numbers on them, hoodies, tank-tops, the ability to wear plaid shirts and jackets around your waist. Basically a sport-jock themed update. They could take the opportunity to add new (actually good) haircuts and probably even swimgear and underwear (that isn't limited to Valentine's day) plus more animal masks (Tiger, Horse, Ox, Snake, etc.) An Adversary Mode which plays like Hunt The Beast meets Slasher mode. A player is selected as "The One" who has increased health and has access to an automatic weapon with a lot of ammo and is put alone in a single team. The rest plays as the Runners, who are armed with SNS Pistols and baseball bats and must go through several checkpoints while they avoid being killed by the one. If at the least one player manages to escape the map without being killed by the one, the Runners have won. The one wins if they execute every player. The maps include ULSA Campus, Mirror Park, Kortz Center and Rockford Hills (the subway station and some places above). oh and Beer hats
Has anyone else noticed when you go to brake in a car with a controller it very quickly initiates aiming?
Has anyone else noticed when you go to brake in a car with a controller it very quickly initiates aiming?
Make sure the game isn't somehow taking mouse/keyboard input at the same time. When I'm on foot and press something on keyboard + something on controller, it typically starts recording an editor clip. If I do it in a car it'll sometimes start aiming.
Anyone noticed that when you climb over a small obstacle, your character makes an upset facial expression for a few seconds? It's like they got hit by the gmod faceposer.
