I'm surprised this game even still has people playing it.
I literally just play LSPDFR. Haven't touched online in months and have no intention of doing so.
I'm surprised this game even still has people playing it.
it's still fun
it's still fun
It's fun for the 3 hours you play everytime a new update comes out. But there is never anything with enough substance to keep you coming back for more than 3-4 days.
I usually just get on for about an hour or so at a time, and try to get lucky with heists and find competent randoms. Either that or I'll turn on some music and grind some VIP work solo until I get bored.
I miss the first week of GTAO. Sure, half the time I had trouble connecting to the servers. Sure, it didn't save any of my progress until the second week. But you know what? I wasn't dying on spawn back in those days and hell, I even had a little fun since nobody had tanks and armored kurumas to shoot me out of. Everyone was at the bottom, and so nobody was.
I'm surprised this game even still has people playing it.
I play it because it's fun to drive around and do missions.

There were tons of money and RP glitches back then, and that boosted a lot of people to the top fairly quickly.
Don't forget that the tank was overpowered and fighting jets was a lot harder since the only way to get one was through Fort Zancudo and it made it very easy to predict when someone attempted to get one (and that enabled them to prevent you from getting one a lot easily). Now talking about jobs, they were actually more or less worse. Some missions were too easy and paid a lot and other missions were too difficult and paid close to nothing. While it might seem a lot easy to grind, it made playing missions a lot more boring since you had to play the same mission over and over if you wanted to make cash. Current system lets you make decent amounts without having to play the same mission Also, back in then almost everyone lived in Eclipse. Something nobody in the game seems to understand is that most players go with the logic of: superior price = best, Eclipse was the most expensive place to live, so everyone moved there. Currently there are other places in the city which have the same pricing as Eclipse, so now people pick different properties instead of the same one. Same thing happened with the Adder. It was the most expensive car in the game, so everyone drove one. Currently there are cars which are almost as expensive as the adder and look different, so now people tend to drive different cars. The initial release of GTA:O was really barebones. Even after the Beach Bum update and when Rockstar gave the stimulus package the game felt weak, the good stuff started to happen after the Business Update. In summary, current GTA:O is a lot better than the original release - Enhanced Passive Mode - Several new properties - More types of clothing - A better variety of cars and mods for low riders - A lot more guns and good options like the Heavy Rifle and the Homing Rocket Launcher - Customization for guns - Apartment (small) customization - Still shitty, but better matchmaking - Mental state which works in the majority of cases - Daily Objectives which give you cash - Better payout system - Ability to stack up armor When GTA:O was first released yeah, there might have not been as much griefers, but back in then a single griefer could be unstoppable. Tanks were hard as hell to destroy and a guy in a jet could keep everyone else from getting one. Nowadays you got the Hydra and a bunch of other guns and vehicles like the Insurgent to counter them. There are a lot of griefers now but a lot of them suck at the game and it's rare to encounter someone skilled enough to ruin your game entirely.
does mental state do anything other than tell you who to avoid?
does mental state do anything other than tell you who to avoid?
you don't get the free $2000 and player get rp for killing you
Sent Rockstar an email asking for money for my accidentally removed T20, they gave me $2,300,000, took them a bit to do so mind you, between 30 - 40 hours, but still, money.

Not sure you'll be able to pull that shit multiple times but, eh, worth a try.
Been using the money I got back to buy some cheaper but overall nicer cars that I'll actually be keeping, like I bought the Huntley S as it's the best SUV, but it's cheap, so I don't mind buying it, I bought another Sabre Turbo and gave it a Matte Black look too, I like giving cars a Matte Black look, makes them look like Stealth cars or Undercover cars.

I got the Baller LE and driving with it just feels good.
i'm few days late, but a facepuncher TheAdmiester has made it to the newswire https://socialclub.rockstargames.com/news/article/52620/gtavines-gifs-more-epic-sumo-wins-sabre-turbo-parkour
So according to reddit, Rockstar is sending out emails giving people money ahead of the new update. Some got 100k, some got 150 and one even got 500k. [editline]2nd June 2016[/editline] [t] https://i.imgur.com/HvZEqLa.jpg[/T]
Neat. I just tried setting up a rockstar social club account for my xbox and I already had one setup apparently. By my old roommate. From 3 years ago. :|
i can predict that this will be overhyped to oblivion
Originally thought that one of the guys in the trailer was running into combat with an unloaded gun, but it seems like we might be getting some new extended magazines for assault rifles.
http://www.gamesradar.com/screenshot-of-liberty-city-in-gta-5s-engine-surface-on-rockstar-artists-portfolio/ I want to believe
It's possible that's just for portfolio or demonstration purposes, but man, that is cool to think about. Also quick question, I somehow got 2+ million through a bug (not a hacker, I'm sure) where somehow my connection broke while selling a car and I somehow sold it a few thousand times... Anyway, is there anything (cars, apartments, weapons) that a level 40ish should get, or should I wait for this update to drop?
I made it to lvl 120 finally, minigun time. :v:
-snip- misread it. probably more VIP work. Still cool though. Super excited for this.

Sucks I only care about the new locations and buildings as potential filming locations in GTA :v:
Has anyone checked out during the trailer if the guys from the rival operation were other players or just NPCs? If they were NPCs there's still hope we can play in Private Sessions.
I hope that it's just like heist missions. You and crew vs NPC's, not actual MP lobby.
GTA Online, in my opinion, is not made for PvP at all.
