Did I? I purged my list of a lot of people a while back because it was hitting the scale of too many people never talk to scale.
No idea about who I have added on origin though, if you wanna re-add me go for it.
Well I meant on steam. And I talked to you sometimes. We used to fuck around in Ps3 GTA.
What's the point, who cares about rockstar's fake brands and the generally ugly cars that they make?
Makes the car not stand out like a sore thumb, forces the modder to get a bit more creative and generally provides a more consistent and enjoyable experience.
You wouldn't want a photo-realistic gun to be added to TF2, with gritty textures and a real manufacturer's name on it, because it doesn't fit the style. Same deal here. Most of the models clearly don't belong to the same game, so the least you can do is not call it a Honda.

And what about those of us who do want it? The TF2 analogy isn't very valid anyway because GTA isn't cartoony, it's simply non-real brands.
I have enough cars installed and added to where they make up their own traffic and none of them stand out. I enjoy it better that way because it's "my" game, that's the beauty of mods.

It all comes down to personal preference of course. I wouldn't use real car mods because they'd stand out to me. Even if I got a lot of them like you have, I think I would always notice how different they were.
Anyway, I think it's cool when modders go to lengths to make their content fit the game they're adding it to.
Taking real cars and adding GTA branding works though, as in the Classic Infernus that one guy made for GTA IV which is a slightly modified Ferarri Testarossa from Forza with Pegassi branding
modifying them more is nice but I much prefer vehicles that stick to the lore (even if it's just rebadging) to vehicles that are real world

But it's a honda. When I want a Honda Integra in GTA I don't want the modder to change the badges into Dinka Burka or whatever, it's a Honda Integra. And comparing TF2 vs real life and GTA vs real life is false equivalency; something like Payday would be more relevant.
GTA is about looking as real-world as possible. They just use real brands because licensing brands costs money, but a handful of cars are pretty much their real life equivalent with very little changed, and it gives them the opportunity to do more hamfisted satire. "Hehehe look our Ford ripoff brand is called Vapid! Get it? Hehehe! Declasse! Haha!" Jesus christ...
If you want to add real cars to your game with GTA-brand badges, I'm pretty sure you can edit the textures and swap them around with OpenIV, so it's really a non-issue.

Having real-world cars mixed with fictional cars isn't really a big issue either, Need For Speed did it for ages. Driveable cars were real cars, traffic cars were fictional. Since The Run (I think) they moved to all real cars but it was never really a big issue. I don't think real cars stick out either because GTA's models are already reasonably hi-poly, after that it's up to the modder to be competent and do the LODs properly and stuff but you can do that quality control yourself.
Modding the game is all about turning the game into what I want it to be, and what I want is Forza Horizon: Los Santos with the ability to walk around. And with real car mods, manual transmission mod, realistic physics mod... You can make it pretty damn close to that.

Since when? While generally badgeless and low-poly I don't remember a single actually fictional traffic car in any NFS game. The only specific fictional vehicles I remember from NFS at all were all drivable bonus vehicles.
Even if they didn't badge them properly they were always a real car, and this goes as far back as NFS III at the very least, where all of the traffic vehicles were real vehicles (crown victoria taxis, for example, using the exact same model as the crown victoria cop cars).

Pretty sure that the traffic cars in NFSU, NFSU2, Most Wanted, Underground and Carbon were fictional. Same models too.
Dirt Rally too, you're blasting around on a rally stage on a Lancia Delta and the cars in the scenery are all fictional.

TF2 might have been a bad example, but I needed something where the devs have spent time creating a world. All of the hamfisted satire you're talking about is a huge part of what makes GTA. It's not about looking as real-world as possible, it's about looking like a parody of the real world. I don't particularly care for the satire most of the time but it's important.
You can argue that they don't license brands because it's too expensive (which seems ridiculous with how much money Rockstar have), but I think they don't license things because that's not what GTA is about. If they wanted Hondas in the game, they would pay to have Hondas in the game. Most of the style is cringey sex jokes in place of brand identity, but it's dishonest to say that they do that because of a lack of money.

It's not only about the money, getting licensing deals with a game with a stigma like GTA's is complicated. You'll have Ferrari and Mercedes and Ford "you can have our cars in the game but no running over hookers with it or showing damage" and suddenly having your world be purely populated by real cars would mean making some pretty contrived car choices.
Actually, from what I understand, GTA doesn't have real branding because when they asked for licencing rights of several makers for GTA3, the answer they got back was basically "Pfff, what are you, stupid?"
IIRC Chevy has tried to make amends between the release of IV and V, but Rockstar reminded them of how rude they were back when GTA as a series was still relatively small, and quite firmly declined.

This seems to happen a lot. Piss off the little guy, they become big and tell you to fuck off.

This is even more of a good example than you think, because in Finland there are a few parked Lancers while the rest of the scenery cars are fake. I've never had a feeling of "that looks like it stands out" when I see them.
I haven't played gta online in almost 3 months and I come back to this:

Has anybody had this happen to them before?
I also can't enter any of my garages.
Edit:
nevermind, it was a corrupt updates.rpf.
I'm still on xbone for whoever was asking. I refuse to buy it on PC considering how often people bitch about hackers and being reset and all that.
My only problem with xbone (other than a lack of mods, obviously) is the fact that the fucking thing takes 20 minutes to load a game only for it to kick you out because cockstar's servers are run from wooden modems
I installed Episodes for Liberty City again last night. Jesus fuck that game has some of the worst optimization I have ever seen.

man i wish i could play at least 1 mission from that
it stopped during the prologue loading screen for me

TLaD was practically unplayable on my previous PC, which actually ran GTA IV respectably. I managed to complete a couple of missions before giving up. BoGT was fairly well optimized, though, if I remember correctly.
so after a year, we can finally edit the GTA 5 models on 3DSmax

Why is it still called OpenIV though, wouldn't it have been better to call it OpenV, because that version is for GTA V?
Time to install 3DS Max again

Because an open V is already something very different :v:
I wish Rockstar would do more Q&A stuff. The last (and only iirc) time they did it was last year

Maybe not using real car brand names is like why you don't want to use the hollywood sign
You'll have to pay someone for it
[editline]4th May 2016[/editline]
Or something, it's why a lot of shooters have fake gun names

Indeed, its technically a trademarked title so they have to pay to use it. EA made a big thing about it after Battlefield 3 was released about how they weren't going to use real gun names any more because they have to pay royalty fees. Hence why you often see Desert Eagles renamed things like "Night Hawk".

Wasn't EfLC way better optimized than GTA IV? EfLC, unlike IV, actually ran smoothly for me.
I just spent the past several hours in GTA V/Online just driving around in a bus. I should install the bus mission mod...

TLaD ran worse, BoGT ran better (and BoGT had slightly improved graphics).
I just went full MadMax.
