Oh my god the NO! trinket shows hoe much a certain run can be saturated by active items. I had a run where I picked it up in the basement and even still 5 active items spawned by way of libaries, sins, and Krampus. I really wouldn't mind if active items were removed from the treasure room pool completely and all found their ways into other pools.

the problem with peep and bloat for me are their floating eye hitboxes. when they decide to bounce, what angle of refraction they choose, how much they're pushed back by your tears, etc when the two follow the same pattern for a brief period of time, it's terrifying because you don't know if they're going to collide with each other and go crazy or follow their massive pattern to be honest the best change that eternal mode gave eternal peep was the ability to kill his eyes, even if he did have like 8 of them
What's happened to Kilburn? I haven't heard from that guy since summertime.
True hell is Champion Mega Fatty in a Thin Room.
What's happened to Kilburn? I haven't heard from that guy since summertime.
I'm still around.
Today's daily was pretty insane Be sure to reroll for Sackhead in one of the shops.
Ok, fuck Rag Man. It's bullshit you can get him on BASEMENT I. Like, why. He has so much health, instant shot homing tears (sometime triple) and keeps spawning his retardedly tanky psychic spiders. He's worse than [sp]--Hush--[/sp], because at least that's just bullet hell the boss and you're op by that point, not retarded "Surprise! Free damage! And oh, is that Soy Milk? Lol k rip"
I haven't had the game for very long, but I would love seeing Rag Man moving down some slots to the later 1 heart bosses and upping his difficulty a bit. If you don't get a decent item there are some characters that have a very hard time dealing with him.

He has more health than most basement bosses (if not all of them), summons enemies that you normally encounter only later in the Caves and fires untelegraphed homing projectiles. This is taking into account the fact that he may easily be the very first boss a new player encounters in their very first run. Really makes me wonder what they were thinking when they added him as a Basement boss.
Ragman is not the only balance problem. The entire cellar floor is unbalanced in my opinion, and it's been like this since WOTL, much worse after the release of Rebirth, and the big problem about it are the spiders. Most of the Spider enemies have a disproportionate amount of HP (compared to other enemies in the basement), spawn other spiders, are super fast and can appear dozens at a time in a single room. They are the prominent enemy in the cellar. The prominent enemy in the basement are flies, which are not only easier to kill, but also move predictably, most of them are slow and they don't spawn endless waves of other flies. Most importantly: why the fuck do Nests spawn in the cellar? Their counterpart, the Hive, has the same amount of HP, spawns flies that are easier to kill, but appears only in the caves and onwards. Why is the Nest there so early? Nests and those black long-legged spider fucks are reason enough to make me hold R whenever the cellar appears as a first floor. Fuck that.

I don't care about streaks, I want an enjoyable run, and the Long Legs spiders, Haunt, Ragman and pretty much spiders in general are antifun. Let's not forget to mention that in rooms larger than 1x1 Trites can pretty much be unavoidable damage because they can suddenly and unpredictably enable the NASA shuttle lodged in their ass and come flying from off screen at Mach 2. Spiders in general are just bullshit and even if you know their patterns and AI they're still unpredictable, doing things they normally don't do, which none of the basement enemies do. Also lets not forget that spiders are still clipping through rocks, a problem that has been present since WotL but still hasn't been fixed. tl;dr fuck spider enemies in Rebirth.

Basement needs a rebalance in greed mode. 4/5 times if I'm using a character with a lower dps and the item in the boss room didn't increase damage or tears then I'm going to have to take a number of forced hits from pressing the button and from all the damn spiders and their unpredictable movement patterns. [editline]27th November 2015[/editline] Also related fuck narrow boss rooms. Fucking War and his unavoidable troll bomb attack ruined a really good Lost run with at the time Epic Fetus and 2 balls of bandages
Do any of you have an item where if you see it on the first couple of floors it's a good omen (assuming it's not one of the intentionally overpowered ones)? Cricket's Body is that for me. I don't think I've ever lost a run with it.
Well im done, took 337 hours but i had to restart the whole game when afterbirth came out because of that bug thing that happend, still happy tho :D [t]http://puu.sh/lBBHc/9aad5f3da4.jpg[/t] Edit: here is a bonus [t]http://puu.sh/lBBQe/1c6def0ca5.jpg[/t]
I really can't describe why I dislike Afterbirth so much. I just don't see it as being as great as Wrath of the Lamb or Rebirth. (For the sake of clarity, I consider Rebirth both a remake and an expansion.)

One thing that bugs the shit out of me is the entire new "chapter" and final boss. Don't get me wrong, the fight against Hush itself is interesting, it's just I hate the fact that it's completely unoriginal visually. Hush is literally Mega Blue Baby. (And I already have a huge hate boner for the Blue Baby fight in the chest for being probably the worst end game boss.) And the chapter length is a two treasure rooms, a shop and the boss. If they had actually taken the time to make it a real floor with a more visually interesting boss, I would have been fine. Greed mode and Ultra Greed are the best parts about Afterbirth in my opinion, the rest is either very underwhelming or just plain bad.

Problem is that you REALLY need a good run otherwise you get fucked hard by the bullet hell.
still not a fan of the time requirement on hush. should always just be an option. go there if you want to get your ass kicked, otherwise just keep going down the standard path I mean, I don't really see why not. damage scaling will always make it more difficult, so if the argument is that no one would ever pass it up for the post-womb shop and item rooms, i'd say if you want to fight a super tough boss for those goodies, go for it
I felt that the Hush was cool to be honest. Problem is that you REALLY need a good run otherwise you get fucked hard by the bullet hell.
I'm sorry but compared to MEGA SATAN and ULTRA GREED, Hush just doesn't look or sound as cool or threatening as either of them. We already had the whole "Isaac is suffocating" thing done with Blue Baby twice, we didn't need a third.
I really can't describe why I dislike Afterbirth so much. I just don't see it as being as great as Wrath of the Lamb or Rebirth. (For the sake of clarity, I consider Rebirth both a remake and an expansion.)
WotL was great because it expanded the base game massively, by adding tons of new unique items, room types and game mechanics Rebirth was great because it was not only a content pack but also a new engine, new graphics and new soundtrack. Afterbirth is just meh in comparison. That, and Edmund dropped all the balancing rules he set in the earlier dlcs. And Keeper is just frustrating. The Lost in Rebirth was hard, but he had flight and free devil deals as anti-frustration features. Keeper doesn't have that. Keeper is just frustration. Really makes me wonder if Ed still cares about the fun/balance
Really makes me wonder if Ed still cares about the fun/balance
It makes me think that on some level Edmund is trying to experiment with what his audience will and won't tolerate.
You'd think that Marked would work with mouse controls. But no, it doesn't. :frown:
You guys keep pointing at Edmund and completely ignore Nicalis. It's like Nicalis is completely none existent. [editline]29th November 2015[/editline] Quick example, they decided it was a good idea to bring Afterbirth early in Halloween instead of delaying the expansion. Who do you think came up with that idea, Edmund or Nicalis? [editline]29th November 2015[/editline] I ain't trying to say Edmund is innocent, but pointing fingers at him alone is unfair imo.
You'd think that Marked would work with mouse controls. But no, it doesn't. :frown:
Speaking of marked, does Marked+Brimstone fire a constant beam?
Speaking of marked, does Marked+Brimstone fire a constant beam?
Nah, Brimstone overrides Marked.
Seems like....such an obvious synergy though. What a shame.
