Holy shit I had an amazing Blue Bomber run. Tear blasts on that are the best thing.
Throw glitter bombs, poison bombs, and cluster bombs on top of that and you've got a winner. (Sadly the cluster bombs don't actually effect kamikaze.)
Okay so Blinding Baby isn't the reward for clearing Lost's post it on hard. That's Godhead.
Instead, you get Blinding Baby for [sp]Using Blank Card with The Sun[/sp].
Are you sure? Because I did that after the patch and nothing happened.

So uh yeah, for all of you unaware, there actually is an ARG now:
So Mega Blast is pretty finicky to unlock at the moment. You must defeat Mega Satan with every character, doesn't matter which difficulty.
Here's the kicker as far as this achievement is concerned:
Lazarus 2 and Dark Judas are considered separate characters from their non-revived counterparts. But there's no indication that this is necessary or even that progress is made with them in the first place.
[sp]The Keeper[/sp] is part of this tally. Making the achievement impossible without cheating.
So everyone who has the Mega achievement is a cheater. Neat.
The secret is out https://twitter.com/iamisaacsbody/status/665475939166371840
Patch knowledge so far.
Added Keeper. He looks like a legit shopkeeper, the sprites that were found through datamining were actually red herrings.
Unlock Keeper by donating 1000 coins to the Greed Mode donation machine.
Keeper has unique health in that...he doesn't have health at all. He gets 2 coins instead. 1 for each hit. That's all you get. No health ups.
Picking up money heals him.
All heart drops are replaced by attack flies. This includes effects that spawn hearts such as Hematemesis.
Innate triple shot. Cannot be rerolled away.
Item unlocks for him are not yet sussed out, but they are definitely not donation milestones since he is the donation milestone. He does unlock new items, not just getting himself the Wooden Nickle and Store Key to start with, so get on it.
Re-added the Rib of Greed trinket.
Added a 1001% achievement.
Lilith no longer has a white body instead of demonic black.
Mega Blast should now be possible to unlock. Still need to double-check that earlier warning about Laz 2 and D. Judas.
"Keeper now holds... A Penny!" achievement - who wants to bet this adds 1 maximum penny-health to the keeper?
The Keeper is about as hard as the Lost.
Being able to fly really makes a huge difference.
you know what's not particularly fun?
greed mode
Shut up it's great.
Though not with Azazel anymore.

Personally I only find Greed Mode truly fun as Lilith 'cause of her one-room potential... Who I don't find fun at all in regular gameplay since the Box of Friends nerf. Could be just miserable luck as her, but I haven't really gotten a good run off the ground as her whereas with the other characters I do just fine.
Speaking of Lilith, a way to buff her and not make her ridiculously overpowered in greed mode would be to make Box of Friends be a 6 charge item, but it would gain two charges per room, making it essentially a three charge item that has slightly less synergy with charge up modifying items. Along with making playing as her in regular mode bearable.
Fuck yeah, beat today's daily run.
[sp]Fucking first floor Haunt with r u a wizard brimstone.[/sp]

uhh were bomb beggars always in this dlc?
i remember that bomb item pool someone said got added. his reward seems to be using it, he gave me scatter bombs.
yes it does. if you love flash, rebirth is really worth it
Cool, I'll wait until the winter sales then, can't afford to spend 20$ on a game right now.
Its been said a million times, but dear god is Ultra Greed shit. Sure, the boss himself is pretty interesting, more variety than pretty much any other boss. However, said a million times again, his health scaling is pure shit. Unless the devil deal includes more health, they're worthless at the final boss. And you need to beat the final boss of course. Devil deals just limit you cause you're taking away vital health which can sustain you for the fight, and any damage up does jack shit due to the aforementioned health scaling which it is constantly doing. Bloody Lust does jack shit for you because Greed's health is, once again, constantly scaling to your attacks. One run i cut Ultra Greed's health in half, but it immediately scaled right back to the long fight, cause who cares about power. Now that i think about it, Greed Mode can be pure bullshit. You generally want more damage and overall tear power to kill the enemies quicker, but then most the "prep" for UG goes straight out the window, especially anything regarding damage. The main way to fix it would be to use the lesser health scaling system brought up in previous posts. I mean i still like greed mode, its okay, but it angers me at the end with ultra greed. That and I had much more fun breaking the game with the I.V bag, i so totally want a mod to bring that back i don't even need the piggy bank.
TL;DR: Regular rant about Ultra Greed being potential bullshit, and brief insights on how it could be potentially fixed.
Wow, who would've thought.
Swallowed penny, of all things, is now an OP item when you play as the Keeper.
I think I might be the only person that actually likes how the hush and ultra greed fights are balanced. I really don't like the mega satan fight just for how easy it almost always is despite having such a build-up to it. idk I just want a challenge at the end after fucking annihilating every thing on my way to get there.

I was thinking the same thing, although there's probably some sort of failsafe in place to keep things from getting super-broken.
I find Greed mode and Greed himself easy as shit, I don't think I've lost to him once since the release day and I beat him with every character multiple times besides Lost.
And all I do is focus on getting damage items until Womb to survive waves, then I spend all of my money on spirit hearts.
Your damage should be enough by that point and having full hp secures you the win against Greed
And I'm fucking awful in normal mode, the last time I played Rebirth was when it was released for a month or so. I had a -6 streak yesterday so you can imagine

I don't like them because I hate "survival" fights in any game, when you're expected to constantly inflict tiny damage on some enemy while avoiding whatever he throws at you
After almost 300 hours playing this game, I still think that the worst thing in any run by far is having low DPS. It makes clearing rooms takes longer, which gives you more opportunities to mistime a dodge or stumble into a hazard, which makes you lose health more often. High DPS, on the other hand, compensates for pretty much any other shortcoming by quickly clearing rooms before any enemies have a chance to cause trouble. This is why players love devil deals so much: so many devil items increase DPS, which more than compensates for the loss of health. Basically damage/tears trump every other stat.
Which is why it's such a pain in the ass that ultra greed basically nerfs most build's DPS to shit.
Not that it's not allowed to be a difficult fight, just pointing out the shittiness of it.

This. Being able to quickly get rid out of enemy while not giving him any chances to attack >>>>>>>>>>> withstanding lots of attacks while slowly draining an enemy's health.
It's so annoying that there's enemies just arbitrarily immune to kamikaze
I beat the Kamikaze challenge by abandoning the Kamikaze item and just stacking hard with Blank Card, Car Battery, Nun's Habit, Heirophant, and Sacrificial Dagger.
Lucky Rock is a huge boon in early game when you have unlimited resources to break rocks. Did this in Brains! too :v:
It's so annoying that there's enemies just arbitrarily immune to kamikaze
I know, right? That's probably why you start with Brother Bobby as well as Kamikaze and the explosion-immunity item, so that when you encounter the Ipecac monsters and whatnot, you can actually deal damage to them through investing the greater half of an afternoon.
1. tammy's head + brimstone, even if it is a rather circumstantial event, is an easy way to beat any blindfolded challenge
as noted by my second playthrough of the challenges for funsies: [T]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/398927845019299323/313132DAB5BCB98119940CAEB2962DEDAEBB2338/[/T]
2. is there any easy guide to 999 coins, I remember one floating around here recently? lookin to get my hands on our hard earned reward
there used to be an easy-ish way with the glowing hourglass but you can't do that anymore
this is going to be a very annoying grind, especially considering my machine just jammed at 5%
Man you can't upgrade Keeper's health? He's another "challenge" character? Meh
2. is there any easy guide to 999 coins, I remember one floating around here recently? lookin to get my hands on our hard earned reward
Restart until you have Blank Card in the shop.
Purchase Blank Card.
Save money for card purchases.
Purchase cards until you get 2 of Diamonds.
Use Blank Card to double money. Purchase battery pickups to repeat until you are at maximum money.
Purchase all pedestal items that you can. Do not purchase Chaos or Lil' Baggy. You're fishing for a couple specific items.
First you'll want the Car Battery or Starter Deck. The Starter Deck isn't necessary but the extra space makes it a lot easier to hold onto cards that you want to keep for later. Car Battery makes uses of 2 of Diamonds more effective and lets you speed up grinding with the Deck of Tarot Cards.
If your shop has batteries, you'll want to buy the Deck of Tarot Cards (if you have already purchased the Starter Deck, Mom's Pill Bottle works too), if your shop has batteries and tarot cards, you can do this pretty easily with just direct purchases. However, having the Car Battery will speed this process up if you go with the Deck route.
Grind cards until you get a Chaos Card, put this into your secondary card slot, we'll use this later.
Return to buying things infinitely. You're looking for the Battery and Glowing Hourglass. Once you have these two you are done and can progress as you see fit, you're bound to be powerful enough at this point to steamroll the game up to Ultra Greed.
If you see Glowing Hourglass before you get infinite money, restart. There's no way to get it again.
With the Glowing Hourglass overcharged, walk into the Ultra Greed fight with the Chaos Card ready to throw. Kill Ultra Greed in 1-hit, donate until the machine jams, use Glowing Hourglass to rewind the fight (which also grants you your Chaos Card, so don't sweat missing).
Repeat.
I usually get Chaos Card so rarely that I forget that it's thrown the moment you press the button(as opposed to holding throwable spacebar items where Isaac holds them in his hands waiting for you to pick a direction), and I waste it every time :v:
Just finished a Greed Run with 99 coins and the machine jams at 5. Why tie unlocks behind the donation machine if it still has a chance to jam??
